BRITTANY CLUB of GB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW  13th July 2019

Special Stakes Classes

Many thanks to the Brittany Club for inviting me to judge the Special classes. The classes were well filled with some quality dogs and I was splitting hairs on some placings, unfortunately a few that presented an excellent picture when stacked disappointed on the move today. I really enjoyed my day at this friendly and well organised show. Well done to the Committee for putting on a super show which was held on day one of the Brittany Le Week-End.

WRIGHT SPECIAL YEARLING DOG OR BITCH  (4)

1st  Cook’s HIGHCLARE ONLY ONE AVEC TAILLISIDE (AI)

A quality youngster that stood out for his overall balance and sound workmanlike construction. Masculine in head with correct proportions and good muzzle shape. Excellent forequarters, elbows well in and deep in chest. Correct short back and very firm over loin, adequate rear angulation with well-developed muscular thighs and strong hocks. A precise and brisk mover and holding his topline well in profile. He is only young and has nowhere near reached his full development or potential. Fun times ahead with this boy.

2nd Purawal’s ROCHUS NICO

Another pleasing youngster that presented an overall correct shape when stacked. Pleasing head proportions, expressive eyes of good colour and well shaped ears. Neck moderate and had well laid shoulders. Deep brisket, adequate bend of stifle and good tight feet but did not have the positive rear movement of my winner today.

3rd Rodger’s  JASSENDUE OREO

HAWKWISE BAIRN SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG OR BITCH  (7)

1st Coveney’s  CHALLOWMOON NAYA

A very attractive young bitch, well up for size but retains overall balance and is so well constructed throughout. Loved her pretty head and expression and dark eye. Clean over neck leading to best of shoulders and good straight front with ample bone. Has correct slope to topline and solid well muscled hindquarters. Excellent coat condition. The best mover in my classes today at one with her handler. I’m sure she will go on to make top honours

2nd Anderson’s  ROCHUS NOBLE

A very pleasing well boned male of good substance with square outline. Best of heads with correct proportions, dark eye with intelligent expression. Muscular forequarters with shoulders well laid, deep in chest and strong over loin .Well muscled rear quarters and thighs of good width and strong hocks. Attractive tri-colour in good coat condition. Erratic on the move today.

3rd Southorn’s  ROCHUS NELKE

MALBEC SPECIAL OPEN DOG OR BITCH  (14)

1st  Ryan’s PATOUCHE JAIMEE

A very sweet headed bitch, feminine throughout with moderate stop and correct triangular ear shape.  Neck of medium length, well laid shoulders and good straight front assembly. Firm back and well moulded rear, solidly built throughout. Adequate bend to stifle and stood on good compact feet. I found her pleasing to go over and she presented a clean balanced outline when stacked. Her very positive and brisk movement won her this strong class.

2nd Coveney’s  SH CH TILLYBIRLOCH JEM

A mature cobby male, very well off for substance and ring presence. Masculine head with adequate stop, good muzzle shape. Strong neck and well muscled shoulders, elbows well in and deep in chest. Firm body, short back with correct length to height ratio. Adequate bend to stifle and broad thighs. Shown in excellent coat and has good feathering. Moved with purpose with correct short stride. Well handled and a very worthy Show Champion of the breed
