I would like to thank the LKA for inviting me to judge the Hound Group at their first representative show & their friendly hospitality. I thought the organisation was fantastic & the Best In Show ring was a super size to properly assess movement.
My short list included: GBGV Buchanan & MacLaren’s Ch & Ir Ch NL Ch Tarmachan Cartier, well made boy with balanced proportions & moved out with a free & easy stride. Beagle Craig’s Davicard Jacob, a shapely young dog with a soft melting expression. Irish Wolfhound Amoo’s Sade Paris, such a sound moving well made hound. Otterhound Salt, Stringer & Lerego’s Ch Tecklegarth Dreadnought, super example of the breed.
My group winner was the Wire Haired Dachshund McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Trademark, lovely head & neck flowing into super forehand, well muscled rear & really motored around the ring, but what I really loved about her was her typical gassy temperament. Reserve, Griffin Fauve de Bretagne McDonald-Ulliott’s Int Ch Hibeck Dino, lovely head & expression, well made front, correct body & powerful rear, which he used so well on the move. 3rd Basset Hound, Williams’ Ch Bromp Brian Smart, really liked this sound well made dog, balanced front & rear, correct head, long deep body & he was true on the move with a smooth gait. 4th Miniature Wire Haired Dachshund Thorn Andrews’ Ch Drakesleat Too Gud To Be True, very typical ultra sound girl, lovely head & expression, super front & rear, moved out with a happy disposition.
