It was a huge honour and privilege to be allowed to go over so many beautiful bitches. I thank exhibitors for accepting my decisions so well, a lot were very difficult to make, and I was really splitting hairs in some classes. Temperaments and condition were excellent throughout, and a credit to the owners, with such large classes and only five places it was inevitable that some very nice bitches went unplaced, but placed or not you should be proud of your girls, and I thank you for entering them under me.

Thanks also to my two very efficient stewards, who kept everything moving for me, your efforts were very much appreciated.

I was looking for bitches that in my opinion had both the conformation and stamina necessary to enable them to work all day covering considerable distances over varied terrain, and showed that typical border collie enthusiasm and attitude of ‘Come on, what are we waiting for?’ I wanted that classical low head carriage and economical ground covering movement so necessary in a true border collie that would allow it to keep going without tiring, with everything in moderation and no exaggerations.

An excellent class, and great to see so many bitches with their ages is double figures moving soundly and with an enthusiasm that belied their age.

1st MISS J WETTERN - SH CH GRANDVER IN STYLE JW. 10 yrs 5 mths, Pretty Tri bitch, tipped ears, excellent head shape and proportions, alert and attentive to her owner, correct bone, pasterns and feet, Sound movement holding her topline, sloping croup and lovely long tail, well put together and in excellent condition, well-muscled and looking very good for her years.

2nd MRS C & MISS D WILTSHIRE - SH CH CALEYKIZ RHYTHM IN BLACK JW. 11yrs 2 mths, b/w A bitch I have always admired, tipped ears, well balanced head proportions, with an intelligent alert expression, excellent reach of neck, Good rib and body. Well set and carried tail of good length, Sound and free moving with reach and drive.

3rd MRS J GRANT - LOCHEIL ALL THATS MAGICAL AVEC COUSSIERE, 12yrs 1 mth, b/w Pleasing head with a mild expression, tipped ears, Well placed shoulders and good ribcage, sufficient length in body, well set on tail. Good rear angulation moved soundly in all directions, certainly does not look her age.

under jaw, kind expression, with correct eye colour, good reach of neck, correct angulation front and rear with well

let down hocks, well ribbed with deep chest, moved soundly in all directions, very attentive to her handler and

presented in excellent condition.

head with neat tipped ears and correct eye shape, nice length of neck, well angulated front and rear with a nicely

balanced flowing outline throughout, excellent croup and length of tail, moved soundly.

ring, so much attitude and raring to go, very pretty feminine head, neat ears and correct eye shape, good reach of

neck onto well angulated shoulders, level topline which she held on the move, well sprung ribs with a deep chest,

correct bone, pasterns and feet, nicely angulated rear with a sloping croup, close fitting jacket presenting an overall

clean and flowing outline, very sound on the move in all directions, this girl deserves her title and I am sure it will not

be long in coming, pushed very hard for the CC and more than happy to award her the RCC.

excellent head proportions, with an alert expression correct eye shape and neat tipped ears, good reach of neck,

deep chest and well sprung ribs, correct bone pasterns and feet, sloping croup with good length of tail, presenting a

lovely flowing outline, moved soundly and seriously considered for top honours, just slightly preferred the side gait

of the winners in the final challenge but one to watch in the future.

2nd MS J RATCLIFFE - ARRODARE FUEL TO THE FLAME JW, 3 yrs 7 mth b/w Well balanced feminine head and

expression, good length of neck, well laid back shoulders and deep broad chest, well ribbed with strong loin, good

rear angulation with hocks well let down, good bone pasterns and feet, sound flowing purposeful movement.

Very difficult class to judge, only being able to place five from twenty eight meant so many quality bitches had to go

unrewarded.

1st MR R K GREEN - SH CH FAYKEN I AM LOVE JW 2 yrs 11 mths b/w. Super balanced head with medium sized

semi-erect ears, eyes good shape and size. Constantly alert and aware of what was going on around her, Good length

of neck, shoulders well laid back and elbows close to body, well sprung ribs with a deep broad chest, good bone with

a slight slope to pasterns and oval well padded feet, nicely angled rear with hocks well let down, sloping croup

finished with a good long tail. Moved soundly in all directions with reach and drive showing a smooth tireless gait

with minimal lift holding her firm topline she moves like a girl on a mission, correct close fitting double coat

enhanced the picture, was very happy to award her the CC.
