My thanks to the City of Birmingham committee for their hospitality and for having invited me to judge on this special 75th anniversary show. Many thanks to my ring stewards. Many thanks to the exhibitors, for having entered their dogs which I really have very much appreciated. I am very sorry not having been able to spend more time and being more extended in my critiques seen the late start of my judging and trying to get everyone in time for the group judging. 

I was very much looking forward to judge this breed in the UK. I found that generally dogs as well as bitches were of good size and type. However I felt several could have been more compact and shorter in body, often needing a little higher in withers and stronger back giving that breed specific topline. Some also need better proportions and higher on the legs.  

Veteran dog (2 Entries) Abs: 0  

1st: 5804 LAROCHE Mrs E J Emmroche Bartolomeo  

This is a very nice dog, type what I was looking for. Liked him very much and good example of the breed. Good proportions and nice size. Masculine head with nice proportions, eye and expression. Excellent short body and correct angulations. Standing on good legs. Good withers slightly above topline. Topline could be a little firmer. Was excellent on the move. Nice coat and structure. He became Best veteran, Best dog and Best of Breed. 

2nd: 5811 NELSON Miss J Gaesten Zippy Zingo At Nelbekio Sh.CM  

Good sized dog. Found him in a little too long, could be more compact. Nice head and expression. Needs more length of legs and a little higher in withers. He moved well. 

Puppy dog (1 Entries) Abs: 0  

1st: 5803 JOHNSON Mrs T Gaesten Danny's Dukedom  

Good compact type on good length of legs. Nice head and expression. Good topline, body and angulations. He has for a puppy already a nice coat. Moves well with good temperament but a little narrow behind. Tail carriage is rather high. He became Best puppy. 

Junior dog (3 Entries) Abs: 1  

1st: 5812 NELSON Miss J Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Richard At Nelbekio (Imp)  

A little long, prefer to be more compact, shorter in back. Nice masculine head and expression. Standing on good length of legs. Nice in body and angulations. Topline with correct withers but could be stronger and straighter. Nice coat. Moving well with good drive and temperament and with good tail carriage. This was my Res Best dog.

Open dog (4 Entries) Abs: 1  

1st: 5806 MCALLISTER Ms P Mizani Diorbe Of Slovakia Sh.CM  

Compact and short dog with good proportions. Standing on good length of legs. Nice head and eye with rims matching coat color. Excellent body and angulations. Topline could be a little more sloping with higher withers. Prefer better curls, but this coat color often shows less crispy curls. Moves well but a little close behind. 

2nd: 5813 NELSON, Miss J & FERGUSON, Mrs L & BARKER Mrs M Mizani Dioro Over Savio  

Prefer a more compact and shorter dog. But on good legs. Good masculine head. Good body and angulations. Nice coat structure. Good temperament on the move but needed more power and drive from hindquarters.

1st: 5808 MORT Mrs L Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Strawberry Syrup At Arcti  

Feminine overall but would prefer to see more compact. Topline not straight and at this moment standing a little overbuilt. Nice feminine head. Sufficient in forechest and good ribs for age. Has to improve in angulations. Sufficient curled coat for this age. She moves well but rather loose in front. 

Junior bitch (6 Entries) Abs: 2  

1st: 5805 LIGHT Mr M Moonreed Bella  

She is a good type but prefer to see a little more compact in body and slightly higher at withers. Nice feminine head. Needs more length of legs. Excellent body, bone and angulations. Excellent temperament on the move. She was my Best bitch. 

2nd: 5810 MULHEARN, Mr S & HOBGEN Mr A Mizani Moon Spice  

She is a good type but needs a little more length in legs. Topline could be firmer and straighter and withers a little higher. Feminine head. Under jaw should be more in balance with upper jaw and muzzle. Good coat and curls. Moved well..  

3rd: 5815 WHITTICK Mr & Mrs S A & B L Moonreed Warbler  

Post graduate bitch (5 Entries) Abs: 2  

1st: 5809 MORT Mrs L Radiva Baby Oh Cherrie (Imp)  

A strong built well made bitch. She is a good type but could be more compact and shorter in body. Standing on good legs but withers could be a little higher. Excellent body and hind angulations but needs better front angulations. She has a nice coat. Moved rather narrow behind. She became my Res Best bitch. 

2nd: 5815 WHITTICK Mr & Mrs S A & B L Moonreed Warbler  

She is rather short on the legs and could be more compact and shorter in body. Topline not straight. Nice feminine head and expression. Excellent angulations and correct bone. Prefer to see better curls, coat a little corded. Moved rather narrow behind. 

3rd: 5794 COLLIS Mr D R & Mrs L C Iteru Riccia Piattone  

Open bitch (4 Entries) Abs: 1  

1st: 5801 FERGUSON Mrs L & Mr A Mizani Jola Briar  

She is nice size but could be more compact. Also needing higher on the legs and better topline. Feminine head and expression. She has good coat and curls. Moves a little wide in front. 

2nd: 5807 MCALLISTER Ms P Hopkiln Great Beatrice  

Feminine bitch but as first in this class needs to be more compact and higher on the legs. Topline is level and needing withers a little higher to give the correct breed topline. She has a good body and angulations. Nice curled coat. Moves with good temperament but narrow behind and tail too high. 

3rd: 5792 BRANSBY, Miss M & BRANSBY Mr B & Mrs K Nelbekio Be It Bambalina
