Paignton Miniature Pinscher

Enjoyed judging this breed, turned out to be a family affair. The biggest challenge is movement. The UK standard is very clear (as is the FCI in requiring something entirely different), however the true hackney action was only evident in a handful of exhibits, and you have to judge the whole dog, not one point. Plenty had some leg lift, but not a hackney. V sporting crowd and good to see exhibitors giving a newcomer advice at her first show. Some real depth in the puppy classes

Minor Puppy D (2) 2 really good pups to start, both smart with sharp outlines. 1st: 4724 MCILROY-STRACEY Mrs P Krieger's Elf Fantastico Thought he had the better head of the pair, more balanced muzzle to skull, can grow into his ears. Enough neck. He is well ribbed. Can improve in feet. Firm topline. V good rear. Would like more of a hackney, but accurate. Cracking pup. RCC, BP and later PG2. 2nd: 4713 DUNN Miss V M Hawksflight Code Breaker At Valetta Liked him a lot and has a hackney action. Well set ears. Good neck. Correct front. Well ribbed. Good rear. Could have better feet. Just a bit wide coming towards at the moment. Puppy d ne Junior d ne Post grad d (3,1) 1st: 4715 HARRISON Ms J D Kaypin Take A Chance On Me With Trenson V good outline. Masc head. Dark eyes. Better ears than 2. Enough neck. Can stand a bit wide in front. Super ribs. Hard topline. Well made rear. Typical action. 2nd: 4725 PARK Mrs J A Rayjen Carrot Cake Liked his proportions. Strong head. Lengthy back. Could have better feet and pasterns. Moderate in angulation. Super coat texture. Short steps and feet hardly lift. Limit d (2) 1st: 4706 BALDWIN Mrs J Nightstorm Ticket To Ride Masc d, won class on his better topline and forechest. Flat skull, head could be cleaner. Ears are well set, enough neck. Good front. Super body and rib. Wood rear. Fairly accurate on move, could have more of a hackney action. 2nd: 4704 ALLEN, Mrs V & SMITH, Miss H & REES Mrs T Telidor Thumbs Up With Tinolucianna Liked his size. Well balanced head. Super eyes. Good neck. Nice front feet. Well sprung ribs. Good turn of stifle with low hocks. Open d. (6) Really strong class that took a lot of sorting out. 1st: 4716 HARRISON Ms J D Ch Kaypin Dum Dum Diddle With Trenson Really liked his outline and proportions. Masc head, could be slightly cleaner in skull. Good neck. Well made front, with a hackney action. Well ribbed back. Hard topline. V good rear. Accurate on move. Stood away despite the strong company. CC & BOB 2nd: 4720 KING, Miss L & NETHERTON Mr M Estivals Opie Majik Liked his outline v much. A better head that 1 but not quite as firm in topline. Grand neck. Well filled chest. Well ribbed. Good turn of stifle and low hocks. Accurate on move but could have more of a hackney action. 3rd: 4707 BANTON Ms D Darkiss Smokin Aces Sp beginners d ne Sp beginners b (1) 1st: 4709 BILLINGTON Mrs T Bamtybo Bonbon Avec Yrieix Beautifully schooled, fem b. Could have a slightly stronger muzzle, flat skull. Enough neck. Decent front with good front action. Well ribbed. Topline could be better. Moderate rear. Minor puppy b (4) 1st: 4727 SANTORIELLO Mr D & Mrs S Pinicio Tinsel In A Tangle She is more forward than 2 and presents a sharp outline, if slightly long. V good head, well balanced and clean. Super eye and expression. Correct neck. Well made front. Big ribs. Ribs go well back, but loin is a longer than idea. Holds a firm topline. Enough hind angulation. Typical movement. 2nd: 4710 BISLAND Mrs J Krieger's Eternal Flame I liked her v much, raw at the moment and at an all leg stage. Fem head. Super eye and expression. Ears ok. Good neck. Well bodied and liked her length of back. Can still firm up on move, as you would expect. 3rd: 4719 JAMES, Ms S & ADAMS Mrs M Jaegerson Takes The Biscuit Puppy b (5) 1st: 4708 BANTON Ms D Krieger's Eye Candy With Darkiss Really lovely minor pup. Super outline, just holds a firmer topline than 2. She has a fem head can grow into her ears. Crested neck. Correct front. Well sprung ribs. Short back. Moderate hind angulation. Accurate out and back with some hackney. RCC 2nd: 4728 SANTORIELLO Mr D & Mrs S Pinicio Wrapped In Red Close up and she too is a super pup. Liked her fem head. Lengthy neck. Good front and she has some hackney. Well ribbed. Good turn of stifle with low hocks. Just needs to firm up, but only 7 mths. 3rd: 4721 LEWIS Ms A Vardenais Apples Jade Junior b (2) 1st: 4709 BILLINGTON Mrs T Bamtybo Bonbon Avec Yrieix 2nd: 4705 ALLEN, Mrs V & SMITH, Miss H & REES Mrs T Tinolucianna Red Velvet With Telidor Fem b, nice shape. Needs more confidence on the table, but fine on the floor. Liked her well balanced head. Good eye and expression. Lengthy neck. Level topline. Well bent stifle. Tends to short step with no hackney. Post grad b (4,1) 1st: 4712 DAVIES, Mrs S & WATTS Mrs R Estivals Hot Gossip V fem b who won this class on her coordinated hackney action. Would prefer a stronger head, slightly rounded in skull. Ok neck. Straight front. Short back, can firm in topline. Good rear. 2nd: 4726 PARK Mrs J A Rayjen Yum Yum Liked her proportions. Lengthy head, could be slightly more feminine. Long neck. Well ribbed. Firm topline. Moderate rear. Just a bit untidy out and back. 3rd: 4736 WILKINSON Mr & Mrs C & R Keljantzi's Zaheera Limit b (4,1) Thought this was a very even class. 1st: 4733 WATTS Mrs R Hawksflight White Russian At Estival JW Sh.CM She has good proportions and the best mover with some hackney. Would like her narrower in skull with higher set ears. Long neck. Correct front. Could be firmer in topline. Well sprung ribs. Good rear. 2nd: 4711 COLLINSON, Mrs C J & DARE Mrs S E Collypins Don't Do It Daphne She too has good proportions. Lengthy head with a flat skull. Enough neck. Level topline. Enough hind angulation. Just a bit untidy coming towards. 3rd: 4734 WHETTER Miss D Tubize Macy At Mandolais Open b (5) 1st: 4731 STRACEY Miss R Ch Krigers's Dark 'n' Delicious JW Sh. She has a v good outline. Well balanced, fem head. Would prefer smaller ears. Correct neck. Super body. Firm topline with slight slope. Good rear. Would like slightly better feet. Moves well with some hackney. CC 2nd: 4729 SHEPHERD Mr T J & Mrs J P Ch Shetopa's Kiwi Crush JW Sh.CM Liked her outline and proportions. Pleasing head. She too could have smaller ears. Needs a little more fill of chest and more of a hackney. Firm topline. Well ribbed. Good rear. 3rd: 4737 WILKINSON Mr & Mrs C & R Ch Jaycroft Jessie Jay With Keljantzi JW
