Cocker Spaniel Open (3)

1st Trinant Top Hat to Mollyfleck. Blue roan puppy dog of good substance with strong bone. Pleasing masculine head with a square muzzle and well developed skull, clean through the neck and shoulder flowing nicely into a firm topline held well on the move. Showed plenty of drive with a very busy tail. BP BOB PGrp 2

2nd Cassom Mary Poppins at Dizzneestar. Pretty blue roan bitch a little finer all through that 1st. Very feminine head with lowset ear and dark eye, Had enough bone and a strong rear showing clean movement.

American Cocker Spaniel Open (2)

1st Alkimadus Gwyn Ben Y Gardigan JW ShCM. Well made b/t dog, correct length of muzzle, strong in stop with a forward looking eye. Muscular neck, well set shoulder and compact body. Sweeping rear quarters and sloping topline finished the picture. Moved out straight and true to win BOB but a change in handler seemed to affect his movement in later classes and the group

2nd Alkimadus Ruben James. Buff dog well up to size with a good head and eye. Deep chest with plenty of rib, slightly longer cast than my winner and not as forward on the move.

Irish Setter Open (3, 1 abs)

1st Rappatty Starlight over Alolfrana JW ShCM. What a beautiful eye catching bitch presented in gleaming condition who did not disappoint when I got my hands on her. The most elegant and feminine of heads with that quizzical expression that is so delightful. Clean crested neck flowing smoothly into well laid back shoulders and good return of upper arm, deep ribs under a firm topline and broad well muscled stifles. Great reach and drive on the move all finished off with a flowing rich chestnut coat. BOB Group 1

2nd Redeshka Sweet Gypsy Rose. Good sized bitch with a feminine head not quite as chiselled as 1st but nicely shaped brow and good back skull. Well set shoulder with good return of upperarm, pleasing in body with plenty of depth and rib. Firm rear quarters but not quite the drive of my winner.

English Setter

Grad (4, 1 abs)

1st Samelen GI Blues at Alolfrana. Young dog just over 12 months, he has the most appealing head with melting expression, good neck into layback of shoulder, short coupled, broad in thigh, round bone and oval feet, moved well driving off short hocks, using his tail well, just a little loose in front at the moment

2nd Wattlewood Silver Arrow to Monbrec. Mature dog with a masculine, kind expression. Good front assembly and well sprung rib, not quite the rear of 1st and tended to lose his topline a little on the move.

3rd Alolfrana N’All That Jazz

Open (5)

1st SHCH Ravensett Jail House Rocks Alolfran JW ShCM.Fully mature dog with a masculine head, good depth and length of muzzle, soft brown eye and well shaped skull. Flowed through the neck and shoulders with deep well sprung rib and short coupling. Excellent bone and substance and muscled rear gave clean true movement. BOB Group 2

2nd Gemsett Pole Position for Monbrec. Mature boy with the most handsome head of excellent proportions, Strong front assembly, good spring of rib and well angulated stifles. Not quite as strong in topline as 1st. Moved with good forward reach.

3rd Samelen GI Blues at Alolfrana.

Weimaraner Open (2, 1abs)

1st Gunalt Sugar Plum at Rhydawel.Powerful bitch with plenty of substance and a firm outline. Nicely shaped eye in a well worked head, a touch more foreface would balance out better for me. Strong neck leading smoothly into laidback shoulder. Held her topline well driving around the ring from a strong rear. BOB

Pointer Open (3)

1st Bonnygate Miss Quiz at Junnerfly. Delicate, feminine headed bitch with pleasing eye. Lovely in outline with balanced angulations fore and aft, strong neck into firm topline, good depth of chest, developed rear quarters, moved well off tight feet BOB

2nd Tyremy Southseaspice ShCM. Well built b/w bitch with a typical head and strong neck. Well set shoulders with a nicely made forehand, strong throughout the body just tended to round her rump when standing. Showed reach and drive on the move.

