Pointer

Puppy (3, 1abs)

1st Gorrian, Gorrian & Henry Penwest Peroni. What a promising young B/W dog puppy with a beautifully flowing outline. Balanced head with a defined stop and correct eye colour giving a kind expression. Strong neck leading smoothly into shoulders, pleasing amount of forechest with good brisket and deep ribs for one so young. Pleasing amount of oval bone and tight arched feet. Well-muscled rear gave driving movement BP PGp 3

2nd Findlay Chamelia Lagertha. Very pretty bitch with a feminine head and expression, correct muzzle, clearly defined stop and balanced backskull, thin, tidy ear leathers, clean through the neck and shoulder. Not as mature in front as 1st but enough rib for her age. Strong nicely shaped stifles gave plenty of power on the move, not quite as tidy in front action

Junior (1)

1st MacKay Sharnphilly Hot Fuzz. 13 month dog very much at the inbetween stage at the moment with quite a bit of growing on to do. Kind masculine head, slightly concave muzzle and balanced backskull. Good reach of neck, balanced angulation front and rear. Not settled on the move so a little erratic

SPYearling (2)

1st Gerrard Carmandine Count on Me. Fully mature, eye catching B/W boy with a superb flowing outline. Soft masculine expression with a well-shaped eye, the correct amount of stop and slightly concave muzzle. Thin well set ears framed a well developed skull. Powerful neck, good layback of shoulder with ample brisket and pleasing spring of rib. Correct bone with strong sinewy legs, ample muscling on the rear gave a strong action, would love to see him moving in a large open space as he did not have enough time to really get into his stride. Well deserved BOB

2nd MacKay Sharnphilly Hot Fuzz repeat

PGrad (2)

1st Gerrard & Galloway Sharnphilly Santorelli with Carmandine JW. Strongly built dog with plenty of size and substance. Balanced masculine head with good backskull. Shoulders sloping with good layback, excellent in front with plenty of depth and spring of rib under a firm topline. Moved true just not quite as positive as the yearling dog in rear action when it came to the challenge.

2nd Fairburn & Hinton Davigdor Blackwych by Fleurfield. Feminine and mature of pleasing size and substance. Gentle expression with kind well shaped eye and balanced ratios to the head. Good angulation front and rear with depth of chest. Appeared to lack confidence which impaired her movement.

Open Dog (3, 1abs)

1st Gerrard Hookwood Showpiece at Cardmandine ShCM. Lovely shape to this boy very smooth outline. Plenty of foreface and a gentle grave expression, would prefer a little more stop and backskull but ears were well set. Strong through the neck with laid back shoulders and a lovely forechest, deep well sprung ribs under a firm topline. Well muscled shapely rear gave driving movement when settled

2nd MacKay Fleurfield Steals the Dream ShCM. This boy was all male, masculine head with good backskull, powerful through the neck and shoulders with a deep chest. Very strong throughout with wide quarters. Very true on the move really covering the ground. Close decision between these boys, the winner was just that little more refined for me.

Open Bitch (3, 2abs)

1st Gerrard Carmandine Call My Bluff. Dainty bitch who was full of fun and energy, very pretty head with balanced muzzle and skull, flowed through the neck and shoulder to a firm topline. Deep well sprung rib leading to a nicely shaped rear. Fabulous slashing tail action with plenty of drive.

WSS

Limit (2)

1st Dods & Caffrey Slapestones Summer Tide at Balcraig. feminine balanced head and kindly expression. Strong muscular neck leading into correctly placed shoulders. She stands fore square on well boned legs with lovely angulation. Good body, big deep ribs and firm top line. Her strong broad quarters enabled her to move out positively showing plenty of drive, she worked hard to win BOB

2nd Martin & Dyer Islanza Royale Among Tylwyth. Kind expression with a nicely shaped eye, would prefer a touch more foreface for balance. Clean through the neck with a well set shoulder and strong bone. Good width of thigh gave balanced movement from the rear.

Open (2)

1st Caffrey & Dods Gellyburn Gaelic Damsel at Balcraig. This bitch brought me in mind of the Dalati lines I grew up around, Classic head just greying out but clear of eye and gentle in expression. She has a pleasing balanced outline with plenty of rib and a broad well muscled rear. Kept her topline well on the move. It was so close for BOB she just lost out on the tiniest of margins when it came to the final challenge.

2nd Martin & Dyer Benton Small Talk Among Tylwyth (imp Fin) Another quality bitch unlucky to meet the winner on such good form. Feminine throughout with a kind expression and clean cheeks. Good length of neck leading into well set shoulders and pleasing front assembly, deep ribs with a firm coupling. Not quite as firm in topline on occasions but moved true.

American Cocker Spaniel

Open (5, 1abs)

1st Taylor Light of Joy Iz Mazhorngo Lada (imp Rus) Impressive particolour with a lovely flow from nose to tail. He has a masculine head with a rounded backskull, forward looking eye and good length of muzzle. Super length of neck showing the slight arch. Well developed through the body, deep with well sprung ribs leading to a well constructed rear. He was very full of himself but when his handler got his attention he moved out smartly BOB

2nd Stokes & Stokes Arrowbien Believe in Magic at Twizeltree. Gorgeous buff bitch of just 9 months but has lots of promise. Loved her head with its plush muzzle and bright intelligent eye. She has a good length of neck which flows well into smooth shoulders and is well ribbed with good depth to forechest for one so young. She has excellent muscle-tone and real strength to her quarters which showed in her ground covering movement. Pushed the winner hard, just not the full depth and spring of rib yet which I’m sure will come with age. BP

3rd Taylor Mischtikals Cookies n Cream
