My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge and my congratulations on a well-run and successful show. I very much enjoyed my day judging some wonderful dogs so thank you to the exhibitors for your entry and taking my decisions in good spirit.

AV IMPORTED BREED REGISTER

Puppy 2,0

1st Martin, Scenterbay Nemesis, Black and Tan Coonhound, 9 mths, Bitch. Clean head with moderate stop, super expression, dark eye, ears well set. Clean neck into well laid shoulders. Well ribbed, good depth of chest. Firm topline, moved strong with good reach fore and aft carrying tail well. BPIR, RBIR

2nd Sladden, Khyannes Villette at Canemamans (Imp), Braque D’Auvergne 6mths, Bitch, this young lady was a tad unsettled at her first show but a lot to like. Gentle expression, dark eye, elegant neck set into well laid shoulders. Well ribbed. Moderate hind angulation. Moved positively when settled.

1st Milham, About a Girl the Winter Souls to Shadowshack (Imp), White Swiss Shepherd, just over the 12mths. Very well balanced with moderate angulation throughout. Correct bite, dark almond eye, loved her head properties. Moderate neck set into well laid shoulders, good depth and length of rib, level topline. Strong bone, feet tight and well arched. Moved well fore and aft. Best Import Reg.

BASSET GRIFFON VENDEEN (PETIT)

1st Woods, Beaujons Whisper, 3yr old bitch. Good muzzle / skull proportions with a dark oval eye portraying an intelligent expression. Good mouth. Supple Ears of required length set low. Strong neck into well laid shoulders. Tight elbows. Strong bone. Well ribbed. Would prefer a firmer topline. Moderately angulated throughout. Harsh jacket. Moved soundly and with drive. BOB

2nd Wood & Vind Ramvads, Beaujons Velvet 2yr old bitch. Another bitch with good muzzle/ skull proportions with a dark oval eye. Ears of required length and low set. Neck well set into shoulders and good length of rib, depth of chest. Strong boned. Level topline. Harsh jacket. A tad shorter in body than 1 and wasn’t really playing ball with her handler and thus a little erratic on the move. RBOB

BASSET HOUND

1st Jones, Clanwillow Bright by Design, 16 mth old bitch, really took my eye as so well balanced and unexaggerated in every way. Head properties were excellent with little wrinkle, dark eye of correct shape, black nose, correct scissor bite, ears set low of correct length. Strong neck set well into shoulders, good front. Well ribbed. Level topline held at all times. Strong short bone, tight elbows. Good ground clearance which showed in her free effortless movement. Tail set and carried well. BOB

2nd Jones, Clanwillow Centenary Dream 9mth old bitch, much of above applies, a promising puppy that when took notice of her handler showed her attributes well. Preferred the overall balance of 1. RBOB, BPIB.

2nd Jones, Clanwillow Shining Bright 16 mth old bitch. Good head properties, excellent bite, ears of correct length and set low. Neck set well with good front assembly. Level topline. Moved well with good ground clearance.

2nd Allchorne, Nelgus Thyme Bomb JW 3yr old Male of masculine proportions throughout. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, strong short bone, level topline and tail correctly set and carried well. Up to size. Good ground clearance and moved ok.

DACHSHUND (LONG-HAIRED)

Puppy 1,0

1st Wedge, Danton Fire Dancer at Dolans 10mths Red bitch of lovely size. Excellent head properties with the darkest of pigment and offering a feminine expression. Elegant long neck set into well laid shoulders, prominent fore chest, tight elbows. Good depth of chest with ribbing extending well back, short loin. Well angulated and moved well in front, needs to firm up in hind movement. BPIB

1st Wedge, Faulksfollie Miss Minaver at Dolans 2 yr old Shaded Red bitch, loved her overall type, size and balance. Excelled in head properties. Another with an elegant long neck set well into well laid shoulders, prominent fore chest, tight elbows. Good depth of chest with ribbing extending well back, short loin. Back level with slight rise over loin. Tail well set. Her movement was so true and fluid. I was disappointed in the challenge as she just wouldn’t settle with her handler on the move or whilst stacked and so had to be content with RBOB.

