PASTORAL

Bearded Collie

SpYearlng: (1,0) 1st Salmon’s Potterdale Piper, 22 month male, masculine well proportioned head, good strength to muzzle. Nicely angled front assembly, good neck leading onto a flowing topline and nicely sloping croup. Well let down behind with good width and parallel hocks. Very nicely balanced profile well handled and presented, moved well. (BOB)

Open: (1,0) 1st Lee-Finglas’ Braemoor’s Angel Delight With Richeath (imp NDL), 6 yr old bitch, finer proportions all through, equal muzzle to skull proportions, very feminine expression. Stood on straight columns, muscular front assembly, lovely length to ribs giving desired length of back, moderate rear angulation, moved ok. A little soft in topline on the move. (RBOB)

Rough Collie

SpYearling: (1,0) 1st Lister’s Ladnar Quick Step At Newarp, young Bitch with good typey head, although her ears could be better, in a lovely profuse coat, well off for bone and substance, neat feet. A little overweight which affected movement, good spring of ribs and pleasing profile.

Limit(1,0) 1st Hull’s Lizmark Gold Sovereign, Two tears old, attractive head and expression with good ears, in correct coat, enough bone, well proportioned with correct length of ribs and couplings leading onto a well made croup, would prefer a little better muscle condition and a little slack in pasterns, she was a little reluctant to move in the scorching heat today. (RBOB)

Open (3,0) 1st Benton & Smith’s Brooklynson El Dorado, 2 yr old male, he had the best head and expression of the day, with lovely correct ears. Straight front, good bone, well angulated. In lovely coat, well proportioned profile, elegant topline, well let down behind, and very good rear assembly which showed in his super movement. Clear winner today and pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Hull’s Lizmark Gold Standard ShCM, veteran dog of 8 years, he has a good head and expression, unmistakably masculine, but not too strong. Loved his beautiful mane and abundant coat. Again another one that would benefit for being in harder condition, but a good exhibit for his age, and still a fairly good mover.

3rd Lister’s Jotars Platinum Moon At Newarp.

Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) I was honoured to have a wonderful entry of truly lovely quality Corgis both Cardigan and Pembroke.

Puppy (1,0) 1st Frosdick’s Mistycor Apollo Back To Black For Kalwig (imp Rus), 8 month boy, so full of type, a wonderful expression and head, lovely front assembly, stood on strong legs and powerful feet, already strength in the neck set on well and leading onto a solid topline. Truly loved his angulation and substance, a really jaunty mover, such a promising youngster, he performed well in the heat of the day. Honoured to award him BP and see him go on to win PG2.

Limit (1,0) 1st Frosdick’s Kalwig Roulette, female almost 4 years old, lovely head and ear carriage, nicely pigmented eyes. Nice angles to front, good length of neck, well let down behind and a good solid mover. (RBOB)

Open (1,0) 1st Frosdick’s Kalwig Ryazan ShCM, 6 and a half year old male, loved his workmanlike attitude, good foxylike head and alert ears, legs slightly bowed with the right amount of turn of feet. Super strong topline, exudes the impression of true cattle dog in his driving movement. Pleased to award him BOB.

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)

Puppy (2,0) so spoilt in the quality of puppies exhibited today.

1st Down’s Elessar Royal Trinket, very feminine bitch, with straight front columns, strong topline, lovely substance, and a fabulous mover. Just a little close behind on the move today.

2nd Aylott’s Holly Pippin At Barwal, another lovely puppy, I liked her a lot, just needs more confidence , which will come in time. A little soft in topline at the moment but that should strengthen up as she matures, has super width behind and well angled and muscled for age.

SpYearling (1,0)1st Down’s Elessar Royal Salute, litter brother to winner of puppy class, another lovely puppy, he has a fabulous head, with well placed alert ears, very endearing masculine expression, good dentition, already developed a good strong neck and has excellent front and rear angulation.. Stood on good straight columns, solid topline, nice croup and set on of tail. My notes say super super mover and he certainly was, pleased to award him BP & BOB, he went on to win Pastoral G2 and Pastoral Puppy G3.

Limit (1,0) Mitchell’s Elsmere Magic Gift, young bitch just over 18 months old, sadly a reluctant showgirl in the blazing heat of the day. A little untypical in head and expression, but had well set and alert ears, strong neck, excellent width of loin and held her topline well on the stack and on the move. Just a little close behind but a good mover.

Open (4,0) 1st Down’s Wallfugh Xmas Eggnog For Elessar (imp ITA), 3 year old bitch, stunning head, super proportions, solid topline, with good substance, lovely straight front columns and a really fabulous mover. RBOB

2nd Aylott’s Barwal Blazing Desert, 5 and a half year old dog, lovely head and ear carriage, well angled fore and aft, slightly longer coupled than winner.

3rd Legerton’s Ermyn Time To Dream For Solaw.

GUNDOG:

Flat Coated Retriever

Two Litter sisters in puppy both very raw at just 6 months old, but showing lots of potential.

