South Wales Kennel Association 13th October 2019 Lowchen 

Many thanks to the Officers and Committee for giving me the honour to judge my breed at this well run and friendly show. 

Although the entry was on the low side, no absentees; I found the bitches to be stronger than the males. 

 What does concern me is the use of products on the head coat; the lowchen should be shown au natural.! When a judge puts their hands on the dogs  head all that work is in vain. 

Feet on some could be tighter and toenails need to be kept shorter.  

Please do not run with your dogs, as it affects the movement  

Puppy Dog 1 

1st Edwards. Cleeview Proud Pitta. 7 month old black and cream male. He is very much a baby, but his head is developing well. He has adequate width across his skull and his ear set is on level with his eyes. Eyes are dark and round and he has a correct scissor bite. 

Neck of good length leading into well laid shoulders. Forelegs straight with round bone. Short body,with a level topline. He needs to fill out ,but time is on his side. Hindquarters developing well, tight feet and he moved well when settled. B.P.I.B 

Junior 3. 

1st Pascoe. Jadechar Flashback Hero. 14 month old parti colour male. He looks to be a little over size,but when you put hands on, it is the coat that gives the wrong illusion. His head is strong and masculine, short and fairly broad. Skull flat between the ears. Eyes are dark and round; ears set on level with the eyes with long fringing. Correct scissor bite and defined stop. Nose black. 

He has a good reach of neck leading into well laid shoulders. His body is short and strong, holding a level top line on the move. Well defined hindquarters and tight feet. Tail set on correct.  

2nd MacFarlane. Kerryken Keir Rob. 15 month old Black and Cream . He has a pleasing outline and his head is of the correct proportions. Neck of good length leading into well laid shoulders, good body and adequate spring of rib. Hind quarters are developing well and his tail set on is correct. Tight feet. Just lost out on movement today. 

3rd Mansell. Teejay Take a Gamble.

1st Richardson. Eleazar Via Hollinsclose (Imp Ita) 

22-month-old Black and Sliver Male.  

His head is correct. Skull Flat between the ears. Large dark eyes round and full of mischief. Ears set on level with the eyes. Correct scissor bite. 

Neck of god length leading into well laid shoulders. Elbows tight to chest and his body is short and strong with a level top line. Good hind angulation and a cheeky rear. Tail set on correct and tight feet. When he is moved at a steady pace his movement is true. Please do not run with him R.C.C. 

Open 3 

1st Brown’s. Ch Jadechar Pride of the Hero. 

3 year old black and cream male, who shouts look at me when he comes in the ring. Super head of correct proportions. Eyes dark and round and full of life. Skull is flat between the ears and is of the correct proportions. Defined stop and correct scissor bite. Ears set on level with the eyes and fringing of good length. Good neck leading into well laid shoulders. Short body and good depth to chest. Elbows tight and round bone. Strong loin with moderate tuck up. Good strong hindquarters, with good second thigh. Tail set on correct. Moved well. Dog CC 

2nd Richardson and Eastwood.  Am Ch Hollinsclose the Gambler 

5-year-old Silver male.  His head is finer in type to my winner but is still of the correct proportions. Eyes dark and round, definite stop and correct scissor bite. Ears set on level with the eye. Good neck leading into well laid shoulders. Good body and level top line. Good hindquarters and tail set on correct. In good coat and movement not as animated as my winner. 

Veteran Dog. 2 

1st Macfarlane  Puplicity put a spell on you. Cream Sable male, thoroughly enjoying his day out. His head is of the correct proportions and eyes dark and round. Ear set on correct and correct scissor bite. In good body condition and he moved well. 

2nd Macfarlane. Sharlana Eagle Eye for Glendyke Shcm.  8 year old black and sliver male. He certainly does not look his age, nor act it. Good head and eye and correct scissor bite. Good body and tail set on correct. A little larger than my winner and playing his handler up today.

Puppy Bitch 1 

1st Parrington. Melicia Iolanthe 

11 month old black and cream bitch. Her head is developing well. Still needs to flatten between the ears. Eyes dark and round and a defined stop. Ears still need to drop a little, correct scissor bite. 

Neck of adequate length leading into well laid shoulders. Good body with adequate spring of rib for her age. Hindquarters developing well. Moved close behind. 

Junior Bitch. 1 

1st Brown. Broevans the Fun of it All. 

12 month old black and cream bitch,full of herself. She has the most feminine head,without losing any of the desired proportions. Correct scissor bite and ears set on level with the eyes. Eyes dark and round. Neck of adequate length leading into well laid shoulders. Elbows tight to body and body short with a level top line. Good hindquarters for her age and moved well. 

Limit Bitch 2 

1st Edwards Cleeview the Magic of Dreams. An apt name for a lovely black and cream bitch. She has a classical head ,of the correct proportions . Skull flat between the ears and a defined stop. Eyes are full of mischief dark and round. Correct scissor bite. Ears set on level with the eyes. Neck of adequate length leading into well laid shoulders. Elbows tight to chest and short in body, holding a level top line . Good hind angulation and tail set on correct. Nice rear. Moved at the correct speed. R.C.C. 

2nd Scarth & Gaunt. Bigglesmere All Cried Out. A pretty bitch in a smaller package. Everything about her fits her frame. Head of the correct proportions, eyes could be larger. Correct scissor bite. Adequate reach of neck leading into well laid shoulder. Short in body ,but on the day she was plaiting in front as she was moved to quickly. 

Open 3. 

1st Brown. Jadechar Marks Pride and Fun. 2 year old Silver and Cream Bitch. Full of attitude today; she has a good head of the desired proportions. Flat skull between the ears and dark round eyes, full of mischief. Ears set on level with the eyes and adequate fringing. Correct scissor bite with a defined  stop.Good neck leading into well laid shoulders. Good strong body, keeping a level top line on the move. Tight feet and tail set on correct. Nice cheeky bottom. Her coat is coming through well. Moved with drive. BCC and B.O.B. 

2nd Richardson. Hollinsclose Lady Luck. 5 year old cream bitch. She has a pretty head of the correct proportions. Skull flat between the ears and dark eyes. Ear set on level with the eyes. Neck of adequate length, leading into well laid shoulders. Good body, keeping a level topline. Tight feet,tail set on correct. Not as true in front movement as my winner. 

3rd Foster & Mrogan-Stanley. Golbourne Dreamed a Dream

1st Macfarlane Glendyke you rock my world. 4 year old bitch and what a sweetie. Good head with the gentlest of expressions, with lovely dark eyes. Correct scissor bite, short body and moved well.
