Weimaraner Club Of Scotland

Breed: Weimaraner Club of Scotland Championship Show

Weimaraner Club of Scotland Championship Show.

Sunday 10th November 2019.

I would firstly like to thank the Club Committee for asking me to judge their Special Awards classes at their recent Weimaraner Club of Scotland Championship Show. I felt very honoured to have been asked. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for bringing their lovely dogs for me to judge.

Special Awards Junior Dog or Bitch. (8 entries, 2 abs.)

This was a lovely class to judge, all lovely young dogs and so different.

 1. Mrs C Rayner & Mrs S Maskell, Kalimor Accolade at Raystans JW.

Substantial 14 month old dog with great height to length ratios. Lovely colour with an aristocratic head. This along with a moderate stop, correct ear length and scissor bite. He has a good strong front with a well developed forechest. Clean neck leading to a straight top line. Brisket down to the elbow and well sprung ribs, also with a correct tail gait. He is well muscled and has moderate rear angulation with well arched feet, which all contributed to his easy parrallel movement around the ring. Very well behaved and didn’t put a foot wrong. I am sure he will follow in his fathers’ footsteps.

2. Mr D & Mrs A Halliday, Greysprit Orora T’challa.

This pretty, young 7 month old bitch puppy is a little poppet. She is obviously still very raw and this was only her second show, but she took it all in her stride. She has lovely colouring, with good height to length ratios. She comes along with a very pleasing head, complete with correct ear length and scissor bite. She has a clean neck leading to well laid back shoulders. She has a moderate forechest, a straight front and well arched feet. Elbows are down to brisket and she has a moderate rear angulation and good parrallel movement. Held her top line well for one so young and she seemed to enjoy her time in the ring.

3. Mr S A & Mrs S J Cain, Schonhund Show Tallulah.

Special Awards Open Dog or Bitch. (15 entries, 4 abs.)

What a lovely class to judge. Some difficult decisions as they were all so differently constructed and I liked them all.

1. Mr A Batty, Sh Ch Edingorse Ethereal at Almoor JW, Sh CM.

This 5 1/2 year old bitch caught my eye as she entered the ring. She is a beautiful pale colour and not overdone in any way. She has a pretty, feminine head, correct ear length, moderate flews and scissor bite. Correct height to length ratio and elbow down to brisket. She has a moderate forechest, a good straight front and well arched feet. Clean neck and well sprung ribs, complete with a moderate tuck up. She has moderate rear angulation, and she kept her topline and moved effortlessly around the ring. She is very worthy of her title, fit for function and I liked her very much.

2. Mrs C Rayner & Mrs S Maskell, Sh Ch Gunalt Academy of Raystans JW, Sh CM.

This 5 year old male presents a total look of stamina. Sire of my second youngster in the previous class and many of his lovely attributes have been passed down. He is a powerfully built dog that also has an aristocratic head, correct ear length, moderate flews and stop. He has a good strong forechest, leading down to a straight front and well arched feet. Good height to length ratios, level topline, and elbows down to brisket. He sports well sprung ribs and a moderate tuck up. He has well muscled hind quarters, tail down to hocks and a moderate rear angulation. All of which gave him his strong drive around the ring. Another dog worthy of his title.

3. Miss C Ruddy, Sh Ch Netherhills Got Talent JW.
