Welsh Kennel Club

Breed: Siberian Husky

Thanks to the exhibitors for such a quality entry. The Limit classes were particularly strong, with some excellent dogs being placed down the line.

Veteran Dog (2,0)

1st: Platt’s Rykalov’s Sparks at Wightflight Athletic. 7 year old grey and white who had left his coat at home. Balanced angulation and good neck length. One of the best movers of the day. Good topline.

2nd: Rogers & Hardstaff’s Demon Blue Eyes. 14 year old black and white gentleman, pleasant head and expression. Moved quite well, just a tad wide behind..

Puppy Dog (1,1)

Junior Dog (1,0)

1st: Wakker’s Shaytaan's Winter Soldier at Ceannabeine. 16 months white. Super angulation and correct proportions. Attractive head and expression. Looked good in profile covering a lot of ground. Slightly loose front at the moment but that should correct with maturity. If he gains in confidence and learns to overlook incidents happening in adjacent rings he should have a bright future. Liked him a lot.

Post Graduate Dog (4,0)

1st: Emery’s Polarcreek Atigun Pass to Navajos. 3 year old grey and white. Cracking head and expression. Excellent shoulder placement balanced by a well angulated rear. Good coat. Moved very well once settled. Does have a tendency to carry his tail a bit high.

2nd: Wright’s Snowrun Echo. Almost 2 year old, grey and white. Excellent muscle tone. Masculine head and pleasing expression. Angulation is balanced, if a little straight. Moved soundly enough, but not covering the ground as well as 1. Would prefer slightly longer loin.

3rd: Bolsover’s Charmedkelz Hippogriff

Limit Dog (9,1)

1st: Cooper’s Janskcoo's Fortitude JW. 3 year old grey and white. Sound throughout, his excellent free-flowing, ground covering movement won him this class. Pleasing head, good angulation and correct slope of pastern. RCC

2nd: Emery’s Navajos Agent Utah. 6 year old black and white. Another very well constructed dog. Very attractive head and expression. Moved well, looking good in profile, but not quite as true as 1 coming and going. Close decision.

3rd: Leich, Leich & Koops’ Forstal’s Inola

Open Dog (2,0)

1st: Redwood’s Rigrunner Jubilee Flotilla. 7 year old grey and white. Nothing flashy about him but he has all the attributes necessary to fit the standard. Head masculine but not coarse, correct proportions, excellent angulation front and rear, good pasterns. Has substance without being heavy. Effortless ground covering movement. CC & BVIB

2nd: Wright’s Pelenrise Brite Horizon JW 6 year old grey and white in good coat. Attractive his head and expression. Well angulated. Correct height to length of body but would prefer more neck length. Moved soundly but not the reach or drive of 1.

Veteran Bitch (4,0)

1st: Smith’s Rajarani Lilia Anana. 10 year old beautifully presented white. Very pretty head. Correct proportions and good angulation. Very sound with light-footed movement.

2nd: Bowering & Evans’s Ch Penkhala's Kyra 10 year old grey and white. Another well angulated, sound lady. Nothing to choose between 1 and 2 on movement today. Would prefer a little more substance.

3rd: Norman’s Skimarque Anna Pavlova

Minor Puppy Bitch (1,0)

1st: Spruce’s Mysticwolf Kira’s Legacy. 8 month old grey and white. Pretty head and expression. Shoulder angulation OK, good rear angulation. Good length of leg. Movement just a bit loose as is to be expected at this age, but went well. BPIB

Puppy Bitch (2,1)

1st: Spruce’s Mysticwolf Diesel’s Dream. 8 month old grey and white litter sister to the MPB. Good angulation front and rear. Attractive head and expression. Movement OK but she did not go quite as well as her sister. A bit timid but if she can get over that she should do well in future.

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1st: Lightfoot’s Forstal’s Elu Flo Of Footlite. 13 month old grey and white. Well constructed and in proportion. Super mover, looking good in profile as well as coming & going. Head OK, good earset.

Post Graduate Bitch (10,1)

1st: Emery’s Chatanika’s Dragongirl Over Navajos. 2 year old white. Classic foxy head and mischievous expression. Very well angulated with correct proportions. Moved soundly and effortlessly. RCC

2nd: Wakker’s Shaytaan’s Ooermissus at Ceannabeine. 2 year old white. Another really good example of the breed. Excellent angulation, good proportions and super movement. Earset is a tad wide but otherwise does have a nice feminine head.

3rd: Jones & Mihulka’s Shaytaan’s Upyours at Icynights

Limit Bitch (7,0)

1st: Brown’s Deshka’s Cassiar Dyr For Polarcreek. 2year old grey and white. Nice feminine head. Nicely balanced with correct angulation. Elegant, flowing movement, sound in all respects. Good coat.

2nd: Casola’s Sassicaia’s Chocolate Lady at Podrigal 5 year old grey and white. Pretty head and expression. Good angulation, correct proportions. Moved well. Very close decision but I felt that 1 just had the edge on movement.

3rd: Bowering & Evan’s Penkhaha’s Kaska

Open Bitch (6,0)

1st: Wakker’s Icynights Sparkle In The Mist At Ceannabeinne 5 year old black and white. She fits the standard so well and is the perfect illustration of what is meant by ‘medium’ and ‘moderate’. Smashing head and expression. Her movement is superb and she looks as if she could go on forever. Obviously enjoys showing and her personality stands out. CC & BOB

2nd: Robinson & Platt’s Ch Rigrunner Jubilee Flypast JW. 7 year old grey and white. Another quality bitch. Good proportions and correct angulation. Moved well but with not quite the verve of 1. Pushed hard In the challenge for the RCC but I just preferred the head of the PGB.

3rd: Brown’s Polarcreek Alatna
