DOGUE DE BORDEAUX JUDGE MATTHEW SPINKS  

It was a honour and privilege awarding CCs for  this wonderful breed, as a owner and breeder this was a  very special moment .It was a very well run show with a wonderful atmosphere through out the day that the committee should be very proud of indeed . On the day some classes were very close as before me was some very nice examples of the breed but as always the highest honours can go to but a few . There was some very nice mature examples of the breed i would be happy to take home and likewise some very promising young prospects i expect to take center  stage as adults . Overall health and type of the dogs was good and i enjoyed my day very much. 

Minor Puppy Dog (2,2) 

Puppy Dog (3,1) 

1st, Cerisier All My Loving 11 months a very typical male who shows a lot of promise already . Nice clean good  proportions to the head . Good size ears and set framing the head nicely  . Good forehead, wrinkles and stop with clean eyes .Dentition good .  Good muzzle for age with nice up turn and well marked  chin. Good wide inverted v giving that very typical Bordeaux look.Nose could be a touch more open but OK . Strong neck and well laid  shoulders. Good depth of chest with strong  fore chest .Straight legs strong pasterns and tight feet.  Good ribs and loin for age . Well muscled through with nice angulation front and back . Moves very typical for the breed with head and top line line on a level plane with nice reach and drive for age . In good condition well handled, in the challenge for Best Puppy in Show it was a very close call both having wonderful breed characteristics at such a young age  .(BEST PUPPY DOG) 

2nd, Stattoo Zeus 10 months another nice  young male . Nice proportions to the head  with good width between good sized ears . Clean wrinkles good proportions to the muzzle . Nice nose , good dentition well marked chin .Eyes oval set wide apart giving a nice frank expression . Straight legs nice feet . Strong muscular neck merging into well laid shoulders for age .Chest broad powerful and deep with well sprung ribs .Nice solid back with good top line and broad loin  . Good angulation front and back with nice tail . Moved free and confident .  

Junior Dog (6,2) 

1st, Maruba Boom Shakalaka 12 months very strong imposing young male with a lot of quality already at such a young age . Good proportions to the head with nice size ears that are well set .Good forehead nice stop and strong muzzle . Powerful neck and shoulders with good fore chest . Straight legs good bone nice  pasterns . Well sprung ribs with broad lion  . Lovely width and depth . Powerful muscular body with harmonious outline , good angulation front and back .Nice thick tail of good length . Moves typical with head and top line on a level plane, good reach and drive . Very powerful young male , promising prospect  .   

2nd, Redripraw Lone Survivor 15 months powerful imposing young male with a typical distinctive head and forbidding expression. Skull broad nice width between the ears .Pronounced stop with distinct median groove. prominent forehead .Powerful muzzle with good proportions . Well defined chin nice inverted v.  Ears of good size set well . Strong muscular neck flowing into strong well laid shoulders broad chest of good depth . Good pasterns and feet with nice angulation front and back .Ribs well sprung with nice solid broad back .Hind legs nice and strong ,movement free . Fine short soft coat .  This is a very nice prospect indeed that caught my eye, both my one and two are males of excellent quality and i think have a bright future ahead of them, it was a close class for me .

Yearling Dog (4,0) 

1st,  Harleydeaux Hennessy 23 months Nice balanced young male with distinctive head and expression. Prominent forehead with lovely proportions to the head with good stop strong muzzle well marked chin. Eyes oval , good sized ears .Neck strong and solid merging nicely into shoulders .Strong legs with nice  pasterns .Nice deep chest good ribs solid back .Top line straight maintained on the move with good reach and drive .Good angulation  strong feet tight toes .Movement free supple and sound . Fine short soft coat . Nice clean young male of good proportions was close between my one and two .  

2nd, Justlazare Colossus 20 months another nice young male who gave my number one a run for is money as they are both very similar .Harmonious young male distinctive head and expression . Skull broad with nice width between the ears .Pronounced stop forming clean angles .Good clean wrinkles on strong cheeks .Nice proportions to the muzzle .I would like to see the nostrils and touch more open .Nice well defined chin giving a typical look .Nice frank expression eyes oval set wide apart .Good size ears set well .Neck strong muscular and solid . Strong shoulders good width and depth with nice fore chest.Well laid shoulders good bone with nice straight legs and pasterns . Chest broad powerful and deep. Nice strong top line maintained on the move .Strong hindquarters, broad loin, legs strong and muscular .Good angulation front and back . Sound free mover another close run class for me with my one and two.

Post Graduate Dog (6,2) 

1st, Justlazare Dark Knight (Al) 20 months Nice balanced black mask young male. Excellent pigmentation to coat , mask , eyes and noise . Powerful muscular body with harmonious outline .Distinctive head with that typical forbidding expression .Skull broad and wide between the ears .Nice pronounced stop forming clean angles to the muzzle .Nice clean wrinkles strong cheeks .Muzzle powerful and short good pigment to the mask .Eyes oval set wide apart  . Ears of good size with good pigmentation .Neck strong muscular and solid merging nicely into shoulders .Chest broad powerful and deep  . Ribs well sprung , back solid broad and muscular . Top line straight and maintained well on the move . Hindquarters strong, broad loin, angulation good front and back. Feet strong tight toes .Typical mover free and supple .Fine short soft coat . Well handled .  

2nd, Belsara's Heir of Vinzam 38 months nice clean balanced harmonious young male with good pigmentation . Powerful athletic young male with typical distinctive head and forbidding expression. Head large with characteristic  appearance .  Skull nice and broad with  pronounced stop. Good wrinkle strong cheeks with good proportions to the muzzle . Chin well defined with good lip placement and nice clean wide inverted v . Eyes oval set wide apart with good pigmentation .Ears of good size shape  and set . Neck strong and muscular , chest broad powerful and deep . Good top and underline . Well laid shoulders legs strong straight with good pasterns. Broad loin rear legs strong muscular and well angulated .Feet strong tight toes .Moved free and typical and close to the ground with good drive from behind. Coat fine short and soft .In excellent condition well handled another close run class between my first and second placing .  

3rd, Bellamiabam`s Just Two Of Us at Bullshola 

Limit Dog (6,0) 

1st, Valleyrein James Bond 4 years very beautiful typical adult male who had his work cut out in this class , every dog in this class on a different day was capable of being placed first which is nice to see in our males . For me my number one just  had that little bit more in type on the day, i loved his front end and head both very typical  .  This male really caught my eye and was a real contender for best dog . He moved typical for the breed but if he had just a little more drive from behind he was a real contender on the day for me for best dog . I loved everything about his head it is so typical of that forbidding expression desired in the standard . He appears powerful stocky and imposing . Head large with characteristic expression and appearance . The neck , body and ribs did also not disappoint he is a real eye catcher . Balanced male with good top line and front and back angulation , well handled in excellent condition . 

2nd, Temptress Ice Warrior at Bellamiabam 3 years Powerful imposing male with distinctive head and expression. Large characteristic head with broad skull and lovely width between the ears . Pronounced stop forming typical  angles to the muzzle . Fine symmetrical wrinkles on strong cheek muscles . Muzzle powerful short with good proportions . Well marked chin . Eyes , ears and nostrils typical . Strong muscular solid neck and shoulders that are  well defined . Strong bone straight legs good pasterns tight feet . Chest broad powerful and deep . Well sprung ribs , solid back, top line straight flowing into broad loin . Movement free well handled in good condition .  

3rd, Bravadogue Lord Claude ShCM 

Open Dog (8,0)  

1st, Emberez Torin 3 years excellent quality male . Powerful muscular harmonious body and outline.Stocky athletic imposing with distinctive head and forbidding expression. Pronounced stop with good proportions to the muzzle . Typical chin and wide inverted v giving that lovely Bordeaux look . Ears , eyes dentition and wrinkle all typical . Excellent fore chest with nice depth and width . Powerful neck, shoulders with solid bone supported by strong pasterns and  good feet . Well sprung ribs , solid back and  broad   loin. . Good angulation front and back allowing this well put together male to move typical for the breed with head and top line on a level plane giving nice reach and drive from behind what is so desired . In excellent condition and professionally handled . This male seemed to really enjoy his moment and for me out moved my number two with free supple movement and for that reason was awarded my Dog CC. (DOG CC , BEST OPPOSITE SEX) 

2nd, CH Loggerheads Aston Martin 6 years powerful muscular imposing male . Distinctive head and expression. Skull broad with nice width between the ears . Good stop strong cheeks with nice proportions to the muzzle . Wrinkles typical  and symmetrical . Well marked chin with typical wide inverted v . Eyes oval and set wide apart . Ears of good size, well set framing the head nicely . Excellent pigmentation carried all the way through to his nails . Wonderful front end with strong powerful neck and shoulders that are well laid  , nice width and depth  . Well sprung ribs solid back broad loin. In excellent conditions with fine short soft coat . For me my number one out moved my number two today hence my placing . (RESERVE DOG CC) 

3rd Bourgeoisie Bohemia . 

Veteran Dog (1,0)  

1st, Int CH Rozeldogue I`m Bulletproof ShCM  7 years beautiful balanced male in wonderful condition for his age and if I'm honest was a contender for best male in my line up . This 7 year old male did not look out of place today with the younger males  . He really enjoyed himself and gave all he had for his handler and was a pleasure to watch him perform  . So much can be learnt from our older dogs and it was a pleasure for me to go over him . Large characteristic head and expression with lovely width between the ears , well marked chin and inverted v giving him that beautiful characteristic look of the Dogue de Bordeaux . Prominent forehead with fine symmetrical wrinkles . Nice proportions to stop and muzzle . Eyes oval set wide apart ears typical . Well laid shoulders with nice broad chest which is deep and powerful. Ribs well sprung , back solid and muscular . Top line straight and held on the move but not surprising considering how well this male is put together  . Strong bone , good pasterns tight feet . Movement free and  supple  a pleasure to watch.  Coat fine , short , soft and in good condition . This male really enjoyed himself today and his owner should be very proud of his performance .In the challenge for Best Veteran in Show it was very close but i felt my male just had the edge on the female but none the less both never really put a foot wrong and it  was very close indeed .

Minor Puppy Bitch (6,3) 

1st, Bubba Red Beauty Bordeaux at Piechottka (imp) 8 months very nice puppy indeed , feminine but still carries all the points the standard requires at such a young age . Powerful muscular harmonious young female with distinctive head.  Head broad with characteristic expression and proportions while still retaining that feminine youthful look . Skull broad , pronounced stop forming clean  angle to the muzzle .Fine wrinkles good cheeks nice chin and lip placement . Nice proportions to the muzzle . Eyes oval with frank expression . Ears of good size well set . Neck strong and solid . Well laid shoulders , withers well defined .Legs strong nice pasterns tight feet. Chest broad powerful and deep with nice spring of rib . Back solid broad and muscular . Nice angulations front and back .Movement  typical with  a wonderful free open character . Just lost out in the challenge for Best Puppy Bitch to a very beautiful older puppy but I'm sure this puppy has a bright future .  

2nd, Aibrean Belladonna at Redashbud  7 months powerful strong young female already at such a young age . In my experience these young females need time when maturing but that's normal and healthy , everything is there just waiting to happen . Stocky , athletic with distinctive feminine head . Skull broad with  nice width between the ears . Nice proportions to the muzzle with well opened nostrils something that is important in our Dogues . Nice up turn with well marked chin . Strong solid neck , well laid shoulders with nice defined withers .  Legs very strong and straight , good pasterns tight feet . Very broad powerful deep chest , excellent width and depth with lovely spring of rib . Top line broad could be a touch firmer but that should come with age . Movement typical for age ,coat fine and short . In excellent condition well handled just lost out to my very nice number one.  

3rd, Kenaiteen Tunnel of Love . 

Puppy Bitch (6,0) 

1st, Bellamiabam La Vie Est Belle 11 months what a beautiful young female already showing so much promise at such a young age . Feminine but still carries all those breed points what one looks for in the Bordeaux. Young but still has that powerful muscular appearance . Stocky  , athletic imposing with distinctive feminine head and forbidding expression. Beautiful proportions to head , skull ,muzzle with well marked chin and beautiful distinctive wide inverted v . Ears , eyes ,wrinkles and dentition all good.Solid neck , well laid shoulders with defined withers . Chest broad powerful and deep . Ribs well sprung ,solid back . Top line a little soft but that should come good with age . Legs strong , nice pasterns tight feet. This young female works the ring and that can be seen in her open character and lovely free movement  She is defiantly one to watch for the future .She  beat the minor puppy bitch on maturity and won best puppy in show with her character, confidence and free movement . (BEST PUPPY BITCH , BEST PUPPY IN SHOW).  

2nd, Fairhero Go West 11 months nice young feminine balanced prospect . Harmonious athletic muscular  young female with wonderful pigmentation . Distinctive head with characteristic expression and appearance . Clean symmetrical wrinkles , good stop and muzzle . Nice chin typical inverted v. Eyes clean and oval set well framed by good ears giving that nice feminine Bordeaux look . Strong neck , excellent shoulders with lovely fore chest. Good depth and width all through this young female . Nice shoulders well defined withers . Chest broad and deep , with  good spring of rib solid back nice broad loin. Clean top line merging into well angulated behind . Legs strong , pasterns good nice feet . Moved well in excellent condition with fine short coat . Well handled , another nice young female with everything you are looking for in a young Bordeaux .

Junior Bitch (9,1)  

1st, Zeleski Cuba Rhumba 17 months this young female had her work cut out to win this class as there was some very nice young females before me that struggled for a place . Feminine muscular stocky body , distinctive head and expression . Skull broad with nice width between the ears . Prominent forehead with nice stop leading into a balanced muzzle. Clean wrinkles nice ears , eyes and dentition . Strong solid neck leading into strong well laid shoulders . Broad powerful deep chest.  Well sprung ribs with good top line and broad loin. . Nice straight legs , good pasterns tight feet . Typical movement with nice fine short soft coat . Well handled in good condition . 

2nd, Stattoo Athena Via Redlouis 10 months another nice young female full of type who lost out to my number one in reality on maturity . My number one being older and in this period of development a 7 months gap is a lot . A lot going on at a young age in this female , muscular stocky imposing female . Typical head for age with good expression . Skull broad nice width between the ears . Clean symmetrical wrinkles with strong cheeks . Good stop nice proportions to the muzzle . Eyes set wide apart with frank expression. Ears of good size and set  framing the head nicely . Neck strong solid merging into well laid shoulders . Chest broad powerful and deep . Well sprung ribs strong back broad muscular loin. Legs strong for age with nice pasterns tight feet . Movement typical well handled . Fine short coat in good condition .  

3rd, Biscay Sharki  

Yearling Bitch (7,2) 

1st, Justlazare Poison Ivy 20 months  harmonious outline powerful yet still feminine with stocky and imposing look . Distinctive head with excellent expression . Skull broad with nice forehead and width between the ears. Pronounced stop clean wrinkles excellent muzzle . Well marked chin and inverted v giving that typical Bordeaux look . Eyes oval with typical frank expression . Ears size and set good framing lovely femine head . Strong solid neck flowing into strong well laid shoulders . Broad powerful deep chest ,well sprung ribs , solid back broad loin . Strong legs good pasterns tight feet . Movement typical however i would like to see her a touch more relaxed to show the beauty this female possesses . Pigmentation good with characteristic fine short soft coat .  

2nd, Zeleski Chica De Cuba 16 months another very nice young female indeed capable of being my number one on a different day . Nice clean harmonious stocky female . Distinctive head and expression. Skull broad , nice pronounced stop , clean wrinkles . Nice proportions to muzzle , well marked chin . Eyes oval set wide apart framed by good ears. Neck strong , well laid shoulders with broad deep chest .Nice sprung ribs , solid back broad loin. Powerful stocky proportions to this females body. Good strong legs supported by correct pasterns on nice tight feet. Nice angulations to front and back . Movement typical . Nice fine short coat in good condition .  

3rd, Harleydeaux Carven.    

Post Graduate Bitch (3,1) 

1st, Canisred Dory 2 years harmonious young female muscular stocky with distinctive head and characteristic femine expression. Large skull with nice width between the ears . Prominent forehead set with good ears framing the head nicely . Clean symmetrical wrinkles , strong cheeks , nice stop good muzzle . Nice nostrils  with well marked chin forming nice inverted v. Eyes oval set typically wide apart , frank expression . Strong solid neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Chest deep , powerful and broad . Excellent top line which she carries on the move with good reach and drive. Would like to see her relax a little to really show herself . Broad solid back strong loin . Strong legs , good pasterns nice feet . In good condition with nice pigmentation on  fine short soft coat . Nice balanced  female . 

2nd, Justlazare Hit Em High 2 years Powerful muscular imposing female . Large characteristic head with typical expression . Prominent forehead, clean wrinkle , strong cheeks . Nice proportions to muzzle with well marked chin. Eyes oval set wide apart with frank expression. Ears of good size and set framing the head nicely ,strong muscular neck , well laid shoulders . Chest broad powerful and deep . Top line is a touch soft and i would have liked to see her move a touch more free .Well sprung ribs solid back broad loin. Angels front and back typical. Strong legs , good pasterns tight feet . Fine short coat with good pigmentation . Lost out to my more balanced number one .  

Limit Bitch  (5,2) 

1st, Loggerheads Chloe 3 years for me this was a very close class between my one and two both capable being my number one  . Feminine yet still powerful stocky imposing muscular body . Distinctive feminine head and expression . Broad skull nice stop clean wrinkles . Muzzle powerful  , nice up turned  well marked chin but i  would have liked to see better lip placement with upper and lower lips giving that typical inverted v . Eyes oval set well . Ears typical framing the head nicely .Strong solid neck , well laid shoulders . Chest broad powerful and deep, solid all the way through  . Well sprung ribs , broad back and loin. She can move well and typical i would just like to see her more relaxed on the move with a touch more confidence . Nice angels front and back , strong legs , good pasterns nice feet . Well muscled throughout , fine short soft coat. 

2nd, Cerisier Breaking Dawn 2 years another beautiful feminine Bordeaux who is balanced and harmonious with breed type . On a different day she could easy be my number one and a contender for best bitch. She has a distinctive head and expression for a female . Lovely proportions to forehead , stop and muzzle . Fine symmetrical clean wrinkles .Eyes oval set wide apart giving that typical desired look . Ears of good size and set framing her beautiful head nicely. Nose could be a touch more open but OK . Well marked chin with wide inverted v . Feminine proportions to body but yet still strong and muscular . Nice straight legs , good pasterns tight feet . Moved free and supply with head on a level plane with the top line, nice  reach and drive  . Lovely character in excellent condition with short fine soft coat . well handled .  

3rd, Emberez Laney . 

Open Bitch (7,2)  

1st Soultime Keep The Faith 3 years for me this female stood out as she entered the ring . She owned her space and her character made it obvious why these dogs have been used for  centuries to perform their traditional work . She is powerful muscular stocky and very imposing . Obviously feminine but still displays all what the standard asks for in a typical Bordeaux .She has that typical dissuasive look that is so desired  .It is the small details like her powerful broad jaw which was so typical of Dogues of old finished off with  her very thick tail  of good length . I'm not going to quote the standard chapter and verse as for me she displays everything asked for in a beautiful typical Bordeaux . It was  close for my Best Bitch and Best in Show but for me this female had just that little bit more as she covered the ground with her free supply movement with  excellent reach and powerful drive . A worthy winner for my Best Bitch and Best in Show ( BITCH CC , BEST IN SHOW)  

2nd, Int/Multi CH Banzai Betty Boop JW ShCM , Jnr Ir CH ,CJW,BW 3 years another top quality female who is capable of holding her own anywhere in the world today . Another close run class and a contender for best female . Harmonious female with feminine distinctive head and expression. Wonderful proportions to head and muzzle . Eyes ears typical with nice clean symmetrical wrinkles . Solid neck with well laid shoulders . Chest broad deep and powerful.Good spring of rib solid back broad loin. Nice clean top and underline which she holds on the move , typical movement with head and top line on a level plane with nice reach and drive. Strong legs , nice pasterns tight feet . Movement free and supply . Excellent pigmentation throughout with fine short soft coat in good condition . Well handled , a pleasure to have such females before me . (RESERVE BITCH CC) 

3rd, Gammorreon`s April .  

Veteran Bitch (1,0) 

1st Emberez Silhouette with Soultime 7 years another beautiful female in wonderful condition for her age . Balanced female with distinctive head and expression . Skull broad with  nice width between the ears . Prominent forehead with clean wrinkles . Strong cheeks good proportions to muzzle with well marked chin . Nice wide nostrils . Eyes oval set wide apart. Good size ears well set . Muscular neck , withers well defined . Chest powerful broad and deep . Solid back and top line , broad loin . Strong legs , nice pasterns good feet . Movement free supple with head and top line typical for breed with good reach and drive for her age . Fine short coat in seasonal condition . This female of 7 years did not look out of place in my Best Bitch line up and the owner should be very proud . In the challenge for Best Veteran she just lost out to my male as for me he just had a little more spring in his step on the day . (BEST VETERAN BITCH)
