My thanks to the committee of this lovely show for the chance to be able to award CCs for the first time to GSDs, it was indeed an honour. Thank you to my two excellent stewards and all the exhibitors, temperaments were first class and all of the dogs had the correct dentition, the ringside atmosphere was lovely, for me it really is a must to see this breed free standing from all directions, and to see them at all gaits, it is a pity that there is not more freedom to show the extended trot as this is when the best shepherds really excel.

Well grown masculine bl/g male. Slightly over stretched at present but will hopefully balance out as he matures, proportionate head with good skull developing and strong foreface, good pigment, strong well set neck, good front and bone, well placed wither, well ribbed, firm in topline and sound moving with good reach and drive

2nd: HANNINGTON Miss A Romainville Iceni 

Very promising bl/tan longcoat, well balanced and masculine, with good proportions and bone, touch narrow in front at present but has time, good head planes, ears just need to firm, good length of neck into high withers, not overdone in angles, sound to and fro holding topline.

1st: PUCKNELL, Mr M & PALMER Mr R Nellinka Christmas Hades

Pleases to see this boy is developing well, medium strength and size bl/g of correct proportions. Like his head, expression and ears, correct length and set of neck, well laid shoulder, can mature still in body and could carry a touch more weight to advantage, good overline, correct croup, balanced hind angulation, roomy side gait and power in the rear with good reach, should mature well.

2nd: WILENCZYC Miss K Nellinka Christmas Khaos At Kashiba

Top size bl/g, slightly longer cast than 1, good masculine head with pleasing expression, firm neck of good length, balanced angulation, could be firmer in overline, shows a good side gait and sound coming, can strengthen a little in rear.

1st: SMITH Mrs & Miss I & S Portnall Elrick Zu Sarocal Sh.CM

Upper medium size, slightly stretched and medium strength, masculine sable, balanced head with firm ears and good expression, calm, good neck and wither, well set front, well angulated, firm back with correct topline and long, well angled croup, good underline and correct depth to chest, well angulated hind quarters. Excellent side gait, good reach and drive through, stands soundly, his best is to come, considered for RCC.

2nd: WAITE Miss K Kintaro Malaga 

Strong upper medium size bl/g, balanced head with good ears, good neck and front, a little deep in chest but well ribbed, clean overline, good length of croup. Stands true, balanced angles in rear, moved soundly with good side gait and correct out and back.

1st: NICHOLSON, Miss S & KACZMARCYK Mr J Ch Larath Aramis JW

Admired this dog before and he has matured so well in the last 12 months, love his calm but alert attitude, medium size and strength, bl/g slightly stretched, well bone masculine dog, super head with width to skull, correct planes, dark eyes and firm ears, good length of neck set at the correct angle, well boned with correct chest and ribbing and good front. Holds a firm overline and clean underline, back strong and straight with well moulded croup, balanced hind angulation with firm hocks, not too long, he very smoothly covers a lot of ground, good reach and thrust through, power and purpose on the move, remaining steady and collected, true and sound in all directions, pleased to award him the CC.

2nd: MARSDEN, Miss C & ROBINSON Mr M Avanti Uno

A dog I really like and have placed well before, just a little deeper in chest and heavier in body today than 1, lovely masculine dark bl/g medium size, medium strength, skull of equal length and breadth with strong muzzle and good planes, strong well set neck into wither, well laid shoulders, firm back and loin, croup firm and correctly angled, long tail, firm in hocks and pasterns, sound coming and going, good reach and follow through from hind quarters keeping a smooth back line, covered plenty of ground, calm outlook and stands true RCC

3rd: 2579 JONES Miss A J Ch Lararth Vanos Of Morolwg Sh.CM I have always admired this very masculine, correct and well made dog, just a touch heavier in condition today which meant he couldn’t match the two above on the move but a very well deserved Ch and a delight to see him

Feminine bitch with a balanced head and dark eye, well angled neck, good front and chest, short back, good length of loin and croup into short back good length of loin, just enough hind angulation, sound on the move butt not really reaching and driving today.

