I really enjoyed judging this lovely breed for the first time at this level. Numerically one of the best entries of the show, which of course is usual. My efficient, helpful stewards kept the ring running smoothly so I was able to finish on time. I found plenty of really good dogs, most with good proportions and none resembling a Clumber. Fronts were one of the main problems.

Minor Puppy D (4) Thought this was a v good class to start. 1st: 2978 NORRIS Mrs S Fenpinque Magnum Opus at Molestream Baby of the class at 6 mths. His balanced angulation, leading to easy action won the class. He is a bit strong on head as yet & could be cleaner in throat. Lengthy neck. Quite good shoulders. Deep chest. Well sprung ribs that go well back. Firm rear, that matches his front. Level topline. V good prospect. Liked him a lot. BP 2nd: 3007 TRINDER Mr A Thornywait Showstopper Liked his proportions. He has a super head with v good eye and expression. Moderate neck, which could be better set with a slightly better shoulder. Grand body. Firm topline. Liked his head, well balanced with a kind eye and expression. Lengthy neck. Well laid shoulder and a good return of upper arm. Deep chest. Ribs need to spring. Level topline with a short loin. Well bent stifle. Moved well. 2nd: 2973 MORSS Mrs H Xanthos Futterwacken Liked his overall shape. A little strong in head. Enough neck. Could have a better shoulder and upper arm. Deep chest. Level topline. Well bent stifle with low hock. Not the front action of 1. 3rd: 2931 EDMUNDS Mrs T Sunnyoak Gold Hill Yearling D (4) 1st: 3010 VICARS Mrs & Miss M & C J Peersbrook Game Set Match JW Well proportioned d with an easy action. Well proportioned head. Would prefer better pigment. Moderate neck. Quite a good front. Deep chest. Well sprung ribs. Firm topline, but can slope in topline slightly. Moderate rear. Nice mover. 2nd: 2912 CHAPPELL Miss M L Creekside Royal Nuptials 3rd: 2898 BECK Mrs S Happier De Ria Vela (Sp Imp) Novice D (6,2) 1st: 2912 CHAPPELL Miss M L Creekside Royal Nuptials 2nd: 3002 TAYLOR Mr J M & Mrs B M Alibren Eccles At Tannadice V much a baby but promising. Earned this place on his easy and lengthy profile action, still needs to come together up and back. He has a bit too much stop and could be cleaner in throat, enough neck. Moderate and balanced in angulation. V good head, correct stop and skull. Lovely expression. Medium neck. Moderate but balanced angulation, fairly accurate moving but short steps. Holds a firm topline. Grad D (8,1) 1st: 2984 RANDALL Mr N J & Mrs J A Kelverquest Portland Bill JW Fairly clear winner of this class. He has an appealing head. Lovely eye and expression. Enough neck. Ok front. Deep feet. Chest to his elbow. Well ribbed with a level topline. Low hocks. Best mover in class.Hid overall balance and soundness earnt him RCC 2nd: 2992 ROSE, Mrs D & NEIL Ms M Gildas Amori Infiniti (Imp) Lot of good points to this d. Head is balanced if just a little plain. Moderate neck. He has a slightly forward front assembly. Deep ribs. Level topline, held on move. Enough hind angulation. 3rd: 2939 GRAY, Mrs B S & HALES Miss W B Sunnyoak Morning Glory At Grayales Post Grad D (7,1) 1st: 2938 GILTSOFF Mrs V J Endellion Spinnaker Clear winner on his easy movement and head. Well balanced head, super eye and expression. Moderate neck. Could have a better shoulder. Deep chest. Well sprung rib. Could be slightly shorter in loin. Holds a firm topline. Well set tail. V good rear, which he drives from. Nice deep feet. 2nd: 3000 STABLES Mrs S Kalindra French Connexion Avec Roshinru 3rd: 2932 EVANS Mr & Mrs M Mardargold Diamond Geezer Mid Limit D (5,1) 1st: 2971 MALE Mr S E & Mrs H I Putjade Pay The Piper At Malenbrook JW Really liked the proportions of this d, and he is in the most lovely hard condition. Masc head, could be a bit better in skull and he is deep enough in stop. Kind expression. Medium length of neck. Could have slightly more angle to shoulder and upper arm. Chest to elbow. Well sprung ribs. Firm topline. Short loin. Well set tail. V good rear. Accurate out and back with decent stride. Still some maturing to do. 2nd: 2953 JACKSON-HAINES Mrs J Anguskye Run To You By Leighsham JW He has a v good head and went well. Could have slightly more leg for his length. Correct stop. Moderate neck. Fair front. Straight legs with slope to pastern. Deep chest. Holds a better topline than 3. Low hocks. 