Puppy (2,0) 1st Salt’s Levelmoor Black Adder, lovely typical head piece, well angled front and rear, with nicely laid shoulder and equal return of upper arm. At the moment she is more mature in build than her sister, which shows in a stronger topline on the move. Good length of rib and correct substance for age. Showed and handled well. BP pleased to see her awarded Gundog Puppy Group 3.

2nd Salt’s Levelmoor Acorn Antiques Via Wetnoses, litter sister to winner, slightly smaller and more compact in shape at the moment, but still very raw at just 6 months. Always a difficult task to show litter mates in the same class, and although not the confidence of her sister had moments where she showed well. I liked her head proportions better, she has a very attractive profile and on the move she has a better footfall when not pulling to get to her sister. Places I’m sure will change many times as the girls mature and develop.

SpYearling (2,0) As above

Limit (2,1) 1st Beeson’s Esined Pandora, two year old well angled bitch, good dentition and correct head. Straight front columns onto strong feet, good length of pasterns, neck well set on, would prefer a little more lay of shoulder, but nice equal return of upper arm, good length to ribs, strong loin, nice mover and pleasing type. Just needs to mature. BOB

Labrador Retriever

SpYearling (3,0) 1st Allen’s Warringah’s Wirrabara At Timouron, this exhibit just screamed Labrador. Lovely typical head, strong in muzzle, good neck, nicely muscled and set on well. Loved her angulation, fabulous moderate ribbing and super strong topline, she had good width of loin and was an excellent sound mover. BOB

2nd Allen’s Suttonpark Billet Doux For Timouron, slight older bitch than the winner, another nicely balanced head, good straight front, good length of upper arm and lay of shoulder, not quite the top line of the winner and if being picky she was a little closer behind on the move today. Presented and moved well. RBOB

3rd Searles’ Willokin’s Hot Totty For Cravessa.

Open (1,0) 1st Searles’ Willokin’s Hot Totty For Cravessa, my third in SpYearling, young bitch only 14 months old, she has a pleasing head shape, but perhaps a little strong for a female and a little short in muzzle. She is well ribbed with a strong loin and nicely coupled. Pleasing angulation fore and aft a little unlucky to meet 1 & 2 today.

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

Thankyou for a lovely entry, a few dogs had light eyes, which changes the expression and some were too open in front angulation to do the job they were bred for, all had good temperaments and as usual there was great sportsmanship amongst exhibitors.

Puppy (2,0) 1st Collins & Powley’s Deveron Duchess Of Danehaven, 8 month plain faced bitch, lovely wedge shaped head which appealed for balance and type. Stood on straight front columns, fair lay of shoulder, nice length of upper arm. Good proportions and moderate rear angulation. A finer type of bitch, she moved well and held a level topline on the move. Excellent reach and drive. A little pale in eye colour, but still has plenty of time to darken. BP

2nd Powley’s Gaberlunzie Parsnip, 11 month taller bitch, not as typical in head as winner and would prefer a little more length to muzzle, but still a good wedge shape and pleasing dark amber eye colour blending with coat. Nicely moderate angulation with no exaggeration. Just at the start of the rangy phase so looking a little long in leg at the moment. Needs time to come together.

SpYearling (4,0) 1st Westwood’s Eusanit Hot Totty, 13 month bitch, nice wedge shape head and correct ear set, would prefer a slightly darker eye, best front angulation in the class, good length of ribs and strong loin, very well angled rear assembly and well let down hocks on which she scored. Pleasing understated bitch without any exaggeration in construction or type. Wearing a correct lIghter shade of red coat of pleasing texture.

2nd Chapman’s Katimba Trebbiano At Dkai, 22 month old dog, darker red coloured coat who also had a light eye, good head proportions, well laid shoulder, with corresponding equal length and return of upper arm. A very good front assembly on which he really scored in this class. Excellent ribs, lovely efficient ground covering mover. Hind quarters are higher than withers at the moment with a soft topline on the stack, making him stood running down. I hope he strengthens in core as he matures to improve his outline.

3rd Burgess’ Melanitta Sinamay, wearing a close coat of a pleasing rich golden red colour, she presents a lovely outline and is a sound mover. Liked her rear angles and well let down hocks, giving her plenty of drive on the move. Strong level topline. I would prefer a slightly shorter muzzle and a bit more definition in stop, just wants for more angulation to her front assembly, but she has good length to upper arm.

Reserve, Fincham’s Danehaven Ralph, 18 month male, liked his type very much, attractive compact outline, in lovely coat , very typical head. Sadly carrying too much weight which affected his movement.

Limit (4,0) 1st Collins & Powley’s Danehaven Kovik, 3 year old handsome male of good substance, excellent proportions, strong straight columns, moderate length of neck with pleasing muscle tone, nicely short coupled shown in good coat and hard condition. Nicely angled fore and aft, moved very well with reach and drive. RBOB

2nd Westwood’s Eusanit Proper Job, young male only 13 months old, litter brother to first in SpYearling, correct wedge shaped head, which I preferred and was more typical than the winner. Nicely balanced and good proportions, straight front leading onto strong feet, really powerful mover. Just entering the rangy junior stage. Look forward to seeing him mature and body up.

