THREE COUNTIES CH SHOW

Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas

I stepped in here for Chris Bexon & I send him all my good wishes for a speedy recovery. I know he would have enjoyed his day with this lovely breed. An interesting entry & I was impressed with the progress, they are now so much more even than they were back at Crufts 2004 when I first judged them. I was surprised to learn that then I put up a brother & sister from the Kisdon kennel & that today my BOB was a grand-daughter of the winner then.

MPD (1) 1 West’s Junetta Dorjan, young dog of a good size with enough bone, still needs to drop in chest but he has good body proportions, coat coming through nicely. Lovely head & expression, good neck & shoulders, moved well for age on well made legs & feet, alone but shows promise for type & quality. PD (2,2a). JD (3) 1 Newman’s Morganna Zatar, excellent head & expression, lovely neck & shoulders with a good forequarters, this quality dog had good body proportions, good ribcage, topline & tailset, moved so well on good tight feet & a lovely head carriage, using his correct hindquarters to advantage to cover the ground smoothly; 2 Guest’s Bardantop Banoffee, loved his type but today very unsettled on the move, masculine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set tail, still needs to finish but set up he is balanced & very typical; 3 Deighton’s Fourlums Tavaszi. PGD (7,1) 1 Spillane’s Belatarr Jupiter, a very impressive dog who I could picture working, he has the correct coat & excellent balance, masculine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, good forequarters, ribcage & strong topline held set up & moving, really using his well muscled hindquarters to effortlessly cover the ground; 2 Thomas’ Hosokter Tompa at Odinsmoke, not an overlarge dog but within the Standard, he is quality & balanced, good head & eye, lovely neck & shoulders, enough coat which is of the correct texture, moved well here to win his place in this interesting class; 3 Stephenson’s Leiborschy Leif of Fryerfold. LD (4,2) 1 Howard’s Lanokk Szivos not moving so freely here but he is well made, masculine in outlook with a good head & expression, good neck & topline. Carried his tail a bit high & not the freedom of front movement but a good depth of chest with a strong loin, of a good size with a correct coat texture; 2 Moss’s Ewtor Nobody Does It Better, not in his best coat or condition today but I understand there are bitches in season at home, so he has my sympathy! Moved OK if a little close behind. His mind definitely wasn’t on the job in hand today, so he wasn’t helping his handler at all but he has a masculine head & expression, correct neck & shoulders & a strong topline, would like to see him when he is his normal self. OD (5) 1 Upton’s Sh Ch Tragus Fox Appeal, balanced, quality dog with a lovely masculine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, well coated which was of the correct texture, moved well & with precision holding a strong topline & well set & carried tail, he won minor puppy dog last time I judged & I am thrilled with his progress, very typical & reminds me of his sire. Showed his socks off to take the RCC; 2 Spillane’s Sh Ch Belatarr Hercules, so very close up, again an excellent type who I have liked before, in excellent coat & condition, moved well using his strong hindquarters & correct forequarters to cover the ground with ease, masculine head & expression, well boned legs & feet, he is balanced & quality; 3 Newman’s Ch Zoldmali Szeles Morganna. Three excellent examples of the breed. I see now that last time he took the RCC & today went one better & stole the CC; 2 Spillane’s Belatarr Charlie Parker, another old favourite, again carrying his 7 years very lightly, in excellent coat & condition, moved so well on well boned legs & feet, strong hindquarters which were well muscled, masculine head & expression with a lovely neck & shoulders, showed well & shows good body proportions.

MPB (0) PB (3) 1 Upton’s Tragus Fox Angel, mature young lady with a pretty head & expression, moved OK when she settled, she is of a good size & balance, with enough hindquarters, daughter of the RDCC & of a similar type, showed better in the challenge to take BP & went on to take puppy group 4, congratulations; 2 Gray’s Oakberrow Let The Fun Be Gin, I liked her type, she is very feminine in outlook, head still needs to finish & she needs to body up, but she has the makings of a nice, typical bitch, for she has a good hindquarters, a nice topline & well set tail; 3 Pryer’s Fradaikee Love On The Rocks.
