Firstly many thanks to my two “super stewards”, Carole & Mark Johnson who kept the ring running smoothly, your help was very much appreciated

SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS

Numerically quite a strong entry but sadly not consistent in quality but I found some very pleasing winners in my classes.

POST GRAD (8/0)

1. Wood MALAROC RAINYDAZE, sable bitch not quite in her best jacket but nothing to hide. Up to size but has a pleasing head of good proportions, well placed eye and moved well – Reserve BOB

2. Moore – JACANSHE BE OUR GUST AT SANTIARA, lovely tricolour in super coat and body, well presented but lost out to winner as I felt he was too full in eye.

OPEN DOG (4/0)

1. MOHNESEE BLACK AGAIN, very appealing tri of good size. Ample bone. Pleasing head and expression, moved quite well.

2. Eldred – DIPPERSMOOR STAR STRUCK AT BELTHORNE ShCm, another well made boy who I though would be my winner, but lost out on outline, as I would prefer more length of neck to complete the picture.

OPEN BITCH (6/0)

1. Hirst – SUNDARK SIMPLY A STAR, another tricolour of correct size. Very pleasing head, good eye set and shape. Well used ears. Good reach of neck and good outline. Moved with drive. BOB& G4

2. Mitchell & Fiddock, another well made triclour of good size but for me just failed in expression and was not as positive on move as winner.

BORDER COLLIE

POST GRAD (4/0)

1. Lampler PENCOPPEN GOOD TIMIN’ – nicely made boy of good size, but was not happy in surroundings and therefore did not move out well as his construction implied

2. Hartfield – MOSHANTA MAY CONTAIN NUTS, my star of the day. Very impressive 8month boy of correct size. Lovely bone and good balanced head, pleasing eye and moved with freedom took Reserve BOB and BPIB easily and then my pleasure to award him Pastoral Puppy G1.

OPEN (6/2)

1. Hartfield – MOSHANTA MOVIN ON JW ShCm, lovely mature bitch, of good size, correct movement especially when viewed in profile. Good head with ample muzzle and nice eye placing. In super condition, well deserve BOB and eventual Pastoral G3

2. Garland – TONKORY DOYLE JW ShCm VW, very well made boy of good size, good neck and shoulder, good bone and body. Compared to winner he was a lot heavier in build.

1. Hillier – MYBEARDS MESSENGER well made boy of good size and body. Pleasing head and eye. In good body and coat, moved easily - BOB

2. Burdett-Coutts – DOBRANY DORIANBLUE ODYSSI AT CHREVLE ShCm, much bigger in body and bone, again in good coat, preferred head carriage and quality of winner.

POST GRAD (2/1)

1. Argyle – ELYGRA ICE PRECIOUS MOMENT, promising youngster with a good head and eye. Well made body with ample bone, just needs to learn to hold tail on the move.

OPEN (3/2)

1. Argyle – ELYGRA ICE POETRY IN MOTION, litter sister to winner in previous class but outshines her on maturity and movement. Good head, lovely expression. Liked her neck and shoulders, moved well. BOB & BPIB and Puppy G4

1. Lee – RHIEW RAVENS ROYAL TOWER, not quite the type I was looking for as he appeared far too heavy. Although he moved well I would prefer a more correct front assembly and better ear carriage. RBOB

1. Lee – BALLETCOR MORNING SYMPHONY FOR AMENBURY ShCm Jun Ch. Much more typical in breed type, good head and neck. Held Top-line on move, could be a little more positive in rear movement. BOB

1. Carter – VICTORY WIND’S ORANGE MECANIQUE FOR KARMELIANN, young male of correct size. Good head, well placed shoulders, held a good top-line on move. RBOB

OPEN (3/0)

1. O’Brien – GWENCARD POEM MAN, well made boy of good size, pleasing head and expression. Well presented good bone and moved with drive. BOB

2. Ransom – OSMART JESS DARK DUCHESS FOR TRYSTAM, well made bitch but for me and tad too heavy in body. Lovely head and also in good coat.

