Many thanks to the exhibitors for the opportunity to judge your ECS and to the Officers and Committee for the opportunity. I was very pleased with my final line up and could easily have given more top awards if they had been available.
Class one: Veteran Dog/Bitch (1:1)
Class two: Minor Puppy Dog (1:0)
First: Bayliss Penmartan Chatty Man for Wilanorah BPIS
A promising puppy of 7 months. In outline he is balanced, short, square and compact with a good topline. He has a lovely head with square muzzle and tight eye. He has good ribbing and depth of chest with tight, neat feet. A well muscled puppy in good overall condition. He was presented well in full puppy coat. He moved like a dream reaching out well and driving from behind. I was delighted to award him Best Puppy in Show.
Class three: Minor Puppy Bitch (3:1)
First: Prydderch Rockllocers Honeysuckle RBPIS
Blue roan. This puppy has a feminine head of good proportions. She presents a pleasing profile of a finer type. She has all the time ahead to develop in body as she grows. Her reach of neck is good as is her topline which I preferred to (2). She moved soundly, but unfortunately lacked a little confidence on the day. I was pleased to see her being sympathetically handled. RBPIS.
Second: Proudler Kimapa Kwarta Korki.
This orange roan puppy has a lovely head of good proportions. She has more bone than (1) with good ribbing. She toed out a little in front and her top line wasn’t secure. To her credit, she is a happy, confident baby and this shows when she moves around the ring.
Class four: Puppy Dog (2:1)
First: Prydderch Rockllocers Break the Bank
Gold puppy dog. Good head and dark, tight eye with a gentle expression. Moderate and strong neck. He held his topline and moved happily. I would prefer more rib and width of body to complete the picture.
Class five: Puppy Bitch no entries
Class six: Junior Dog (4:2)
First: Lowery Amaroanne Theos JW
Blue Roan dog of a type I like. Balanced and compact presenting a pleasing outline. Muzzle square and is on level plane with his well-developed skull. Tight eyes with the gentlest of expression. Good front assembly with straight, well boned front legs. Strong topline, good spring of rib and short coupling through his strong loin. He moved well showing off his happy disposition.
Second: Sewell Kerriglow Dream Again for Quattrozampe
Strong, masculine black dog. Good head and eye. Moderate reach of neck. Strong at the shoulder with good bone all through. Good spring of rib and strong body.
Well muscled. Moved happily but preferred the overall balance of (1) on the move.
Class seven: Junior Bitch (3:1)
First: Kengyelics Hebdene Harbour Nights
Black bitch with a feminine head and eye with the gentlest of expressions. Good forehand with well-developed chest/depth at brisket and return of upper arm and good spring of rib. Short coupled with good width behind. A merry cocker who moved well with confidence, holding her topline.
Second: Hackett Lindridge Blue Star
A lovely blue roan bitch of a type I really like. Short, compact, square and balanced. She has a good head and eye. Good front assembly with a well-developed forechest and good return of upper arm, straight front legs and good bone. Her topline is strong as is her body with well sprung ribs. She has good width behind. She is sound and moved well though lacked a little confidence in this venue. A close decision; she is definitely one to watch.
Class eight: Yearling Dog/Bitch (6:1)
First: D and S Young Canyonn Could It Be Magic
This beautiful black bitch stood out in her class for overall balance and type. She has the sweetest expression and a lovely head which is square in muzzle, with nice depth to the flews. Muzzle to skull are in good proportions. I like her forehand; in particular her length of neck and the layback of shoulder. She has a strong, level topline held well on the move and excellent ribbing. She moved really well and on the go away the good width behind was apparent.
Second: Aykroyd Clydesian Desperado
A black dog with a masculine head but not overdone. He has a gentle return of upper arm. I would like a little more width of chest in front. He is nicely ribbed. He is a happy, merry cocker which really showed when he moved around the ring.

Class fourteen: Limit Bitch (4:2)
First: Nugent Nulea Destiny BIS
There is so much to like about this light blue roan bitch from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail. I was delighted to award her BIS. A super, balanced bitch without exaggeration exuding cocker type. I liked everything about her but in particular her short, cobby frame; feminine head of good proportions which is finely chiselled with a distinct stop and her most gentle, expressive eyes. She excels in forehand with such a well-developed forechest of good depth and width, good return of upper arm and well boned, straight front legs. Her moderate neck flows into good, well laid back and finely sloping shoulders. Her body is strong, yet feminine, excelling in well sprung rib and a strong topline. Tight at elbow but not restricting her movement.
Her ribs reach well back to her short coupling and her hindquarters are wide, well- rounded and well-muscled. All the sum of her parts fit together so well into the whole and it was a delight to be able to have hands on to fully appreciate her. So sound, she moved well driving around the ring with her ever wagging tail. A merry cocker.
Second: Saunders Moonstryder Eliza Taylor at Oxfordogs
Blue roan bitch with a lovely head. Good forechest and return of upper arm. Steady topline and is cobby in outline. She moved steadily.

A balanced, blue roan boy of good cocker type. I was pleased to award him RBIS and BOS. Another with much to like. Short, square, compact and cobby. With a nice head and the most expressive eyes. He has well laid back, finely sloping shoulders. He flows in outline, from his moderate, strong neck through to his tail set. His good topline was held on the move. His well sprung ribs are of a good length and lead into a short coupled and strong loin. He is well muscled through and is strong and well let down at the hock. I love his balance which shows when he moves. There is more to come from this lovely dog. One to watch.
