Darlington Dog Show Society September 13th 2019 Pharaoh Hound A high quality entry with some grand hounds on show. This is a breed I've owned and lived with and as young man I spent a lot of time with Pauline Block and the Twinley Pharaohs. I thought all the exhibits were quite typical both for make, shape and with typical friendly temperaments. Only one bitch was a little shy and she quickly settled to the job in hand. Does have some quality. Well balanced and masculine with an appealing head and expression. Good neck and shoulders, decent depth of brisket and moderate tuck up. Sound both up and down and in profile he is free moving. Best Veteran. Reserve CC. After judging I was told this dog won the reserve CC under me at SKC in 2015. He has much to commend him. His head is mature and masculine with large, well carried ears. Keen yet friendly expression. Good length of neck which is nicely arched and good shoulders. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib. Pleasing feet with strong pasterns. Moved soundly with an easy action. 2nd: 791 COLE Mrs A Doucai's Ir Re Buskatt. Three years younger than the winner and understandably less finished and mature. Attractive, typical head and expression, well balanced, good ribbing, moderate angulation. Tended to roach his topline a little on the move but he has a free, easy action. Class 327 OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 797 DAWSON, Mr G & Mrs C & DAWSON C Ch Kurriera Orlando At Lyncris. CC & BOB. Graceful yet strong and masculine. Good head planes, large well carried ears and most pleasing expression. Excellent forehand with good legs and strong pasterns. Good depth of brisket, good spring of rib and moderate tuck up. Strong muscular hind quarters. His carriage and deportment on the move was exemplary. I believe this was his 25th CC - congratulations. 2nd: 799 FLETCHER, Mr S & MERRYWEATHER Miss L Ch Reedly Road Rochlyn To Ynchreenoo (Imp). I admired his lovely head and expression, beautifully balanced and presents a very good outline. Well ribbed with adequate depth of brisket and slight tuck up. Like the winner he was shown in good muscle tone. A very good moving bitch who was obviously enjoying her outing. Feminine and well balanced, well laid shoulders. Good ribbing and moderately angulated hind quarters. Sound both up and down. In the challenge for Best Veteran her brother's cleaner throat and slightly better depth of brisket gave him the edge. A very typey medium sized bitch, moderate in all respects. Good forehand, adequate depth of brisket and moderate tuck up. Relaxed and free moving in profile with a good topline. 2nd: 792 COLE Mrs A Doucai Glorjuz Guza. Feminine with a pleasing attractive head and expression, good head planes and ears, good neck and shoulders. Pleasing for both type and balance just a little tense which caused her to roach her topline at times. Movement ok. Class 332 PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 793 COLE Mrs A Doucai's Invajoni Maltija. A soundly made youngster. Good skull, well set ears which could be a little firmer for perfection. Present a nice outline and she retained this on the move. Class 333 LB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 787 ASHBY, Ms Y & CAPPELAERE, Ms M & SAMWAYS Ms C Kurriera Krystal Amethyst. Most attractive head and expression, large well set ears. Good head planes. Nicely arched neck of good length, well laid shoulders. Excellent topline. Has a very easy, fluid action and shows to advantage. 2nd: 807 NICHOLS Mrs S & Mr M Litlar's Niju Zhizn V Udovolstvie (Imp Rus). Typey and beautifully balanced, pleasing head, feminine with a keen expression. Good depth of brisket and moderate cut up. Very impressive in outline with a proud, noble carriage. Lovely head and expression. Large mobile ears. Excellent neck and shoulders, good legs and feet. Decent depth of brisket, good spring of rib and first rate topline. Absolutely true on the move and in profile she has a light, flowing action. Excellent head and expression, good forehand with particularly good feet which are well knuckled and relatively compact. Good depth to brisket and beautifully balanced.
