Hungarian Puli Club Of Great Britain
My thanks go to the members, Officers and Committee of the HPCGB for this appointment, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. My thanks go as well to all that entered their dogs for me today and to my two stewards who kept things running smoothly.
I had some tough decisions to make in some classes, a lot were based on movement, the venue I think doesn’t suit some dogs and it would be interesting to judge some of them again in a larger ring. Coat presentation in the main was good however there were quite a few with dirty teeth, also a few overweight and underweight. Quality was mixed throughout but I was very pleased with my main winners and there were some promising youngsters.
Class 1 minor puppy dog – no entries
Class 2 puppy dog (1,0)
1st Garratt’s Kistelek Cee Three Pee Oh – 9 months old, looking quite raw still at the minute. Masculine in appearance and build, decent shape. A little strong in head for me, good pigment and bite. Good in front construction but would prefer more bend of stifle, this showed in his movement, he is short stepping but doesn’t have much drive. Coat in good order.
Class 3 junior dog (1,0)
1st Boss’ Enter Black Obsession – very much liked this 13 month old. He is of super type, correct outline with neck blending into body, moderate and balanced angulation front and rear which gave sound, typical movement when he was settled. Lovely head, excellent pigment. Would like to see him have a little more weight on him. This was his and his owners first show today, I hope they continue to show him as he is very promising.
Class 4 yearling dog (1,0)
As per junior dog
Class 5 graduate dog (2,0)
1st Gilbert’s Silkata Howay Hugo – 2 ½ years old grey presenting a nice square outline, he appealed for size as well. Very good head proportions, excellent pigment. He is well angulated front and rear, giving sound movement all angles, he particularly appealed for his rear construction and showed good drive. Maturing well in body. Coat coming on nicely, handled well. He is maturing into a lovely dog. RBD
2nd Owen’s Magikus Draco Malfoy – 2 ½ years old white, not as square in outline as 1. Head is of good proportions but on the bigger side. Balanced construction, showed good profile movement but narrow coming towards me, sound going away. Preferred overall type of 1.
Class 6 post graduate dog (1,0)
1st Scrutton’s Black’n Blue’s Ready To Rock With Gemeau (Imp DNK) – 2 ½ years old, love his head, excellent proportions and pigment. He is nicely angulated front and rear, shows good drive from rear giving typical movement, I would just prefer a more lively action. He is at a stage where his coat makes him appear longer than he is. I think he will balance out again with a bit more maturity.
Class 7 limit dog (3,0)
This was a tough class with 3 different types.
1st Gilchrist’s Black’n Blue’s Name Of The Game At Silkata (Imp DK) – almost 6 years old grey, good outline. He won this class on type and maturity. Excellent head and pigment. Appealed for his front construction. Good depth to chest, short in loin. His son today just switched it on a bit more with movement to get RBD over him.
2nd Sharpe’s Catsun Comanche Legacy – 2 years old, longer cast than 1. He has OK head proportions, he lacks though the masculinity of 1. Balanced front and rear angles, demonstrated sound, lively movement all ways. Would prefer a little more length of leg. Excellent coat presentation and well handled.
3rd Sear & Quill’s Searwell String Theory – 5 years old white. He is fairly good to go over, moderate angles, good square profile with neck blending into body, didn’t have the head proportions of those placed higher. He is a sound mover just today was lazy, I prefer a more lively action, I think he would benefit from losing some weight.
Class 8 open dog (2,0)
1st Cowley’s Callendu Despicable Me At Kashbeluli ShCM – quality 5 year old male. Super outline, masculine and of ideal size. Correct head proportions, bite and good pigment. Strong in neck which blends well into the body. Balanced angulation front and rear, on the move he is so sound, shows a clean driving action with a solid top line. Excellent body condition. Pleased to award him BD & BIS
2nd Boss’ Enter Black Obsession see junior dog, just not yet ready maturity wise to compete in open.

Class 15 puppy bitch (2,1)
1st Whitton’s Bubbleton Don’t Burst My Bubble With Vaucluse (Imp DNK) – 10 ½ month old, lovely type, nice compact outline. Very pretty head of good proportions. Huge coat which makes her look much bigger than she is, once you get your hands on her she is of nice substance for her age. Has a cheeky attitude which I loved, when settled she is showing typical movement. A promising puppy. BPIS
Class 16 junior bitch no entries
Class 17 yearling bitch (1,1)
Class 18 graduate bitch (2,1)
1st McBeth’s Cariadus All For Love At Maclaurien- 2 years old grey, she is of a lovely type and is nice to go over, it’s such a shame she doesn’t have more confidence. Excellent head proportions, square outline, nice construction, very feminine in build and appearance. Just doesn’t keep her tail up which does spoil her movement, but still appears sound.
Class 19 post graduate bitch (2,0)
1st Gilchrist’s Silkata Sosumi – very compact 2 year old. Feminine, balanced head of good proportions. Lovely construction giving very typical lively, short stepping movement. Tests her handler at times but I loved her attitude. Sound all angles. Would just prefer more of her all round.
2nd Sear’s Porgeloci Titok- 3 years old of good size. Feminine, lovely head of good proportions, excellent pigment. Body maturing well, good to go over, just doesn’t quite have the balance on the move as 1.
Class 20 limit bitch (2,0)
1st Sear and Quill’s Searwell Supersymmetry – 5 year old white giving a good, square outline with neck blending well. Lovely to go over, good size, I found her to be very balanced in angulation and good in chest. Feminine head, good proportions. Typical short stepping movement, sound all angles.
2nd Cowley’s Somogyi Betyar Bodza At Kashbeluli – 3 years old, much smaller type than 1. Very pretty, lovely outline. Head proportions are good just found her a little narrow in muzzle. Needs to mature a bit more in body. She wasn’t really showing herself off well today but when settled displayed short stepping movement, sound all angles. Another I would prefer more of all round.
Class 21 open bitch (2,0)
1st Gilchrist’s Silkata Theme For A Dream – 7 year old white of nice type. Square outline, feminine, in great body condition and thought she scored highly for chest and rib. Very good head proportions and of a nice size. Balanced in construction, this shows in her movement, very sound showing good drive, moves with ease. A very nice Puli. RBB
2nd Sear and Quill’s Searwell Spiral Nebulae – 5 year old white. Good, square outline. Nice head, feminine and good proportions. Balanced, moderate angulation. A little longer in loin than 1. I do think she needs to lose some weight and that this did affect her movement.
Class 22 special veteran bitch 7-9 years no entries
Class 23 special veteran bitch 10 years & over (2,1)
1st Gilchrist’s Ch/Ir Ch Cariadus Galadriel At Silkata ShCM – 12 year old of excellent type. Body condition starting to give away her age a little but she is so nice to go over. Lovely head, excellent angulation and on the move she is super, showing lovely, sound typical movement. Thank you for entering her, one I have liked a lot from the ringside over the years. BB, RBIS, BVIS
