Driffield Championship Dog Show
Driffield Agricultural Society - Championship Show
20th September 2019
Cocker Spaniels
Thank you to the Driffield committee for giving me the opportunity to award CCs for the first time. I was delighted with my entry both in numbers and in quality. I want to thank all exhibitors for taking the time to show their dogs under me on a Friday as I appreciate that’s not always easy to do weekday shows with work commitments. Some exhibitors had travelled a long way which was much appreciated and I could tell the hours that everyone had spent on their dogs presentation. My two Stewards were brilliant keeping the ring running smoothly throughout the day so a big thank you to them.
Veteran Dog (3 entries, 0 absentees)
1. Pretty, Miss J J – Multi CH Joaldy Mandoline Wind JW ShCm – Black and white dog of 9 years of age, a dog who was a pleasure to go over and certainly doesn’t look his age at all. His strong well muscled rear quarters produces drive on the move also loved his width on the move. Professionally handled and presented to perfection which for a dog with so much white on takes dedication. Made my shortlist in the challenge.

1. Almost 5 years to the day from me giving him best puppy in show at a breed open show I got to judge him once again and he didn’t disappoint. He is everything a cocker should be, he melts you with his dark gentle eyes, masculine head without exaggeration, short and cobby, correctly angulated throughout, strong well boned and toned muscled body with correct depth and width, all this comes together in perfect harmony on the move giving free flowing, effortless movement with the correct amount of width. This dog just adores his owner and its clear to see the feeling is mutual and they both work together as a team which for me that special bond just makes him even more special than just matching our breed standard.
