ITALIAN SPINONI- Judge KAREN JAMES 

I would like to thank the committee of LKA for the invite to judge at there well run show, thank you to my lovely stewards who kept the ring running smoothly, and lastly thank you to the exhibitors for there sporting manner, so nice to hear clapping around the ring and exhibitors congratulating one another, which is sadly lacking these days. 

My main concerns was seeing so many with weak hocks especially when free standing and moving, and a lot of Brown Roans are too dark in colour, also the lack of hind angulation giving a stiff appearance when moving is not the movement of a Spinone.

 I was looking for a medium sized robust dog with free easy movement and am happy to say I was more than happy to find that in most classes.

1st: BOVIO Mrs K J & Mr G Inostricani Masai At Ilsolo

What a fabulous B/R puppy to start with,10 month old who was one of the few on the day of correct colour. Stunning head with a lovely kind expression. Super divergent head planes with correct large spongy nose. Good eye colour and low ear set. Strong oval bone with straight front and good feet. Strong neck and shoulders with deep chest and minimum tuck up. Lovely square outline. Correct coat and skin. Strong rear with correct angulation and correct tail set. Lovely free and easy mover who kept his topline on the move. CC & BP. Should have a very promising future.

2nd: SPENCER Mrs J & Mr S Gradevole Signor Pi 

W/O of 9 months, not at together as 1 but a lovely puppy with strong oval bone and prominent sternum. Good head with a soft expression and good eye colour. Straight front with good width,Strong neck and good shoulder placement. Correct top line & tailset, good rear angulation. Coat of correct texture,Moved soundly once settled 

3rd: GILES Miss K Gradevole Signor Banda 

JD (6 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: SAYNOR Ms J C Testaverde Rugero Raimondi 

Nice sized B/R dog with masculine head ,Correct divergent head planes. Good straight front with correct bone. Deep chest with minimum tuck up. Strong topline with correct coat texture and skin. His movement which was free and easy won him the class. 

2nd: COZENS Mrs P Van De Witthemhoeve Shelby At Ballyadeen 

W/O of 10 months with a good head & expression , still needs to mature in body ,good front, bone & feet, well placed shoulders, strong over the loin, strong hind quarters & a good coat, sound mover

3rd: CULLING Mr P J & Mrs T A Lucoru Here Comes Summer

1st: THOMPSON Mr J R & Mrs V A Testaverde Back For Good at Paradeco 

Won this class on his lovely outline, B/R which is a shade dark in colour. Masculine head with good divergence. Soft expression,Well laid back shoulders, correct topline and underline. Coat of good texture, well muscled hindquarters which he used to advantage on the move. 

2nd: CIESIELSKI Ms V Javal Rossi 

Another B/R again a shade to dark. Balanced head with a kind eye, good front and correct bone. Well sprung ribs, good topline,strong hindquarters, longer in loin than 1, moved freely. 

3rd: GILL Mr T J & Mrs C Testeverde Enrico Caruso Del Jocagil 

LD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: MACPHERSON Mrs G A Milisimo Corrente Del Rokeover 

W/O dog who is very square and balanced in outline. Masculine head with divergent head planes. Well boned and good spring of rib. Correct topline & underline, coat of good texture would like to see him stripped out more to show his lovely outline ,Well muscled rear but would just prefer a little more angulation . Won this class on his free easy movement 

2nd: SPENCER Mrs J & Mr S Gradevole Gandini 

Another well balanced Male,a tad broad in skull but with a super kind expression, strong neck, deep in brisket, very good skin and textured coat. Super muscular condition, moved with a free and easy movement. His compact outline won him his place. 

3rd: DEWAR Miss S Macarica Harrys Rock Jw

1st: ROSSITER Mrs L Sh Ch Inostricani Galaxi 

Very appealing dog with such a lovely head & kind eye giving a soft expression ,Neck muscular, shoulders well laid back,Body of good proportion, chest broad and well let down, Excellent topline & underline,Hindquarters powerful,He moved on great stride, but just preferred the showmanship of my winner. RCC

2nd: KHENKINA Mrs M L Multi Ch Stannamore Vittorio Tomasso EJW14 

Strong powerful B/R of good colour, masculine head with a lovely dark eye. Good width all through, well sprung ribs, coat of good texture and length, well muscled hindquarters which he used well on the move. 

3rd: CHALLANDS Mr & Mrs M & L Sh Ch Mistyayre Gigolo For Annilann Sh.CM 

VD (3 Entries) Abs: 2 

1st: BLYTHE Mrs R Sh Ch Talpalupo Ettore 

7 years B/R of good size. Lovely head planes and soft expression, correct front and strong oval bone, good topline, coat of good texture but too dark in colour, well muscled hindquarters with good angulation, lovely free movement.

A real B/R baby of 7 months, beautiful soft expression with a good eye, correct shoulders and topline, needs to drop in body but has time, coat of good colour and texture, good hind angulation, moved so well for a youngster.

W/O of 10 months. Lovely head with good divergent planes and pronounced occiput. Lovely dark eye & soft expression. Strong oval bone,Correct coat and skin. Well sprung rib with good depth, strong hindquarters, Won the class on her free movement, such a happy mover. Best Puppy Bitch.

2nd: HURRION, Ms K & HOLDER, Mr A & MURTLAND Mr R Tyark Dolce Cannella NAF TAF 

Loved her colour and good overall shape. Nice divergence through the head,Good fitting eye of nice colour. Strong neck into well open shoulders,Deep brisket with correct sternum. Excellent coat, well muscled hindquarters, just needs to lose a bit of weight, moved freely.

This girl just oozes quality for me .Beautifully balanced in outline , lovely tight eye with an expression to melt your heart.Strong neck into well laid back shoulders. Strong oval bone and tight feet.Deep in forechest with strong pronounced sternum, ribs sprung and well back into good strong loin. Well angled and muscled rear and tail set on correctly. Beautifully presented coat of good texture and length,Moved with ease round the ring so freely, such a showgirl!, Was a pleasure to give her the CC & BOB and watching her in the big ring where she done our breed proud.

2nd: FRY Ms J E Stagerun Skylark 

W/O bitch who was not giving her handler an easy time,her movement was hard to access due to not liking the flooring, such a shame. Feminine head with kind eye. Good front with oval bone. Deep chest with good spring of rib. Correct rear angulation, good coat texture.

Squarely built B/R bitch of good colour,Lovely head with good divergent planes ,Nice dark eye giving a soft expression. Well boned with strong sternum. Correct coat and skin. Well sprung rib with well muscled rear. Won her place on her free movement.

Lovely W/O bitch with excellent topline just a shade longer in loin than 1. Correct front and rear angulation. Strong oval bone and good feet. Excellent neck and shoulders. Correct coat and skin. Lovely free mover

Correct angulation for & aft ,good coat but would like more length, Lovely mover once she stop playing up her handler! Best Veteran

Lovely 10 year old W/O bitch who belies her age! Feminine head with gentle expression. Strong oval bone . Excellent coat and skin. Correct topline which she holds on the move. Good rear angulation and tail set. Still has such lovely relaxed movement.
