Italian Greyhounds Bath 2019

Many thanks to Bath Committee for inviting me to judge, I have always loved the Bath showground, immaculate grass and well sized rings. The weather was kind to some and not to others. As always, there was some compromise with some looking good stacked and not so good moving and vice versa, top lines were variable, especially on the move. Temperaments were good on the whole. Some teeth were a problem.

Minor Puppy Dog 2 (0)

1st Hunters Salatini Santino – Elegant fawn of a lovely size, pleasing head and ears and a nice expression, this one held his top line and moved out very well indeed, would have just preferred a little more weight. BP.

2nd Lockie’s Kimblidon The Earl of the Errol. – Really elegant Fawn/white, lovely head and neck. Good length of ribs and again this one held his top line on the move, just needs to tighten a little in front.

1st Knight’s Marlord’s Starstruck at Aelaro – Black/White boy of a pleasing shape with a nice head, well placed ears, good length of neck. Good deep chest and moved out very well.

2nd Rigby’s Rockiggy Start Me Up – Smaller build than 1 but well put together, could have a bit more length to head but had a lovely top line and underline to match, moved well enough.

3rd Jones and Amsel’s Artmeis Moon of Mercury

Post Graduate Dog 3 (0)

1st Hubble’s Rockiggy Light the Fuse – Lovely for size, good head and expression, nice reach of neck into a well placed shoulder. Moved out very well.

2nd Righton’s Aceofaces Nomad Sould of Zephryelli – Lovely for size, nice lean head and good ear placement and neck set. Deep chest, good topline, moved OK but just tended to throw a front leg coming towards.

3rd Channing-Moor’s Cresties Field of Dreams

Limit Dog 5 (0)

1st Tiley-Davies Toerag Little Scamp – Great for size, nice head and eye, was a well balanced dog but tended to lose his top line on the move and today was fond of his tail.

2nd Palmer’s Rockiggy A Bigger Bang – Lovely for size/shape, good head and ears, a well placed shoulder, good neck and a nice gentile rise over the loin. Moved well enough.

3rd Henshaw’s Gemolli The Magician

Open Dog 4 (1)

1st Bird’s Ch Tamiskene Rhumba JW – Fawn dog of a lovely size, pleasing head and eye, good neck and a lovely body shape, moved out really well today to take the Dog CC.

2nd Palmer & Spencer’s Rilloby Shine a Light over Rockiggy – Good for size, lovely head which flowed into a good neck and shoulder. Nice rise over the loin which he kept on the move, moved out very well.

3rd Palmer & Spencer’s Ch Rilloby Satisfaction for Rockiggy

Veteran Dog 2 (1)

Henley’s Ch Turigner Thunderbolt JW – Lovely head and ears on this boy, good neck flows onto good shoulders, he had good proportions all through. He looked so well for his age, would have preferred a little cleaner in rear movement. RCC.

Special Beginners Dog – 3 (1)

1st Rigby’s Rockiggy Start Me Up.

2nd Van Zyl’s Rockiggy Ruby Tuesday – This one had a lovely shape and had a lovely expression, wasn’t helping his handler moving today though.

Minor Puppy Bitch – 2 (0)

1st Hunter’s Salatini Serafina – Blue bitch, beautiful head, well set ears, nice long neck. Moved well when she settled, just needs time to drop into herself.

2nd Langland’s Kimbildon Blue Bonnets – Smaller built than 1, would have preferred a stronger head piece, nice enough shape and moved OK once settled.

Puppy Bitch – 2 (0)

1st Langlands Kimbildon Highland Fling – Very elegant Fawn/White bitch of a nice size, good head and neck set, nice and shapely with a rise over loin, moved well, keeping her shape.

2nd Righton’s Zephryelli Luciana – Shapely enough but would have preferred a better shoulder and a little untidy coming towards on the move.

Junior Bitch – 4 (0)

1st Rigby’s Rockiggy Brown Sugar – Nice Fawn elegant bitch of a super size, would have preferred to be finer all through and carrying a little too much weight but moved out well.

2nd Knight’s Marchwind Reno Casino at Aelaro – Different type to 1 and smaller all through, would have preferred a stronger head. Although shapely, was a little untidy on the move today.

3rd Van Zyl’s Rockiggy Ruby Tuesday

Post Graduate Bitch – 3 (0)

1st Doherty & Steele’s Jaros A Dance with Dragons Imp USA – This bitch was up to size but had a lovely head and eye, good neck with well placed shoulder. Moved out well.
