Jarrow and Hebburn Canine Society Valentines Day Open Show -10/02/19Judge: Caroline Friend-Rees (Amical)

Many thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at your excellent well run show and to my stewards who did a fabulous job of keeping the ring running efficiently.

Great Dane Puppy D/B 5/4  -  1st Mrs S Mclellan’s Tayhamblue Show Must Go On with Anadain Strong male with excellent bone and substance. Lovely head and expression . Arched neck of good length, deep bristket down to elbow and firm topline . Well muscled throughout . Moving with free flowing ground covering action and powerful driving action from his strong hindquarters. A pleasure to award him Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed.  2nd Mrs V Young’s Georgieone Kattamra Borg - Feminie elegant bitch with a lovely balanced head and neat well placed ears. Long arched neck , deep brisket to close fitting elbows and ribs well sprung. 3rd Mrs V Young’s Geordieone To Control 

Great Dane Junior D/B 2/1 - 1st Mrs V Young’s Georgieone Johannisborg Quality masculine male with lovely arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders, straight front legs and tight cat like arched feet. Deep brisket reaching elbows, Ribs well sprung and Strong back and loin. 

Great Dane Open D/B 2/1 - 1st Mr J & Mrs EA Brumpton’s Dornoir Ptolemy for Doquest 2 year old male harleguin of good size and shape. Head in proportion to body. Good layback of shoulder but a little narrow in front. Firm topline and well angulated hindquarters. Lovely arched tight feet. 

Japanese Shiba Inu Graduate D/B - 1st & Best of Breed Mrs R, Mr T & Mrs D Adey & Campbell’s Burwen I Am The Intercept at Echezeaux. Super male of excellent breed type. Lovely head with broad flat skull, dark small almond eyes and well developed cheeks. Level topline, deep chest and short loin. Light and quick on the move. 

Schipperke Open D/B 4/2 - 1st & Best of Breed Mr I Millar’s Abylity Nina’s Celtic Queen of Turnlaw (imp) - Feminine bitch of good size and shape. Strong, full. short neck into firm topline and well rounded rump. Moving with lovely short, brisk strides. 2nd Mrs L Collier’s Stoneyburn’s Banna. Masculine male shown in excellent coat and condition. Good front assembly with well laid shoulders and straight forelegs . Broad chest and deep in brisket. Short strong back and well made hindquarters.

Boston Terrier Open D/B - 1st Mrs H Gracie’s Frenbosen Graces Secret. Feminine 10 month old bitch with lovely even markings and short, fine coat. Lovely head and expression. Deep width of chest and compact outline .

Tibetan Terrier Graduate D/B - 1st & Best Puppy in Breed Ms G & Mr P Marley & Thirlwell’s Myrlea Spooked by Ink. Pretty 10 month old bitch. Correct length of leg to body giving a super square outline and firm topline. Moving with effortless smooth strides.

Tibetan Terrier Open D/B - 1st & Best of Breed Ms G & Mr P Marley & Thirlwell’s Myrlea Under The Spell Typy Male of good size and shape. Pleasing head and expression. Firm topline lovely square outline. Shown in excellent coat and condition 

Lhasa Apso Gradute D/B 5/5 - 1st & Best Puppy in Breed Miss A M McCoy’s Lhasadell’s Making Eyes at Me Very pretty young bitch with the most pleasing head and expression. Good neck flowing into well constructed front and firm topline. Just needs to settle on the move.  2nd Mr C & Mrs L Chesterfield’s Toynbee Kookie Krumble with Burnsett - Another quality young bitch with a feminine head, correct bite and dark eye. Well constructed front with good topline and hindquarters.  3rd Mr D & Mrs K Thompson’s Toynbee Knick Knack 

Lhasa Apso Open D/B 2/2 - 1st & Best of Breed, Mr C & Mrs L Chesterfield’s Toynbee Gossip Girl at Burnsett 2 year old feminine bitch of good breed type. Lovely head and expression with dark medium size eyes. Strong neck and well laid shoulders. Level topline and well muscled hindquarters. Lovely free jaunty movement.  2nd Miss A M McCoy’s Terendak Parti Time . Well made feminine bitch of good size and shape. Lovely dark medium size eyes and correct bite. Level topline and moving well.

Poodle (Miniature) Graduate D/B 3/2 - 1st Mrs M Smart’s Voodoolan Black Magic Spell ShCM. Impressive black male who commands your attention as he enters the ring. Lovely masculine head with dark almond shaped eyes, scissor bite and well defined chin. Good reach of neck into well made front assembly. Short, strong back with deep chest and well sprung ribs. Sound, free and light movement with plenty of drive from the rear. Could not deny him Best of Breed and Group 1. It was a pleasure to watch him go RBIS later in the day.  2nd Miss J Judge Hosha Skyz Da Limit at Ysabelkid. Feminine head with dark eyes and correct scissor bite. Good length of neck and firm topline. 

Poodle (Miniature) Open D/B 4/2 - 1st Mrs M Smart’s Voodoolan Black Magic Spell ShCM as previous class.  2nd Miss S H & Mr H C S Hall & Sports, Minarets Stage Presence at Darmistic - Quality male of good size and shape. Stunning head and expression with lovely dark eyes and correct scissor bite. Neck of good length into a short, strong topline and muscular hindquarters. Moving with excellent rear drive.

Poodle (Standard) Junior D/B - 1st Mrs N Garbutt’s Kertellas Live Your Dream at Tianola Stylish young bitch who just screams breed type and quality. Lovely feminine head with dark almond eyes and well defined chin. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders and deep chest down to tight elbows. Short back and powerful well muscled hindquartes. Moving well. A pleasure to award her Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed.