3rd Chapman’s Decoymans The Dreamworker,

Open (3,3) 1st Westwood’s Eusanit Gonna Make You A Star, two year old bitch, she was on top form today, a very willing showgirl clearly enjoying her time in the ring. A very neatly made bitch, well proportioned, excellent lay of shoulder with equal length and correct return of upper arm. Solid level topline stacked and on the move, short couplings, corresponding rear assembly , well angulated and let down. Absolute pleasure to watch her driving and free flowing movement around the ring. BOB Gundog group 4.

2nd Westwood’s Multi Ch Eusanit Apple Of One’s Eye JW, another quality bitch, who I have admired many times at the ringside. Sadly not on her best form today. She has better substance than the winner, but was just carrying a little too much weight today. Another beautiful mover, who held her level topline on the stack and on the move. Not quite the showmanship of the younger bitch today.

3rd Powley’s NUC/Su(U)Ch NUCh SE U(U)Ch Chrilikas Eventyrlige Egon

American Cocker Spaniel

SpYearling (1,0) Dawson’s Adeva Magic Machinator At Luphenex, 12 month old dog, lovely head proportions, and well set ears. Good substance, short coupled, level topline. Very well let down hocks, with good width to rear quarters, nice muscle tone for age, sound mover, just needs to settle a little more, will come with maturit I hope he gains more in confidence as would like to see more drive from behind.

Limit (1,0) Wellsted’s Partisky N’vigie Bottoms Up, lovely head shape, strong stop, slightly arched neck, a little fine boned, put down in good coat, nicely ribbed and a strong mover.

Open (3,1) 1st Jenning’s Alibama Blackmail, 2 and a half year old black male, what an absolute cracker of a dog. Stunning in profile and on the move. Nothing exaggerated, excellent substance and bone, beautiful level topline, well let down. Loved everything about him. Such an efficient mover with powerful reach and drive, showing typical movement. Honoured to have been able to judge him and award BOB and later see him go on to win G1.

2nd Pridmore & Head’s Combleywood Al Be Back, 4 year old male, well made dog, slightly sloping topline, a little finer type, good profile when stacked and moved very well, nice compact exhibit. RBOB

English Springer Spaniel

SpYearling 1st Keely’s Alhambian Bon Scott, lovely headed young male, with kind and alert expression, strong neck, well laid shoulder, good length of upper arm, nice proportions, well angled rear assembly, excellent mover, just needs to mature and develop in ribs and substance.

Limit (1,0) Wilson’s Zawspring Summer Honey, 3 year old bitch, appealing coat markings, fabulous head, well proportioned, good length of muzzle, strong neck onto well laid shoulder and equal return of upper arm, brisket reaches to elbow, good straight front, with strong pasterns and the tightest of feet. Loved so much about her, strong mover with a solid level topline on the stack and on the move. Close up to winners.

Open (5,0) 1st Keely’s Shipden Alhambian Diana Dors, almost 2 and a half, this bitch presented with a good head and the best profile on the day. Well laid shoulder, level topline, balanced angulation nicely coupled and a great mover, presented and handled well in hard condition, BOB.

2nd Morgan’s Kennair Dreaming On A Star, 4 year old male, really liked his head, nice masculine expression, good substance, lovely neck set on well, good lay of shoulder another exhibit with a good strong topline, well let down hocks and moved with drive. RBOB

3rd Wilson’s Peasblossom Luna At Zawspring ShCM

Welsh Springer Spaniel

Puppy (3,3) 1st Bowd’s Lenamore Tiger Roll, 6 month young male, lovely head and expression, good outline, shown in excellent condition for age, nice length of rib, short strong loins, well let down behind, and moved so well for his age. BP

2nd Burchmore & Bowd’s Lenamore Auroras Encore, litter sister to winner, another with a lovely head and neck, nicely angled front assembly, with good lay of shoulder and equal return of upper arm, very nicely coupled for a bitch, she moved so well. A lot to like about her. Both very promising puppies.

3rd Lloyd’s Julita Ryatara.

Limit (1,0) 1st Burchmore & Bowd’s Bowdonia Moon River JW, mother to 1st and 2nd in the puppy class, and she has passed on many of her qualities. Good proportions to head, good dentition, lovely strong sloping neck onto well laid shoulder. She is well off for bone and pleasing substance, stood on nice tight feet. Best of profiles with a compact outline, well angled fore and aft, and so well balanced, a strong efficient ground covering mover holding a level topline. BOB

Open (1,0) 1st Rattray’s Blythway Sundown Gold, 5 year old bitch, nice head proportions, moderate angulation, steady mover, scores in ribs with nice width across loin, and well let down hocks, held a level topline and moved well. RBOB
