IRISH RED & WHITE SETTERS

OPEN. (1)

1 Cuddy’s Sh. Ch. Taxus Golden Prince in Balbriggan JW – standing alone but a very worthy winner and I was delighted to see him go BIS4 later in the day. Mature dog with a masculine head, kind expression. Good bone and straight front. Correct front angulation with a good forechest, deep chest, firm topline and strong hindquarters. Well presented, showed well and moved with style and drive.

IRISH SETTERS

JUNIOR (2)

1 Williamson’s Bluesprings Picture This - 15 months dog who scored over his sister on maturity. Nicely balanced for age. Super head and expression, good length of neck into well angulated forequarters. Strong bone and pasterns, and tight feet. Very good depth of chest for age, good topline and hindquarters. Moved stylishly. BOB

2 Williamson’s Bluesprings Sunday Girl - many of the same points apply. Sweet head, good neck and shoulders, and I preferred her forechest to that of her brother. Good bone, front and feet. Preferred stifles of 1. Took time to settle on the move.

YEARLING (3

2 B. Sunday Girl

1 Williamson’s Caskeys Solar Eclipse at Bluesprings - masculine head with kind expression. Good bone, front and feet but angulation overall not as good as BOB. Deep mature body with good forechest, short loin, good topline. Looked good on the move. RBOB

1 Watts’ Oakmarsh Freedom - 14 months bitch with very sweet head of correct breadth, and lovely expression. Super forequarters with good forechest, deep though the heart and robustly built throughout. Short loin, correct topline, good stifles . Good waterproof coat Strode out well with style and drive. BOB

Open (2)

1 Watts’ Oakmarsh Acorn – 9 year old bitch who could show the youngsters how to move. Correct head shape but would prefer more femininity. Strong bone, good front and feet. Good forechest and deep mature body. Correct topline and strong hindquarters. Dense coat RBOB

2 Dennis’ Oakmarsh Florence - smaller bitch, and would have liked a more domed skull. Correct angulation both ends. Straight front and good feet. Not in good coat today. More with drive.