1st Wedge, Peverleigh Autumnal Louis at Dolans 2yr old Red male, masculine throughout. Strong in head, dark almond eye, correct bite. Neck set into well angulated shoulders, prominent fore chest, tight elbows. Good depth of chest, well ribbed, short loin. Moved well fore and aft and powered round the ring with good drive. Well coated with abundant feathering. BOB

DACHSHUND (MINIATURE LONG HAIRED)

Puppy 4,1

1st McCarthy, Nagshall Santa Cruz, Shaded Cream male of 7 mths. Pleasing head properties, dark pigment, good mouth. Adequate neck, well laid shoulders, tight elbows, good length of rib, short loin. Kept his topline and moved well. Up to size and well coated for age. BPIB

2nd Lovett, Midnight Jade 6 mth old Red bitch. Smaller all over than 1. Neat and tidy throughout with a pleasing head and expression. Tight elbows, good length of rib. Level topline. Moved ok.

3rd Hall & Osborne, Dinkidax All Fired Up

1st Broad, Dinkidax Dionysys Shaded Red male just over 12mths. Loved his head properties and expression, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, prominent forechest, elbows ok, well ribbed. Level topline which he kept on the move. Well balanced and moved well. RBOB

2nd McCarthy, Nagshall Holly Lightly Go Shaded Cream 15 mths, bitch. Loved her head properties and expression. Adequate neck into good front assembly. Top line not her fortune spoiling the overall shape and balance. Super coat and feathering, moved ok.

Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, a good front assembly with tight elbows. Well ribbed, short loin. Adequate hind angulation. In super coat and feathering. Moved well. BOB

2nd Hall & Osborne, Dinkidax Midnite Charmer, male 4 yrs. Very well balanced throughout. Good head properties. Neck set into well laid shoulders, good front assembly. Moved Well.

1st Valentine, Morailsa Secret Script Tiffwazz 4 yr old male, Black and Tan. A super boy of good type and balance. Loved his head properties, reach of neck and well laid shoulders into a good front assembly. Level topline. Rather skittish today so difficult to truly assess movement. RBOB

1st Reed, Deercroft Dream Chaser, Shaded red male of 10mths. Masculine in head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Good front assembly. Well ribbed, short loin, kept his topline at all times. Would prefer him to be more settled in hind movement. In super condition. BPIB

Junior 3,2

1st Pearmain & Sherwood, Delandmar Greta Garbo 14mth Black and tan bitch. Oozed breed type with the most pleasing head and expression. Elegant neck set well into shoulders and well angulated front assembly. Super length of rib with short loin, well angulated hindquarters. Moved so true fore and aft keeping her topline at all times. BOB

1st Reed, Deercroft Summer Serenade JW Shaded red 5 yr old bitch. Pleasing head properties with super expression and correct dentition. Lovely reach of neck set into well laid shoulders. Good angulation fore and aft. Well-proportioned and balanced throughout. Moved with drive keeping topline. RBOB

Puppy 3,1

1st Rowe, Boloria’s Miss Dior 9 mth old Chocolate & Tan bitch. Pleasing head properties with super expression. Balanced throughout. Elegant reach of neck into well laid shoulders and good front assembly. Well ribbed with short loin. Strong hindquarters, moved with drive. Kept her topline at all times. Coat not at is best today and would prefer more depth of colour. Of good size and type. BPIB

2nd Bye, Tendrow More Magic for Byabye, 6 ½ mths Brindle bitch. Oh, what a character, thoroughly enjoying her day. Super head and expression. Well laid shoulders and good front assembly. Adequate length of rib, short loin. Nicely angulated fore and aft. Difficult to assess movement as bounced and jiggled around the ring. Good harsh jacket. Lovely size and type.

1st Langridge, Calicoe Thank God It’s Friday, Red male, 17mths. Such a handsome chap with the most pleasing head properties. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Prominent prosternum, good depth of chest and length of rib, short loin. Strong hindquarters, good turn of stifle. Super harsh jacket. Moved with drive. Up to size but still well balanced. RBOB

2nd Foglia, Kentixen Abies Grandis, Brindle male, 3yrs. Good head properties and pleasing expression. Well laid shoulders and good front assembly. Well ribbed. Level Topline. Moved ok but feeling the heat today so lacked any real animation. Super jacket.

3rd Parsons, Cloudside Picture Perfect at Shukriya

1st Rowe, Boloria’s Trick or Treat JW, Brindle bitch nearing 3yrs age. The most pleasing size and type. Not over done in any way. Excelled in head and expression. Elegant reach of neck into well laid shoulders and neat front assembly. Well ribbed, short loin. Good depth of chest. Strong hindquarters, well angulated. Moved with drive and purpose keeping topline. Excellent harsh jacket. BOB