Poodle (Standard) Graduate D/B2/2 - 1st Mrs N Garbutt’s Kertellas Live Your Dream at Tianola, as previous class 2nd Miss Dobson & Wolfe’s Lady Sadie Sparling Star. 4 year old bitch of good size and shape. Dark eye and correct scissor bite. Neck of good length flowing into well laid shoulders, straight forelegs and firm topline. Needs to settle on the move.

Shih Tzu Junior D/B 2/1 - 1st Mrs Y Forbes’ Paliden Bucks Fizz to Ekland. 14 month old bitch with lovely broad head and dark eyes. Body of correct proportions with level back and muscular hindquarters. Moving well.

Shih Tzu Graduate D/B 4/3 - 1st Mr E & Mrs A Fairley’s Rossvale Here Comes The Sun Over Fairmere Quality balanced male with pleasing head and expression. Strong neck into good shoulders, level topline and correct tail set. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Best of Breed   2nd Mrs Y Forbes’ Paliden Bucks Fizz to Ekland. As previous class   3rd Mrs S Longstaff Shihmali Victorious 

Akita Graduate D/B - 1st Mrs C Simpson’s Tikasa’s Storm Siren For Rominjay . 10 month old bitch with good head and expression. Dark eyes and rims. Thick muscular neck into strong powerful shoulders and tight elbows. Level topline and moderate tuck up.Moving with powerful strides. Best Puppy in Breed.

Akita Open D/B 2/2 - 1st Mrs C Simpson’s Casakura Joseph Parker with Rominjay 13 month old male with maculine head, dark eyes and dark tight rims. Level topline and good tailset. Best of Breed.  2nd Miss J & Miss J Lee & Burke’s Lexi The Looker of Kitazia. Very pretty feminine 8 year old bitch with good bone and substance. Strong head with dark eyes and small thick ears. Deep chest down to tight elbows and firm topline.

AV NSC Utility Puppy D/B - 1st Mrs T Matheson-Smith’s Middanwinter Pony Express (Kooikerhondje) 11 month old male with a lovely clean outline. Balanced head with dark almond shaped eyes, medium size ears and correct scissor bite. Well laid shoulders, chest reaching to tight elbows and well sprung ribs. Strong level topline and well muscled hindquarters . moving with good extention and rear drive. Best AV NSC & Best AV NSC Puppy. 

AV Utility Puppy D/B 8/2 - 1st Miss A M McCoy’s Lhasadell’s Making Eyes at Me (Lhasa Apso) as breed class, 2nd Miss AM McCoy’s Yakee Burnice for Pawwarzstarz (Lhasa Apso) Quality young bitch puppy who moved better in this class than her breed class. Very pretty with lovely dark eyes and correct bite. Well laid shoulders and straight forelegs. Tail high set and carried over her back.

AV Utility Graduate D/B 4/2 1st Mrs S C Noble’s Ruebedu Sheik Yerbouti (Dalmation) 13 month old bitch with lovely feminine head and expression . Good size and shape with clean outline and correct bone. Excellent spotting . Sound mover.    2nd Mrs S Longstaff Shihmali Victorious (Shih Tzu) Male of good size. Pleasing head and expression with corret bite. Generally made well and moving soundly.

Moving well.    2nd Miss A M McCoy’s Terendak Parti Time(Lhasa Apso) as breed class   3rd Mrs S C Noble’s Shulune Celtic Sapdragon of Ruebedu (Dalmation) 

AV Utility Veteran D/B 4/3 1st Mrs R Lamb’s Dalpetro Diva JW (Dalmation) Quality Dalmation with the most attractive head, long well arched neck and level topline. Lovely free flowing movement on well arched cat like feet. 2nd Mrs S Longstaff’s Shihmali Mum’s The World (Shih Tzu) as previous class   3rd Miss J & Miss J Lee & Burke’s Lexi The Looker of Kitazia 

Utility GroupG1 - Poodle (Miniature) Mrs M Smart’s Voodoolan Black Magic Spell ShCM Could not deny this male the group for him ring presence and breed type. His movement was just so sound, free and light I could watch all day. He absolutely loved the big ring at the end of the day winner RBIS.

G2 - Schipperke Mr I Millar’s Abylity Nina’s Celtic Queen of Turnlaw (imp) Pushing hard for the top stop with her attractive head and clean outline.Beautiful. 

G3 - Japanese Shiba Inu Mrs R, Mr T & Mrs D Adey & Campbell’s Burwen I Am The Intercept at Echezeaux A worthy G3 from this strong group was the Japanise Shiba Inu who was just built so well and moved with such light quick steps. 

G4 – Bulldog Mrs A T Perks Britishluxe Day O’Reckoning Strong masculine male, balanced and in proportion. Lovely sound movement. 

Utility Puppy Group PG1 – Dalmation Miss E Mather’s Taliory Saddleside Legend Took my eye as he came into the ring for his construction and soundness. Lovely head and expression. Good outline and all in proportion with clean lines. Moved with Smooth powerful long strides. 

PG2 - Poodle (Standard) Mrs N Garbutt’s Kertellas Live Your Dream at Tianola Another quality youngster who is just built so well. A star in the making I’m sure.

PG3 - Boston Terrier Mrs H Gracie’s Frenbosen Graces Secret Lovely compact Boston with clean even markings and easy graceful movement.

PG4 - Kooikerhondje Mrs T Matheson-Smith’s Middanwinter Pony Express Stylish, quality male who moved with excellent ground cover action.
