1st: Brooksmith’s Nightgold Blackavar. Super type, with lovely outline and very pleasing head with clean lengthy neck. Well made front assembly. Good depth to brisket. Steady and extremely sound on the move. Great outline. BOB.

2nd: Bird’s Medogold Burn Baby Burn at Vinepoint. Strong male with kind expression, and striking outline, Brisket to the elbows and good angulation.. On the move he had power and drive, but a little untidy in front today. RBOB

Retreiver (Flat Coated)

Puppy 1 entry

1st:Connor and Jacob’s Gemswin Bohemian Rhapsody. Lovely young dog with good reach of neck, handsome head, with moderate stop. strong bone, neat round feet, moderate turn of stifle. Such a happy lad with his tail wagging throughout. BP.

Post Graduate 3 entries, 1 absent

1st:Goodman’s Blacklake Isabella. Moderate bitch with pleasing head and feminine expression, ears well set. Well placed shoulders, good depth to brisket, moderately angulated hindquarters. RBOB.

2nd: Beeson’s Esined Pandora. Good head, front assembly, and well laid shoulders. Deep in chest, good bone, well angulated and held level topline on the move.

1st: Goodman’s Blacklake Cordelia. Feminine bitch, but with substance and depth. Nicely moulded head, with kind expression, Clean neck, good depth to brisket. Well muscled and moved out with style and drive. BOB and G2.

Spaniel (Cocker)

Junior 2 entries, 1 absent

1st: Clarke’s Harbethol Look Magic Melody. Loved this typy bitch, with square outline. Good head proportions and well chiselled under the eyes. Clean neck leading to well laid shoulders. Well made hindquarters and balanced angles. Excellent bone and feet. Moved with drive and correct tail action and carriage. BOB and G4.

Post Graduate 6 entries, 2 absent

1st: Pilkington and Ellis’ Molkara Faustus at Brimbeck. Well made dog, with pleasing head and soft expression. Nice outline, well made rear and good feet. Moved with purpose. Tailset correct but carried a little high at times. RBOB.

2nd: McGrath-Wells’ Midnight Masqurade at Glenbrows. Masculine head with kind expression, good bone and front assembly. Deep chest and correct angles. Not overly cooperative on the stack today, but did enough for second place. Moved soundly.

3rd: Pitts’ Wagaflag Magical Mayhem

1st: Pilkington and Ellis’ Molkara Vuvuzela ShCM. Very well made 9 year old, not showing her age. Correct square outline, Gentle expression on a balanced head, strong neck. Moved so true, full of enthusiasm.

AVNSC Gundog

Puppy 1 entry

1st: Smith and Reardon’s Winterwell Maida Stone – GSP. Young male, with appealing outline and well angled front with good forechest. Nice length of neck, into well laid shoulders. Great reach on the move, a real showman. Eyes to darken, which will soften his expression. BP and PG3.

Junior 2 entries

1st: Bryant and Hollis’ Silvamoon Storm Trooper for Phenset JW – English Setter. Handsome and masculine head with low set ears. Straight front leading to tight feet. Clean neck into well laid back shoulders, deep chested, with good front and rear angles, Moved with drive. Well handled.

2nd: Kolomeyko’s Goodies Dream – Hungarian Vizsla. Difficult to assess, as needs a bit more schooling. Well angled front, though a little straighter behind.

Post Graduate 2 entries

1st: Joyce’s Ranchstar Vyvyan - Hungarian Vizsla. Nice male with masculine head & expression. Moved with power and drive. Well made front and adequately angled rear. Would like a bit more body to complete the picture.

2nd: Kolomeyko’s Goodies Dream – Hungarian Vizsla. Moved better in this class.

1st: Evan’s Sh Ch Yorkham Rocking Rudolph – Sussex Spaniel. Such a lovely balanced and sound boy shown in super condition. Well boned, quality head and handsome expression. Strong neck flowing through to a well held topline. Moved well with his strong well muscled hindquarters. Delighted to award him Best AVNSC, G1 and later see him go all the way to BIS.

2nd: Thomas’ Sh Ch Bowdonia Anastasia JW ShCM. A lovely bitch with pleasing head and dark eye. Well angled both ends. Lovely outline with effortless movement. A little longer in the loin, but a beautiful girl and a close decision. Reserve BAVNSC.

3rd: Smith and Reardon’s Sh Ch Winterwell Fowl Play – GSP

AV Gundog Puppy

1st: Trinder’s Thornywait Showstopper – Golden Retriever. An easy winner, with handsome head with correct set ears, good length of neck and well laid shoulders. Well angled fore and aft, with a level topline and correct tail set. Moved well when settled and later went on to win PG1.

2nd: Middleton’s Ashtoraz Valentine Miracle – NSDTR. Smart bitch with good head and expression. Shown in excellent condition with well muscled neck and good shoulders. Well muscled and moved well with correct tailset. Pleased to also award PG2.

3rd: Mason’s Maviston Rambling Rose - Golden Retriever

AV Gundog Junior

1st: Kinchella’s Honeymill Elder Warrior - Golden Retriever. Handsome boy with a good head and expression. Strong front and well angulated rear. Plenty of bone. Fluent and true on the move.

AV Gundog Post Graduate

1st: Pitts’ Wagaflag Magical Mayhem – Cocker Spaniel. Showed better here than in her earlier class. Feminine head, moderate neck into well placed shoulders Nice shape, and moved well.

2nd: Tester’s Gingafing Careless Whisper – NSDTR. Pretty bitch, with feminine head, and high set ears. Well presented, with smart effortless movement.

3rd: Beazant’s Gaeston Top Totty at Teamtot – Lagotto

AV Gundog Veteran

1st: Pilkington and Ellis’ Molkara Crystal Knight at Brimbeck ShCM – Cocker Spaniel. Handsome boy of 10 years. Such a happy typical mover, carrying his tail well. So sound and well made throughout. Pleased to hear he won his last points for Veteran Warrant today.

2nd: Joyce’s Ranchstar Alice Tinker – Hungarian Vizsla. Pretty girl, who was a little uncomfortable on the stack, but moved fairly well. Well angled front. Nice oval feet with arched toes.

3rd: Kinchella’s Honeymill Rainbow Ribbons - Golden Retriever

1st: Harding and Start’s Eveninghill Moment to Shine – Golden Retriever. Headed a lovely class. Such a pretty mature bitch with nicehead, well made front and angled rear. Held her topline on the stack and the move, where she really shone to win this class.

2nd: Hunt’s Glynsam White Dream at Artsam – Samoyed. This cheeky veteran gave his handler a hard time but had such character. Appealed in head and full of type and balance, he moved with precision at the right pace with good footfall. Good depth of chest
