Weimaraner Club Of Great Britain

Breed: Weimaraner Club of Great Britain

The Weimaraner Club of Great Britain Championship Show 2019 – Bitches

I had the honour of judging the bitch classes and would like to thank the committee of the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain for inviting me and for making me very welcome.  I would also like to thank my two very efficient stewards who kept everything running smoothly.

I have not judged my breed for a number of years and in my opinion we have lost a lot of the breed characteristics that say “Weimaraner”. We have lost the prominent occiput, flat skulls seem to be norm along with short lips (flew). Ears, again these are short and not to the length that is required in the standard. Therefore we are unfortunately losing the aristocratic head of the Weimaraner.  When I first came in to the breed, feet were a huge problem. Not many had arched toes and today there were many with flat feet and long toes. Saying that, I was really impressed with my final line-up and could have awarded more than one CC and RCC and was delighted that my co-judge, Christine Rayner, agreed that the bitch CC winner would be Best In Show.

BITCHES

Minor Puppy – 2

Two very promising puppies.

1st Phillips - Rivertone Head Above Water

A baby at just 6 months with a feminine head and moderate length of neck leading into well laid shoulders. Still yet to drop in brisket but this will come with age, good length of back and rear angulation. Lovely silver grey colour and for just 6 months she moved positively with reach and drive.

2nd Finch - Silberliss Solitaire

Another baby of 6 months. Different in type to the winner being more compact and deeper in the chest. I liked her front and rear angulation. She too has a feminine head with a gentle expression and good length of neck. Not as positive on the move in this class but she became more settled and steady in the subsequent classes. I am sure these two young ladies will swap places many times.

Puppy – 6 (2 abs)

1st Burgess - Kalimor Olive For Nemrac

Taller substantial girl of 11 months having excellent body proportions. Liked her feminine head and gentle expression. Excellent depth of chest with well angulated shoulders. Good length of back and spring of rib, well angulated rear. Moved on a long positive stride with a lovely tail carriage. Well handled. Best Puppy Bitch.

2nd Hostler – Kalimor Daisy

Litter sister to the winner and similar comments apply. Although not as mature as the winner, I preferred her overall size. She is well boned but not overdone, lovely expression and good body proportions. Unfortunately not as positive on the move as the winner today but I am sure she has a very promising future.

3rd Crowther-Russell &Crowther – Hundwith Gift of Thyme

Junior – 7 (1 abs)

1st Burgess – Kalimor Olive For Nemrac

Repeat of Puppy

2nd Hostler – Kalimor Dasiy

3rd Murray – Rachmor Silver Tassie

Yearling – 7

1st Batty – Almoor Macey Gray JW

Pale 18 month young lady of a moderate size and correct for her age with nothing overdone. Excellent length of neck leading into well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest with correct length of back and well angulated rear. Although she moved very steadily, I would prefer to see her with a little more animation.

2nd Ruddy – Netherhill Euro Million JW

I thought this 23 month girl was going to be the class winner. Stood and moving in profile she presented a very balanced picture having the correct body proportions and depth of chest. Loved her for her size and substance. More mature in body and slightly darker in colour than the winner but well within the standard, she has excellent front and rear angulation. Moved on a long stride with reach and drive but just preferred the front of the winner.

Graduate – 6

1st Matthews – Silvermews Shiomi JW

2 year old, maturing nicely for her age. I liked her for her overall size, substance and body proportions. Lovely feminine head and expression with correct ears. Moderate length of neck leading in to a well angulated front. Ample forechest and good depth of brisket. Correct length of back and rear angulation.  Moved well with reach and drive holding her tail correctly. I liked her a lot, just wish she was carrying a bit more weight.

2nd Pryor – Smilek More Than A Woman

Another 2 year old who is maturing nicely. Not overdone in anyway having good angulation front and rear. Good depth of chest. A little darker in colour and slightly shorter in the back but moved positively with enthusiasm.

3rd Davies & Brown – Joneva Cocktails And Dreams at Wystry

Post Graduate – 2

1st Upton-Lovett & Upton – Gunalt Lustrous with Roydack

Having watched this girl from the ringside since she was a puppy, it was a pleasure to go over this medium sized girl. Another not overdone in anyway and showing good body proportions. I particularly liked her head and expression. She has a moderate length of neck with a good forechest and length of back. My notes say “a nice moderate bitch”.

2nd Stamp – Gunalt Two To Tango with Tynsil

Slightly taller and darker in colour, this girl has a feminine head with a good length to height ratio. Moderate angulation front and rear and good depth of brisket. Unfortunately carrying a little bit too much weight which spoilt her outline.

Limit – 9 (4 abs)

1st Cooper – Deifstock Dazzling Star JW

A medium size girl who is maturing well. I liked her for her substance and overall body proportions. Another girl with nothing overdone. Lovely feminine head with a kind expression and correct length of flew. Good length of neck leading into well angulated forequarters. Strong level topline. Moved positively showing reach and drive. Pushed hard in challenge but lost out on maturity.

2nd Thrasivoulou – Skilaki It’s De Lovely JW

Medium sized well boned mature girl with a lovely feminine head and correct pigmentation. Moderate length of neck with ample forechest. Excellent length of back and depth of brisket with good rear angulation. Moved showing positive reach and drive and another with the correct tail carriage. I liked these two girls a lot and they could change places on another day.

3rd McDowall & Rutland – Sireva Hot Line To Khamsynn JW

Open – 5 (1abs)

1st Robson – Kalimor Armani At Robricci JW

Mature well boned young lady on the taller side of standard showing the correct body proportions. Lovely feminine head with a melting expression. Correct length of flew and well set ears. Moderate length of neck leading into well angulated and well laid shoulders. Just the right amount of forechest and depth of chest.  Good length of back and well angulated rear. Moved with reach and drive with the correct tail carriage. Was delighted to award her the CC, her third, and was thrilled that my co-judge agreed to award her BIS.

2nd Thrasivoulou – Skilaki Born To Move

Medium size well boned girl of a lovely silver grey colour with a feminine head but not the length of flew as the winner. Moderate length of neck with good angulation front and rear. Excellent length of back and depth of brisket. Another who moved positively with reach and drive holding her tail correctly.

3rd Anderton – Tatze Bewitched By Thrihyrne

Champion – 3

1st Oddie & Dyer – Sh Ch Sharnphilly Ruby Aura JW

I liked this girl for her medium size. She is well boned standing on lovely tight feet, with a lovely feminine head and soft expression. Excellent length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders with the correct amount of forechest and depth of chest. Good body proportions and well angulated rear. She flowed around the ring holding her top line.  Well deserved Champion – RCC.

2nd Simpson, Dawson & Clarke – Sh Ch Sireva Senna With Coastedge JW

A more substantial girl with well angulated front and rear. Moderate length of neck. Good length of back and depth of chest. Slightly paler in colour and although she has a feminine head with a good length of flew, I preferred the head of the winner.

3rd Rutland & Jones –Sh Ch Khamsynn Coast Liaison JW ShCM

 Special Breeders – 5 (1abs)

1st – Murray – Rachmor Silver Tassie

12 month old pale silver young lady with a feminine head and good length of flew. Moderate length of neck with moderate angulation front and rear. Good length of back and depth of brisket. Would prefer less tuck-up. Moved well. Just needs to mature in body to complete the picture.

2nd Brown & Filby – Desjiem Blueberry Pie JW

More mature but carrying a little bit too much weight. I liked her for her substance and type having a feminine head with a good length of neck leading into a well angulated front. Correct body proportions with a good depth of chest and correct rear angulation. Moved well holding her topline.

3rd Carpenter – Aschfahl Jagerin