17month dark sable of good make and shape, medium size and strength with a clean overline, pretty head, correct eye and good ear set, correct back, loin and croup, balanced angulation, moved with a decent enough side gait and sound coming and going.

1st: HENSLEY, Mr & Mrs D & SWIFT Ms A Willow At Zuberg

Well grown sable of medium strength, needs bags of time to fill her frame, lovely head for size and balance with a good stop and planes and firm ears, super expression, good length of neck into correct withers, well laid shoulder, back of good length, well placed croup, well angulated rear, on the stack looks a little overdone but showed correct angles walking and free stand, took a little time to settle into her gait (the joys of youth!) but when she did showed a lengthy reach and good drive through which won her BP.

Loved this one and she must surely have a promising future. Medium size and strength feminine bl/gold well pigmented bitch of correct proportions , correct height to length, good head and foreface with correct planes and firm ears, nice eye and expression, good forehand, correct neck and angle to withers, firm overline, straight back and good length of loin, well moulded croup, rear well angulated with short strong hocks, excellent reach and drive through, well co-ordinated in all directions.

Upper medium size, medium strong feminine and well proportioned bitch, liked her type, nothing overdone, free stands very soundly and shows balanced angulation at the walk, balanced head with good eye and ear, good forehand and deck, firm overline with strong back, loin and correct croup, clean underline, strong hindquarters and hocks, moves sound away and coming with free side gait, covering ground.

2nd: PUCKNELL, Mr M & PALMER Mr R Nellinka Great Expectation

Medium size and strength, slightly stretched, dark bl/tan long coat, presents an excellent profile with good forehand and withers, firm back, I liked her lines, pretty head with well set ears and good expression, well angulated rear, sound coming, can tighten a little going away, side gait showed good extension and drive

This was a competitive class to judge, the first 3 were all close up.

So pleased to see how well this super bitch is developing since I last saw her and gave her BP, she really comes in to her own on the move. Beautiful head with gorgeous expression and so calm and collected, medium size and strength bl/g of correct proportions with an excellent firm overline and clean underline, stands true, good length of neck into correct wither, straight back and loin with good length and angle of croup, well laid shoulders and well angulated rear, hocks short and strong with firm pasterns, ground covering reach and drive, really fluid on the move, sound to and fro, a top class female RCC

2nd: BANKS Ms S C Rushmere Evita

Ran 1 hard, glamorous bl/tan long coat in super coat and undercoat, medium size and strength well proportioned and very feminine, gorgeous head with correct planes and firm ears, pretty eye, good neck and correct wither, excellent forehand, firm back, loin and croup correctly angled, on the stack tends to drop off too much but free standing and moving she’s back in shape with a totally correct overline, shows a fluent ground covering side gait, straight and true away, just a touch narrow coming toward and standing a shade narrow in front today.

A totally unexaggerated female who just looked as if she could work with purpose all day. Totally calm and collected but alert at all times, she has a great attitude! Medium size and strength bl/g, feminine all through, slightly stretched with good bone and chest, excellent head with good balance and planes, well set ears which she uses, lengthy neck correctly angled, good wither, excellent forehand with good depth of chest, well ribbed with super overline, firm back, strong loin and correct croup of good length, clean underline with well angulated strong rear, short and strong hocks, stands true, walks true, sound away and back with a fluent and well co-ordinated side gait, showing good forward reach and powerful drive without excessive lift, I could watch her all day, BCC and BOB.

2nd: JONES Miss A M Kintaro Hot Off The Press Sh.CM

Medium strength five year old black and tan bitch without exaggeration, well balanced, feminine head and lovely expression, good reach of neck, enough bone, excellent proportions, good topline flowing into a well moulded croup, moved with a steady side gait and sound coming and going
