DOGS: 134 entries

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the Club Committee for running such a nice show, all the exhibitors to let me have the honor of judge their dogs, my very effective team of ring stewards, making everything much easier, and my colleague Mrs. Janet Buckingham for sharing a great weekend.

About my dogs today, I’m happy with the average quality level, specially about proportions, boy & coat condition and temperament. It’s always a great pleasure to judge the breed in the UK and the sportsmanship of every exhibitor is also something to remark.

SPECIAL VETERAN DOG: 5 entries (No absents)

1. Brown’s GUNMARSH TAMARIND STAR OVER IPCRESS JW; 9.5 y.o., in top condition, looking much younger. Very balanced all over, noble head with a lovely expression, excellent body/leg proportions, correct topline and a nice and easy movement keeping his passion and enjoyment of the ring. Best Veteran.

2. Wooden’s SALAKO SMOOTH OPERATOR; 9.5 y.o. Another one in excellent condition. Great class dog with a nice head, excellent body and topline. Upper arm could be a bit longer. I like very much his coat and also the movement, opting to win the class till the end.

3. Hennesy’s SH. CH. THORNYWAIT MCSHAY AT RITZILYN JW

MINOR PUPPY DOG: 7 (1)

1. Grainger’s AMILONE FLINTSTONE; One of the stars of the day. 8 months old boy of good maturity for his age, very balanced and with the appropriate proportions. A head to die for, good reach of neck and level topline. Good angulations and coat and a very nice movement for a puppy. We’ll hear of him in the future! After winning 3 more classes he was, in agreement with my co-judge, BPIS

2. Golder’s GEMBAEK’S PLAY THE FUNKY MUSIC (IMP) NAF TAF; More immature than the class winner but with a lot of qualities. Very interesting for the breed to have this kind of puppies. I like very much his balance and outline. Happy to see this front, neck and shoulders, something of capital importance in our breed. Very sweet head and a lovely temperament. Happy in the movement, he only needs a bit more time.

3. Cruttwell’s POLE POSITION DU BOIS DE LA RAYERE AVEC ASHBYGLEN (IMP FRA)

PUPPY DOG: 10 (1)

JUNIOR DOG: 9 (4)

1. Craig & Wilcock’s CAMROSE ARTORIAN; Superb type, solid with everything in the right place. Mature in body and balanced in angulations, I like very much this kind of head. Excellent coat. Moves well, although a little accelerated all the time.

2. Edmunds’ SUNNYOAK GOLD HILL; Very good type dog with a typical head and good angulations. Good body, still a bit immature. Good coat and very good movement, where he had his best chance. Presentation could be a bit better, but it will comes with time and more experience. A happy first show for both dog and handler.
