ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIELS – A lot were lacking in coat today. J (4,1a) 1 & RBOB, Weyman’s Spuffing Tanqueray, impressive bitch, good for size, feminine head, good length of skull, good eye & expression, correct earset, good reach of neck, well bent stifles, good in hindquarters, moved the best in class; 2 Dunsdon’s Meadowdale Luther Vandross at Seaspring, masculine, larger in mould, strong in head, good reach of neck, good front assembly, moved OK with topline held; 3 Cox’s Pentranella Fleur De Lily avec Tiroen. PG (3) 1 S Tanquerary; 2 M Luther Vandross at S; 3 Hawkes’ Meonstoke Elderflower. O (3,1) 1 BOB & G2, Woodbridge’s Crackerjanne Penelope Cruz, lovely bitch who creates a nice picture standing, melting expression, correct earset, good front and lay of shoulder, well boned, well sprung ribs, well developed thigh, moved with drive and precision; 2 Weyman’s Spuffling Molly’s Secret, pretty bitch, feminine, good length of head, correct ear shape and earset, nice front, good length of body, well developed quarters, outmoved by 1; 3 Dunsdon’s Seaspring Becalmed. WELSH SPRINGER SPANIEL – J (1) 1 & BP, Wright’s Taihang Hawthorn, 9 months and a little raw, correct domed skull, good eye, nice length of neck, long cast, well angulated, moved out well once settled. PG (4) 1 & RBOB, Woodhams’ Glynell Jiffy, masculine head, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, nicely boned, well bent stifles, stylish mover, held level topline stacked and on the move; 2 Wright’s Amblelight Solar Flare, very typical in head, good eye, good earset, nice front assembly, compact dog, moved well but had a tendency to fly his tail; 3 Charles’ Stagarth A Kind Of Magic. O (3,2) 1 Woodhams’ Tobermyn Minstrel Boy, masculine head, dark eye, good length of neck, correctly ribbed, well angulated, rich coat colour, moved out well. Flew his tail at times but did enough to clinch BOB; 2 Tubb’s Slapestones Tidal Wave for Alsutu, longer cast than 1, well off for bone, good head and earset, plenty length of neck, good tailset, held well on move. FLATCOATED RETRIVERS – J (4,3) 1 & RBOB, Swan’s Swantonwood Gold Leaf, balanced bitch, feminine head and expression, good eye and earset, good for forechest, well angulated, moved well. O (5,4) 1 & BOB, Bowen’s Clandrift Midnight Galaxy, typical bitch, pleasing head & eye, good reach of neck, well off for bone and in hard condition, well angulated, moved with drive. NSC HOUND – P (6) 1 BP, BNSC, PG2, G3, Skerritt & Betts’ Monkhams Memphis Belle, PBGV, very impressive bitch, gorgeous head of correct length, dark eye, good set on of ears, strong and well set neck, compact body, strong hindquarters used to advantage on the move with tail carried correctly; 2 Parsons’ Jamarqui Alchemy Annie, Borzoi, feminine head, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, well off for brisket and ribcage, correct rise and fallaway, well angulated, moved out well; 3 Cheese’s Africandawns Heidi Clare at Suecaseus. J (4,1) 1 & RBNSC, Langridge’s Calicoe Thank God It’s Friday, W/h Dachshund, balanced dog, masculine head and expression, good keel, large feet, well ribbed, good coat, held a level topline on move; 2 Brundle’s Brundledean Encantadora, Podengo, needs to gain more confidence, well set ears, good in front, good harsh coat; 3 Moulding’s Nykarth Perfect Moment. PG (8,3) 1 Rimell’s Donskoi Vesna at Borodino, Borzoi, elegant bitch, long and lean head, good shoulder placement, well angulated, plenty of coat, strong and low hocks, effortless movement; 2 Skerritt & Betts’ Beaujons Vagabond of Monkhams, PBGV, good head & eye, compact and well ribbed, well angulated, good coat, moved with drive; 3 Parsons’ Cloudside Picture Perfect at Shukriya. O (4,1) 1 Skerritt & Betts’ Monkhams Luna Luvgood, PBGV, another nice bitch from this kennel, good head & expression, good front, compact, moved best in the class but her younger kennelmate outmoved her for BNSC; 2 Clarke’s Tekalhaus Million To One, L/h Dachshund, impressive bitch, typical head, good eye & earset, well off for neck, well laid shoulders, well ribbed, great coat, didn’t put all in on the move; 3 Langridge’s Tendrow Elbreta. HOUND GROUP – G1 Semarks & Nemoto’s Sayadena Northern Lights, Afghan, impressive dog who commands attention, lovely head & eye, long neck, level back, well bent stifles, covered the ground gracefully, beautiful presentation; G2 Julian’s Blondessa Be Happy, Whippet, feminine head, very shapely, compact, nice depth of chest, well balanced, moved well; G3 PBGV; G4 Larkin’s Rubicon Red Do The Right Thing Royaal Pear, Ridgeback, good size, presents a clean outline, well off for bone liked her head and neck. HOUND PUPPY GROUP – PG1 Protheroe’s Picollo Teckel Tick-Tack at Royalmaple, Min S/h Dachshund, impressive dog, lovely head, good length of neck, long body, hind angulation good, sailed around the ring; PG2 PBGV; PG3 Webber’s Zoraden Fifty Shades Darker, Whippet, striking bitch, presents a good picture stacked, feminine head, compact body, good tuck-up, moved well; PG4 Earnshaw’s Shadowfax Rakes Progress by Shukriya, Afghan, masculine head & expression, well off for body, moved out well.                 ADRIAN MARETT