3rd: 2922 COOK Mrs W Calarose Over The Moon JW Limit D(14,1) 1st: 2960 LANE-RIDYARD Mrs P Kulawand Final Quest Liked his proportions. He is v good moving out and back, using his rear so v well. Pleasing head, well balanced. Eyes could maybe be better set. Has a lengthy neck. Well laid shoulder. Could be a bit better in upper arm. Chest to elbow. Well ribbed back firm loin. Moderate rear. So v well muscled. 2nd: 2936 GERHOLD Mrs J Jaymardy Indigo Pacific JW V well made d, just a little bit longer in back than 1. He has a v good head with kind eye. Lengthy neck. Quite a good front. Level topline. Well sprung ribs. Good turn of stifle with low hocks. V good going away. 3rd: 3021 WHITE Mr & Mrs J Forbendale Ice Bear Open D (5) Not a huge class, but headed by 3 top quality dogs. 1st: 3008 TRINDER Mr A Sh Ch Thornywait San Valentino JW Sh.CM Super outline and is in really hard condition. Super head. Well balanced muzzle to skull. Good eye and expression. Enough neck. Shoulders could be very slightly better, but has a lengthy stride. Well sprung ribs. Level topline. Well bent stifle with low hocks. Moves with an east stride, excellent foot fall. Put on a consistent performance to take CC & BOB. Pleased to see his shortlisted in the group. 2nd: 2937 GERHOLD Mrs J Sh Ch Ramchaine Fabulicious (Imp) JW Sh.CM Thought him v similar for type and also in super condition. Liked his masc head. Enough neck. Slightly heavy over his shoulders. Deep chest. Well ribbed back. Level topline. Well bent stifle with low hocks. Lengthy neck. Well made in front. Well ribbed back. Lengthy neck. Slightly better in shoulder than 2, who it turns out is her litter sister. Deep chest. Well ribbed. Level topline. V good rear. Super profile mover. Just needs time to hit the top spots. 2nd: 2947 HAZELTON Mr J & Mrs L Cailloch Sitka Close up and most of the above applies. She too looks v good in profile action. Can still spring in rib. Maybe a bit too much turn of stifle, low hocks. 2nd: 2949 HEWITSON Mrs G Seruilia Splash of Class A heavier type of b. She has a well balanced head. Super eye and expression. Moderate neck. Well ribbed back. Moderate rear, could have more angle to hock. Easy profile mover. 3rd: 2920 COLE Mrs L P Rooksbury Phantasia Post Grad B (10) Quite an even class. 1st: 2965 LEEMING Mrs M Kadaka Kameo at Iscadu She is well balanced and has an even stride. Fem head. Enough neck into quite a good front. Deep chest. Can be careless standing in front. Well ribbed. Firm topline. Liked her rear. 2nd: 2944 HARDING Mrs L J Eveninghill Mad As A Hatter V fem b, liked her proportions. Lengthy neck. Not the shoulder of 1. She has a v good body, liked her rear. 3rd: 3020 WEDGE Mrs L J Riverscharm Devona Rose Mid Limit B (7,4) 1st: 2986 RODGERS Mrs M Rojillair Evening Magic of Odarla JW Could have just a bit more leg for perfect balance. She excels in profile movement, could be slightly better going away and she is just a bit long in second thigh. Fem head. Kind eye and expression. Lengthy neck. Well laid shoulder. Good body and rib. She has a well laid shoulder but a bit upright in upper arm, so not quite as clean coming to in front as I would want. Grand body. Firm topline. Accurate on move, could just have a bit more enthusiasm. Top class b. CC, didn’t try hard enough against the lovely male. 2nd: 3018 WARD Mrs J Lux Ch & Sh Ch Laurenley Layla JW She has a super outline. Pleasing head, could maybe have a bit more muzzle. Super neck. Well laid shoulder. Just needs a bit more fill of chest. Well ribbed. Level topline.
