In addition to the Committee for their kind invitation to judge the group I am grateful to be breed judges who sent through a wealth of quality BOBS for my attention.

Heading the group was the Samoyed, Ch Nikara Diamond Dancer JW this dog just seems to get better and better with age, his condition and movement would be outstanding in a 4 year old dog let alone a 9 ½ year old dog! He is the consummate show man, loving the big ring, he stands beautifully four square, freestanding to show off his super construction. Love his expression – smiling constantly and his eyes never leaving his handler, showing the rapport they have. Presented in full gleaming coat with those classic silvery tips. Then with a huge ring to show off his paces, he just strides out covering the ground like he could move forever. Group 2 – a delightful Pyrenean sheep dog, Bel & Fin Ch Sandytrail Ensorcele, one I have admired from the ring side, and today was delighted to have the opportunity to judge her. She epitomises the breed for her alert stance and windswept appearance. Another who on free standing never had a foot out of place, athletic in build, with super angles, and lovely sloping croup. When sent off around the ring, just floated with the effortless action, covering ground so well with typical minimal lift of legs, could watch her move all day. G3 – the Australian shepherd, AKC ASCA Ch Wyndstar Magic Marker (Imp USA), in super hard condition, and fabulous presentation. Lovely clean lines, nothing exaggerated, and has lovely flowing lines from back of skull to croup. True and easy mover – and one I have admired before, but just felt he was looking little tired today. G4 – bearded collie, Ch Caldermist Kiss In The Dark JW Sh.CM, excellent outline, good length of back which is strong. Put down in fabulous coat. Oozes masculinity without being coarse, broad flat skull and has lovely alert & kind expression. Well put together and has super ground covering stride.

My shortlist included; the BSD, Tervueren -Ch Domburg Because I Can Lebeau, the Finnish Lapphund – Pavoskas Ceili JW, the Hungarian Puli - Ch Weetoneon Buggah The Beaujolais and the Polsih Lowland sheepdog – Ch Mybeards Hero.
