 THE BRITISH MANCHESTER TERRIER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW SATURDAY 12TH OCTOBER 2019

I would like to thank the membership of the BMTC for giving me the opportunity to judge their Championship Show.

On the whole Temperaments were excellent and all mouths and dentition good, on the down side light and round eyes seem to be creeping in and we seem to be loosing the shapely what i call curvaceous body and getting a more flat back which in my opinion is not typical of the Manchester Terrier. Bitches are more superior to the dogs at the moment.

MINOR PUPPY DOG

1st Mrs L Plant Plantocracy Bold Bruce lovely 6 mth puppy who has a good head with neat ears and nice dark eye, he is a nice overall shape with a lean neck leading into good shoulders, topline and tailset. He is nicely angulated front and rear, good bone and well marked thumb prints. pleasing to the eye from all angles, steady movement, nice temperament. Hope he doesn't grow much more. BP & BPIS

1st Mr, Mrs & Miss M Oxley Digelsa Double Top Well grown youngster who is all male he has a strong masculine head with cracking ear set and lovely dark eye and shape. He is well marked with dark pigmentation. He has good angulation front and rear, nice depth, not to deep. He has good length to neck and has a nice shape just a little longer than ideal but does not distract. Moved and handled well

2nd Mr & Mrs C & S Bratcher Rattustrap Dark Matters Not as mature as one but he has a decent head but ears need to settle, he has good markings and thumb prints and is in hard muscular condition moved okay

1st Mrs S O’Boyle Pauceline Furet at Ruffagga He has a nice head with medium eye, he is nicely angulated with enough depth, he has nice markings and has a nice body shape but on the table appeared a little taller than length which made him look slightly unbalanced. he moved okay and has an excellent temperament

Difficult class to judge due to a variance in type and size

1st Miss S Willis Talanors Super Treat ShCM This dog is of old style who is not the best showman who unfortunately lets himself down due to this lack of showmanship, look past this and he is a dog of overall good construction, he has a decent head and eye he is a nice size and shape with good bone and markings, he has good angulation, topline and tailset. Would like to see more get up and go on the move.

2nd Mr & Mrs A Hebb Paucelin Falster JW Different type to 1 but he has a decent head with good ears and medium eye he has good markings and well defined muscle, he has good angulation and carries his tail well, he has an excellent temperament and moved well

1st Mr C Carter CH Digelsa Declaration Given this dog top honers before,what a showman, he has good pigmentation and an excellent head with lovely high set ears, lovely dark expressive eye with nice shape, he is nicely angulated front and rear, he has an excellent temperament and never stops showing. He is in good hard condition and moves well coming and going, a credit to his owner and his breeder/handler pleased to award him CC and BIS

2nd Mr & Mrs L & A Spain CH Talanors Diamond Tornado Another worthy CH who has a decent head and eye, he has a shapely body with good angulation front and rear, he is well marked and moved well coming and going and held his shape would like to see a little more covering. RCC

 clear markings.she has an excellent temperament just needs to settle in movement but looked to be enjoying her day

2nd Mrs S O’Boyle Plantocracy Hermione at Ruffagga another nice pup who has a good head and eye but ears need to lift and settle. She is nicely angulated and is a nice shape, should mature well. Nice temperament

1st Mrs C Straughan Talanors Time To Shine at Mannikai Quality youngster with a decent head and eye, a little more filling would complete the picture. She has nice ears which just need to settle. She has a curvaceous body leading into excellent croup and tailset. She has good angulation front and rear and deep chest with legs set well under and elbows tight, wouldn't want her to be any deeper in chest. She moved well front and rear and held her shape on the move. Handled sympathetically

1st Mrs S O’Boyle Ruffagga for Annoria this youngster still has a lot of maturing to do but she is a nice shape with good tailset and has a pretty head and medium eye but her ears are rather low set, she has good clear markings. she has good angulation but would benefit more schooling

2nd Mr S Bailey Gayneswood Private Kelly This young lady was carrying way to much weight and needs more ring craft however she is a lovely size and has a pretty feminine head with good ear set has a lovely front and shapely body with good angulation front and rear she has a nice temperament with a little work she could do well

GRADUATE BITCH

1st Mr & Mrs L & A Spain Pinkadees Golden Monkey Standing she is a nice shape to her body but would benefit from loosing a few pounds. She has a good head and eye but let down with upright ears. She has good markings and is nicely angulated. Moved and handled well.

POST GRADUATE BITCH

2 nice girls both had different attributes to offer both of nice size but could do to lose a little weight

1st Mrs L Plant Ruffagga Ritzy Rizzo This bitch had the better ear set if a little low she has a nice head and medium eye. She has a nice shape to her body with good tailset. Nice steady movement

 2nd Symes and Pease Paucelin Kite. Pretty feminine head and eye but let down with erratic ear carriage. She is well marked and has a nice shapely body with good depth and has good front and rear angulation and nice steady movement with good tail carriage

3rd Miss J Judge Harliboo Pretty in Pink at Ysabelkid

1st Miss L & M Olbinson & Kelly Rattustrap Citra at Carapast Quality bitch nice for size with feminine head, good ear carriage and medium eye. She has a shapely body with good tail carriage, she has good front and rear angulation with nice tidy movement a lot to like.

2nd Miss W Heller Limoncello Cecilia Beaux Unlucky to meet one, a different type and not quite the body and substance of one however she is in proportion and has a feminine head with a dark eye, clear markings she has adequate angulation and is in excellent condition, hard and muscular moved and handled well

1st Mr D Greenslade Utterbygreen Mint Chocolat A bitch i have judged before as a puppy who i gave a RCC to i could have taken her home as a puppy and nothing has changed. Her handler isn't the best of handlers and doesn't always get the best out of her but look past the handling and you have a good honest bitch, she is an ideal size and has a curvaceous body leading into a good tailset, she is pretty and feminine with an appealing head and quizzical expression, she has high set ears and extremely dark gleaming eye. She has good angulation front and rear and moves out well. Pleased to award her the CC & BOS RBIS

2nd Church, Saxton & Dale Rattustrap Fade to Black (AI) Unlucky to meet one and a different type, slightly longer in body which makes her look flatter in back but overall she is a nice size, she has a feminine head but her eye is slightly round medium in colour. She has good angulation and moved out well. the noise in the room seemed to unsettle her.

What a class all worthy champions and of nice size, some difficult decisions to be made these bitches are the future of this lovely breed.

1st Miss B Cawley CH Marlablue In A Twirl ShCM Pretty and feminine of ideal size, lovely head with good ear set and nice dark eye. Curvaceous body leading into good tailset she has good angulation front and rear and appears to glide around the ring. She is in good muscular condition. Shown and Expertly handled Pushed hard for the CC RCC

2nd Mr & Mrs M & K Walshaw CH Janmark Back T’black Unlucky to meet one and similar attributes as one. She has a pretty feminine head and medium eye, lovely ear set, she has a nice shape to her body and is nicely marked. Covers the ground well coming and going expertly handled.

1st Dunford & Akcrigg CH/Nel CH Paucelin Armana by Quixol If my memory serves me correctly i gave this bitch the CC last time i judged and has worn well. She is a pretty feminine bitch of nice size, she has a good head, dark eye and neat ear set. She has a nice body shape and good angulation front and rear and is in excellent condition. Movement good BVIS

2nd Mrs B O’Neill Ticknell Hidden Treasure at Megellan Bigger than one but overall well balanced and sound. She has a good head and dark eye and nice shapely body, she has good angulation and good tail carriage, she has clear markings and is in excellent condition . Moved well

SPECIAL VETERAN DOGOR BITCH (10 YEARS PLUS)

1st Dunford, Akrigg & Walton CH/Nel CH Quixol Alexander All Male with a cracking masculine head, ears and dark eye, he has good proportions and balance and his thumbprints are still visible. He is a nice shape with good angulation front and rear and still in good hard condition

2nd Miss B Cawley Victor James Montague Unlucky to meet one and a different type, more old school but he is of nice size and has good markings, he is a nice shape but would like a little more neck, he has good angulation, moved and handled well.