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD

GRADUATE (4/2)

1. Richards - BIRKCROSS SECRET AGENT WITH ACCRA JW, Blue Merle of good size, not too happy moving on floor but took this class on movement alone.

2. Lee – VILLANYDA WIZARD’S APPRENTICE FOR AMENBURY – quite nice boy but not as refined in head as I prefer and was not happy moving as appeared to “pin” on his front movement.

LIMIT (1/0)

1. Lee – AMBERSLADE MORSE CODE FOR AMENBURY ScCm, well made boy, again heavier in head than I prefer his make and shape scored enough to win BOB, although I would prefer lower tail carriage

OPEN (4/2)

1. Richards – ACCRA MYSTICAL MAN, well constructed boy who was not happy moving out freely on the floor today. Liked his head pattern and bone, RBOB

2. Lee – LOUIS BLANCHETTE AT AMENBURY – blue merle of good size but I would prefer a much shorted back as this spoilt his outline. Moved easily on good feet.

LIMIT (2/1)

1. Cooper ELBERETH KIPPIS TO PAVOSKAS ShCm, well made and in excellent coat of correct type. Loved his head and expression. Good ear set - moved with drive in all directions hard to believe his age of 11 years but deserved RBOB and 2nd in a strong Veteran class.

OPEN (2/1)

1. Cooper – CH PAVCOSKAS ALY ARTU JW ShCm, what can you say about his lad who entered the ring, although alone and took it over. Moved with drive and accuracy in both directions. Very pleasing head, good eye, like his length of neck and back and presented very well – pleased to give him BOB

1. Organ, KOMBINIERT GERTI AT CHAPLEFORGE, young bitch who did not stay for a report!

OPEN (4/1)

1. Fenn/Foster – CHALKSVILLE COOL RUNNING OVER JANEBURN ShCm ShEx, this boy instantly appealed for his breed type without any exaggerations in body or movement. Liked his balanced head, well placed eye. Good shoulders and top line, moved easily BOB and G1

2. Shaw – ASTRADINE KEEPSAKE JW, bitch of good type but not as mature as winner. Good head but did not cover the ground with the ease of winner

1. Walmsley & Frost – TRELOWEN AMELIA AT FROSTISEN, young bitch of good size and shape. Pleasing head with a nice eye and ear set. Held top-line on move – pleased to award BOB

1. Walmsley – BLAKK EXTAXY VAN KOEKIE’S BRANCH, well made black male of good size. Lovely expression, moved a little wide at rear but settled later RBOB

1. Hackney – STARVON BRING IT ON, nicely constructed boy of good size. Good bone and feet. Moved well – BOB

1. Hackney – STARVON ALL ABOUT ME, similar in type to previous class winner. Good bone, pleasing head and eye. Good shoulders not as free moving today RBOB

2. Poulton – MEDDOBE SPICE GIRL, 3yo bitch of good size but lacked bone and substance for me. Moved well

1. Sweet – ARUNDALL EBONY, young black bitch who needs to mature. Good head for her age, liked her shoulder angulations. Good top-line and moved quite well

1. Craker - RUMBA Z KUZNI CHAMPUIONOW AT CRAKEBRIE, very nice bitch of correct size and shape. Well furnished coat with good texture. Pleasing head and expression, moved easily. BOB

1. Hick, OLDOAK MEMORY MAKER AT LANXON, lovely type OES in super coat, body and condition. Lovely head and eye moved easily and took this class easily

1 Denton – BRACKENHAYE FIELDS OF GOLD well made Smooth collie of good substance. Pleasing balanced head, good shoulders and top-line. Moved with drive to take this class and BEST AVNSC

2 Mournebrake Bad Biscuit, what a little star this boy is, full of character and well made in all departments. Good coat, lovely bone for age, and moved easily.

AV PASTORAL VETERAN (19/6)

Lovely class of Veterans who really enjoyed their day out. Difficult to split some but taking this class with style was:
