Breed: Best In Show

In judging BIS you are restricted by what dogs are sent forward from others. When I saw the Group judges listed I knew the line up was not going to be disappointing for me. I did not imagine just how good it would be. Having watched all 7 groups be judged, I don’t think I would have changed the main result of any of the groups. The quality was so strong I ended up totally spoiled for choice. Previously, I have given a BIS to one of the Group winners and two of the other Group winners have won a Group from myself and the remaining contenders have been admired from ringside. To the breed and Group judges thank you for giving me the strongest BIS line up I have had the pleasure to judge to date. Every dog had their two mins to perform and I was literally splitting hairs to find the winners but in my opinion two of the dogs just gave that tiny extra bit of sparkle

BEST : 162 GRIFFITHS Mr M : Lanfrese Argento BOXER Dog

Just 16 months old and this dog is a star through and through, yet the best is yet to come. He really looks like he is destined for greatness. Medium sized, square as a box, the perfect combination of strength with just a hint of elegance that comes from the crested neck leading into the defined withers, rippling with lean muscle that flow into a perfect slightly sloping topline and correct tail set. He has leg length, depth of chest and strength of body but nothing overdone. Short strong loin. He is set under himself in front, giving correct rounded look to his well enough filled front that corresponds in balance with his rear angulation. He has strength and width across his thigh. This dog gleams and is a lesson on body condition and correct exercise. He moves so true and typical and keeps his outline at all times. He even walks into a stance naturally and maintains his correct outline and use of neck. To top it all his head is excellent and beautifully balanced. Masc with no coarseness, correct proportions, depth and width to jaw, well filled under the eyes and not overdone. No excess wrinkle, perfectly set ears of a nice size that frame the head and finished with dark expressive eyes of the correct size and shape placed correctly in the skull that give the distinctive intelligent yet naughty expression so unique to this breed.

RESERVE : 4270 WATKINS Miss S : Jun Ch Albionspitz Blue Moon Bjw18 Bw19 Ww18,jww18

I have already given my critique In the Utility Group and nothing has altered other than he stepped up another gear today. Only two years old and again his best is yet to come.

Thank you sincerely to Leeds committee for inviting me and to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge such a great line up for BIS that I will never forget.
