Herts & Essex Border Canine Society

High Roller Stakes (29, 3)

I was delighted to be asked as the “Secret Judge” for this prestigious stakes class. It was a high quality entry with breeds represented across all seven groups. I shortlisted 11 dogs - all of whom were worthy of a place.

1st Allan & Winfrow’s Ch Allmark The Sequel JW. Australian Shepherd. Stunning dog who took my eye on my first walk around the ring. Beautifully balanced all through. Good head shape of correct skull/muzzle proportions. Clean, slightly arched neck leading to well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep chest. Well sprung rib cage and strong loin. Well muscled hindquarters. Stands square all round. Excellent bone and feet. Coat of good texture. On the move he was effortless maintaining his topline throughout. Presented and handled to perfection.

2nd Slough’s Special Edition of Persimoone (imp) Pomeranian. Well balanced. Very compact. True head with foxy expression. Short neck with well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest with well sprung ribcage. High set tail - carried correctly. In abundant coat. Brisk and accurate movement.

3rd Bowen-Brooks’ Tenshilling Blowin Smoke. Pointer. Very impressive dog. Well balanced all through with correct breed outline. Clean head with good chiselling beneath the eyes. Strong, slightly arched neck. Well laid shoulder. Deep brisket. Well ribbed back. Strong, well muscled hindquarters with well let down hocks. On the move he excelled - true daisy cutting action with good use of his tail.
