Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show

19th May 2019

English Toy Terrier (Black & Tan)

My first time awarding CC’s in this delightful breed. I must thank the exhibitors for their entry and the very sporting way my decisions were taken. It truly was a case of judging on the day.

Dogs

Puppy

1: EDALENE DARK VICTORY (MISS R H & MRS C H INCH), 8 month old who is a little erratic at present, but everything is in the right place. Ears strengthening. He moves well in profile but just needs to tighten coming towards you. In superb condition. He has time on his side.

Junior

1: WITCHSTONE PLACE YOUR BETS AT CAPLEDRAE (MR R & MRS M BENNETT), close between these. This dog has a good head and ear. Strong neck into correct topline. Totally balanced and moves with reach and drive in profile. In super condition. Standing he produces the desired outline and he has an air of confidence about him that draws your attention. CC and BOB which, I was told, was his all-important third.

2: WITCHSTONE BLACK HAWK AT AMALRIC (MRS W IMRIE), liked this dog very much too. His head and expression are excellent. Good strong ears and strong neck. Well made, he just lost his topline slightly. Moves with purpose and catches the eye in profile. Certain champion. RCC and BP#

3: PENMARLAM MR BROWN (MESSERS T & G & MRS A BURGESS & MCGOWAN & DRING)

Post Grad

1: WITCHSTONE PLACE YOUR BETS AT CAPLEDRAE (MR R & MRS M BENNETT)

2: WITCHSTONE TAROT'S SUN (MR C K & MRS C M LOWE), good for size and in super condition. Presents a pleasing outline and uses himself well. Delightful temperament.

3: RANDALLCARR ROYAL COMMAND (MR D & MR W GRAY & TRAVIS)

Limit

1: LASAGESSE MAJOR TOM (MISS H & MISS S NOWELL & CROSSLING), decent for size and type, he pleases in head, ears and expression. In super condition. Correct topline and balanced in angulation. On the move he is enthusiastic and covers the ground. Real Terrier attitude.

2: SHAREX IF I CAN DREAM FOR EDALENE (MRS C H INCH), pleases in head and expression. A little exaggerated in topline. Moves well in profile, just a little erratic going away today. Solid little man.

Open

1: WITCHSTONE STANDING ROCK AT LASAGESSE (MR G & MRS L DIXON), good for size and masculine in outlook. Correct head shape, strong neck. Decent topline. Moves well in profile, just could have a little more strength behind today. Decent one though.

Bitches

Puppy

1: WAUKESHA MAGIC TOUCH FOR RUSSIATREE (MR D & MRS J OWENS), Both of similar type. The winner scored in head and expression. Decent topline and, when she decided to do it properly, moved with reach and drive.

2: WAUKESHA ROCKAHULA AT RUSSIATREE (MR D & MRS J OWENS), another very pretty head and expression. Probably a slightly better topline but just a little erratic on the move today. They will change places on another day I’m sure.

3: EDALENE ALL ABOUT EVE (MRS C & MISS R INCH)

Junior

1: WITCHSTONE FANCY A FLUTTER (MESSRS N & A GOURLEY & LEONARD), superb bitch. Anybody that needs to understand what an extended trot is, should watch this bitch on the move and digest. Delightful head and expression. Strong ears, good neck into correct topline. Lovely for size, feminine yet still has strength. Couldn’t resist her today and so was my CC winner, her first. For BOB it was the overall confidence of the dog that tipped it in his favour. However, this is a class act that is a certain champion.

2: LASAGESSE DEFINITELY MAYBE (MR G & MRS L DIXON), another really decent bitch for type, she pleases in head and expression. Completely balanced and it was here that she won her place. On the move she is decent in profile, just not the reach of the winner.

3: WINTER STAR AT KIKUCHI (MR C, MRS S & MASTER L EVISON)

Post Grad

1: PELUGIAS THE SECRETS OUT AT PETITPAWS (MISS V COX), super for size and type. Liked her head and expression, correct topline and moves well in profile. Super markings

2: INDIZAK ANNE BRONTE (MRS P REEVE), smaller type, super ears and liked her expression. Moved well in profile, just a little erratic on the out and back. Coat and skin super.

3; INDIZAC CHARLOTTE BRONTE AT RUSSIATREE (MR D & MRS J OWENS)

Limit

1: NJABULO JAKAYLA (MISS H & MISS S NOWELL & CROSSLING, decent for type and size, she won the class on drive behind today. Pleasing head and expression, good ears, strong neck and correct topline. Well conditioned and handled.

2: EDALENE NEVER LET ME GO (MRS C & MISS R INCH), another who pleases for topline and type. She just could have used herself a little more today in profile.

Open

1: CH WITCHSTONE MINNEHAHA (MR A LEONARD), interesting class as they vary slightly in type but I’m sure easily change places on other days. This bitch is in super condition and scored today on precision on the move. Super for size and type. Presents an eye-catching outline both standing and on the move. Pipped in the challenge by her younger kennel mate who just had that little extra today. RCC

2: CH SHAREX BURNING LOVE FOR DOBRUGH JW (MESSRS T D & D & MRS K J & MISS C E BURGESS & BROWNE & WILLIAMS), liked this bitch very much too and if honest, preferred her head and expression. Can absolutely understand why she has done so well. She just was a little erratic behind today and this was the deciding factor, shame.

Veteran

1: ARIANE OH WHAT A NIGHT AT EDALENE SHCM (MRS C H INCH), delightful young lady in superb condition. Super head and expression, correct topline and balanced in outline. Moved on the right track. BV

Special Beginners

1: INDIZAK ANNE BRONTE (MRS P REEVE)
