Breed: Hound Puppy Group

What a fabulous line up of Hound puppies. Such a strong group with many very typical breed representatives not even making the short-list. I really was splitting hairs to get to my final four.

1st RISHWORTH, Mrs C J & RISHWORTH Miss H H Out Of The Blue Ad Honores (Imp) Fra - GREYHOUND – Bitch.  Nothing to hide here and this beautiful sight hound put in absolutely ‘foot perfect’ performance which was definitely required to win in this company. In fit, well-toned muscular condition; you just know she could gallop at speed which I am sure would be a joy to watch. Her side gait is so impressive with accurate foot fall. She looks so balanced both stood and on the move. She has a calm, gentle air about her.

2nd ROBERTS Mr D Swansford Gabrieldor - DACHSHUND (LONG-HAIRED) – Dog. By contrast, the perfect digging machine. Such a typical head carried with an air of importance on his long slightly arched neck. Ideal strength to his jaw and huge, neat teeth. He has wonderfully angulated forequarters, strength of bone and real strength to his hind quarters. So well matured in body for his age and in first class condition. His soft straight coat had was a shiny picture of health. On the move he is so collected even at speed holding his top line and with such proud head carriage.

3rd JONES & JEPSON Messrs T & S Eardley Anna Sasin - BEAGLE – Bitch. Such a pretty bitch with that typical gentle expression. Of an ideal size and shape; sturdy and compact yet still feminine. Neck of correct length to do the job in hand. Kept catching my eye playing with her handler during the short interlude and clearly has a wonderful playful yet respectful personality. She has the best feet, really tight and firm with super short nails – ideal for a day’s work in the field. Chest already deep with a little more to come I’m sure. Back level and tail set high and held vertical at all times. Sound away and back and showed very good overall balance in side gait.

4th FARLEIGH Mrs M L Kinabula's Gucci Bloom - RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK – Bitch. Impressive looking bitch; a combination of power with elegance. A fabulous head with dark pigmentation and sparkling eye giving typical expression. Already has strength to her neck and such well laid shoulders with a clean straight front. Like the Beagle she also has noticeably impressive feet; compact with well arched toes and neat nails. Another in super condition with a gleaming deep red coat and characteristic ridge of ideal length. On the move she has along rhythmic free flowing gait driving well from her hocks and reaching well in front.
