Thank you for a lovely entry. This is the first time that I have judged a decent number of them and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Clearly with the number of imports there is bit of variety but I felt that overall the entry was competitive and there is a type developing that is very appealing and answers the standard quite well. The atmosphere in the ring was very pleasant and I had two very efficient and charming stewards.

Puppy dog-1 entry

1st Lane and Lane-Ridyard’s Kulawand Mister Chutney. A stylish one to start the day. Super outline and tail. Is maybe just a fraction long and a touch long in foreface but super coat, great temperament, sound in all directions and in good condition. Mature for his age. Best puppy.

Junior dog (5 entries, 3 absent)

1st Rosell’s Frangipaw The Limelight-caught my eye on the way into the ring. Good jacket, lovely outline, ok in head. Moved a bit wide in front and narrow behind.

2nd Thornley’s Locheil Stop Right There-not quite the style of the winner and tail a bit gay but he was sound, a really good mover and in hard condition.

Post graduate dog (3 entries, 2 absent)

1st Chugg’s Chatmoss Chatterbox at Tufterslodge-nice headed boy, a bit long in body and would like a little more bone, handled by a youngster to get the absolute best out of him. Well done.

Open dog (6 entries, 1 absent)

1st Barker and Averis’s Saredon Jack The Lad-catches the eye and won well under me when a baby. Super size, lovely tail, good head, great attitude, good rear, topline dipping slightly when standing. However is a lovely type. Best male.

2nd Smith’s Locheil Talk of the Town-the more I looked at this one the more I liked him. Is workmanlike and in great condition and examined well on the table. Is a touch proud of his tail. I loved his attitude and he finished Res dog.

Puppy bitch (6 entries, 3 absent)

1st Urbanczyk’s Marshmallow-I liked her type and size, good head, looked super when standing and held a really good outline both standing and moving. Was a bit close behind and hopefully she will strengthen there with maturity.

2nd Crockett’s Granlasco Hera (Imp It)-delightful youngster, not quite the eyecatching outline of the winner but she has plenty of time to develop. There was much to like about her and should mature on quite well.

Junior bitch (6 entries, 2 absent)

1st Averis & Barker’s Monamour Simplify at Appacionate (imp Jap)-gorgeous youngster and she had my attention as soon as she came into the ring. Feminine but workmanlike, good head, super outline, correct proportions and she never stopped showing. Probably the best front of the day. Looked really good in profile movement. Could strengthen further in rear but hopefully that will come with maturity. BB and that overall star quality and lovely outline earned her the nod for BOB.

2nd Jones’s Perfect Love di Sutri at Laserna (Imp It)-decent sort, good to go over and good temperament. Not quite the flashy outline of the winner but she was a quality girl and is another that should help keep the breed on the right track with her many virtues.

Post grad. B (8 entries, 4 absent)

1st Tate, Russell & Meyer -Marks Kasza Volgyi-Furge Betty Boop-lovely type and outline with a super tail set and carriage, showed really well, decent head and she had good expression, lovely drive in the rear. Pushed hard for top awards as she is quality.

2nd O’Connor’s Helenda Havoc-put up a good contest here. Good to handle and an appealing sort. Not quite as good on the move as the winner.

Open b (5 entries, 2 absent)

1st Roberts & Murray’s Ducklings JR Just Quitie (Imp Swe)-super type, very much what I think the breed should look like, correct proportions, good temperament and I loved her head and expression. Was a little short of coat today otherwise she would have pushed the youngster even harder. Res BB.

2nd Irving’s Hunter Hawk Hope for Twinan -close up here as she possesses many good points, super outline, great temperament and looked good going round. Not quite the head of the winner but she is a quality girl.

Veteran b (2 entries, 1 absent)

1st Kay’s Jackopeaks Princess Peach VW -in good condition and body for 10 years and still quite sprightly. Would like a little more bone and substance. Best veteran.
