Open Show 6th April 2019 Judge Mrs Brenda F Jones

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this friendly show also a thank you to my steward for keeping things flowing.

Terriers were lacking in numbers this may have been due to a clash of dates with the terrier show, However the hounds were numerically good although dominated with the dachshunds.

Handling

Such a shame that numbers are decreasing for these classes all over the country, As it’s a great time to lay the foundations for those handlers and potential judges of the future

Young Kennel Club

A, 6-11yrs

1st Calleigh Hird (Field SPL)

Im sure Calleigh has a bright future, once she learns to take her time and not rush, her ring patterns were good and communication with her dog was flowing. well done.

B, 12-17YRS

1ST Jessica Cooper ( Golden Ret)

As a learner starting out Jessica will gain confidence, she needs to talk to her dog more and listen to what the judge is asking her to do and if not sure ask the judge to repeat it, also remember the golden rule keeping your dog between you and the judge, im sure in time it will come together, well done

Others absent

C, 18-24 yrs

1st Chloe Roberts (CKCS) Best YKC Handler

Well although Chloe was alone in this class, she still completed ring patterns and all that was asked and fulfilled all the Handling requirements with a lot of confidence.

Adult Handling

D, 25-45yrs

1st, Charlotte Warren-Sinclaire

This lady did all she was asked, just lost out by rounding off corners

E, 46-59yrs

1st, Karen Plummer. Best Adult Handler & overall in show

Karen was confident but not cocky, she completed all that was asked without a fuss and kept her dogs attention at all times, giving reassurance and reward, ring patterns were precise and completed as was all that was asked of her.

2nd, L McFarlane

Another handler that knew all that was required just slipping up once cost her the class.

F, 60yr +

1st Jillian Sanford

Im sure these two would change places from show to show. Ring patterns were easily completed, but presentation needs a little work.
