Many thanks to this committee for inviting me to judge their open show at the picturesque venue of Builth Wells. A warm welcome greeted me with a lovely ringside presence from the exhibitors who accepted my placings with good grace. All exhibits were sound and of excellent temperament – a thoroughly enjoyable day. A special thank you to my steward John Green who kept the ring running smoothly enabling me to finish judging in good time and get some lovely memorable photos outside, courtesy of Anne Taylor, thank you.

1. Wheaton’s Ausrie’s The Real Thing for Acinonyx. Nicely balanced puppy of just 6 months, appealing head with kind eye and expression. Strong neck leading into a pleasing shoulder, good depth and bone. Showed some promising reach and drive on the move, beautifully presented.
2. Kitchenside’s Ausrie’s A Perfect Storm. Another puppy of just 6 months with kind head and soundly angulated all through. Not as good in top-line and a little long in body. Showed some good movement but felt he wasn’t as ‘together’ as my class winner, well presented.

Liked his shape moving and standing, impressed with his fitness, very toned. A promising future for this young man and will be interested to see how he develops, covered ground well with a balanced gait, BPD & BPIS.

2. Goodban’s Seittor Yoio with Keljaygo. Well presented young male of 14 months, masculine head with broad skull and muzzle. Correct length of neck leading into a good shoulder placement. Would like a better top-line but well-muscled throughout and showed some promising movement in all directions.

1. Baillie/Shaw’s Stairvale Frazer. 2 year old dog who stood alone but of good quality and masculinity. Nicely balanced head with dark eye and keen expression. Strong, muscular neck leading into a good shoulder assembly, correct bone, sound top-line and well-muscled rear. Moved with purpose showing reach and drive, just looked a little over-stretched at times which spoilt his outline.

1. Kitchenside’s Jaegerot Man In The Mirror. Upstanding male of 2 years with lots of quality. Strong, masculine head with dark eye. Muscular neck leading into a pleasing shoulder, correct bone and good feet. Lovely outline standing, moved well in profile and on the out and back, beautifully presented and handled, in my final 3 for BD.
2. Smith’s Cheroho Jedi at Claulbrith. Rising 4 years, very masculine and for me overdone in all areas. Head OK but saddened to see such excessive plaque on this fairly young dog’s teeth. Fair angulation in front and rear with sound top-line and muscle tone. Moved OK in profile but very close behind when going away.

1. Kitchenside’s Cheroho Gamorian Guard. Another who I felt was a little overdone and would have preferred a better leg length. That said, a balanced head with strong muzzle. Good depth of chest with straight front and good bone, he looked well standing. Moved out in profile well enough but untidy on the out and back. Well presented and handled.

Couldn’t fault his effortless, ground covering movement, he owned the ring. Presented in tip top condition and pleased to award him BD & subsequently BIS.
2. Powell’s Quoja’s Maximus to Riversrock. A bit of a handful today but when settled showed me some excellent movement both in profile and on the out and back. Masculine head with keen expression, good breadth of skull and muzzle. Lovely front and rear with sound, well-muscled top-line. Excellent presentation, he was shown in fit, well-toned condition.