3rd Ridanflight A Rose

GSP Open (3, 1 abs)

1st Waldburg Solar Eclipse. Has good breed type and all the essentials just carrying too much weight today which did spoil her outline. Would love to see her with a trim outline as she moved with a pleasing action BOB

2nd Waldburg Indus. Very much at the rangy stage with plenty of bone and size. Not as together on the move as 1st

GWP Open (4, 3abs)

1st Mustwork Unique. Strong minded young bitch who made her handler work. Well built with a lovely clean outline. Good head with a tidy beard and cheeky eye, just needs to finish and soften which should come with maturity.Plenty of rib with good coupling and powerful rear. When she settled she moved with excellent reach and drive. BOB Group 3

AVNSC Gundog Grad (2)

1st Trixhund Creg Ny Baa. ESS Well balanced head with enough work in it, soft expressive brown eye under a good brow with gently rounded backskull. Strong neck leading to beautiful forehand, balanced ratios of body to length of leg with correct bone. Flowing topline with firm coupling and wide well shaped stifles. Great to watch on the move with that distinct front action and driving rear. An exciting prospect. BAVNSC PGrp 1 Grp 4 BPIS

2nd Knuckerhole Blaze of Glory. I was very taken with this sweet Sussex puppy, just loved his head and expression with nothing overdone. Excellent shoulders and cracking depth of body for one so young. He pushed my winner hard but not as developed in quarters as 1 at this time. A steady mover

1st Trimere Total Obsession with Trixhund ShCM. 9 year old ESS who melted my heart, although grey frosted her beautiful head showed classic lines with clear brown eye and soft fluting. Best of front assemblies which she really used on the move. I was told after this was her retirement show and felt honoured to have had the privilege of judging her final appearance in the ring. BV

1st Mopszawawas Freddie TAF. Smart Pug with the best of heads, not too much wrinkle and open nares, bright well set eyes and forward facing ears. Compact, cobby body with a level topline and tightly curled tail. Steady and true on the move

3rd Wolfscastle Rumpy Pumpy Whippet.

1st Frishbeck Guitarman. WHWT Very smart all through, of correct size and substance with a clean outline. Good head with lovely pigmentation and well set ear. Plenty of harsh coat in good condition. Strode out well.

2nd Judeffrey Jovial of Ringablok. French Bulldog Square in head, broad muzzle, well padded cheeks. Round eye, finely wrinkled forehead. Wide set Bat Ears of good size and shape.. Good depth to chest and enough cut up. Sound hindquarters, with well let down hocks.. Just preferred expression and maturity of 1

2nd River Spirit of Dapperdax Upstanding smart Welsh Terrier with forward temperament. Good head clean back skull balanced with foreface. Well set ears which he used all the time. Balanced throughout, firm topline showing strength through loin and well-muscled quarters. Moved soundly and freely

I was disappointed exhibitors chose this time to question the qualification of the dogs entered with the steward. The entry had been available for all to see prior to the class and it was sad to see newer exhibitors being put under such pressure. Hopefully this will not occur in the future and any questions will be taken up with the secretary long before the start of the class.

1st Sevarna Catalonias Angel. Pleasing head of good proportions with a blunt muzzle, round eye, excellent pigmentation, fringed well set ear, firm through the neck with balanced angulation. Strong topline held well on the move

2nd Sevarna Delightful Dilys. Most of the comments on the winner could be applied here, I just felt today she was not as flowing in movement and lost her topline on a couple of occasions.

1st Amadayus Pandora of Dapperdax. Smart Welsh Terrier with a keen expression, good ears and dark eyes. Tidy in front clean neck into good shoulders, short level back and tail on top with strong quarters. Moved with drive

2nd Aethwy Winter Wonderland at Rhiwelli (ATC TAF). Merle Cardigan Pleasing head and expression, strong in front and top-line with plenty of rib and a good back end. Moved out well

3rd Wattlewood Silver Arrow to Monbrec

1st CH Larath Vanos of Morolwg. GSD all male and oozing breed type, plenty of strength and wisdom in his head and expression. Loved his powerful shoulders and deep well ribbed body. Clean strong rear giving sound driving movement.

2nd IrCH Rhiwelli Out of the Blue. Very type Cardigan with a masculine head, well set ears, strong through the neck, just not as firm on the move

1st Wattlewood Silver Arrow to Monbrec Matching English Setters, well matched in size. Moved as one

2nd Penymorfa Surabaya Sun of Ringablok Very similar French Bulldogs just a small disparity in size
