I would like to thank the committee of Southern Counties Championship Show for the kind invitation to judge

at their show. Such a well laid out showground, with large in/out rings and benching close by. A huge thank you to the

exhibitors for their patience as we were 3rd in the ring, it was a great honour to have the pleasure of your dogs.

1ST TESSMENE SUMMER SOLSTICE (MR K & MISS A MASSON & GLOVER)

Strapping 10 month old Liver dog, well grown but all in proportion with a shapely and clean outline with plenty of bone and substance. Well proportioned head, with a good strength to the foreface, eye still needing to darken a shade, having a kind expression. His body has great maturity with super depth to the brisket and well sprung ribs. Holding a firm topline both stood and on the move. Hindquarters have a moderate bend to the stifle. Showing a good stride in profile movement, just needing to tighten at little more. Coat showing a good curl - BP

1ST FLEETPAW ONE FOR ARTHUR (MRS H DRISCOLL)

Much to admire about this 13 months old liver dog, a little more compact, liking his overall shape and size. Masculine all through with lovely strength. Pleasing head with good planes and balanced backskull to foreface, eye starting to darken. He has a strong neck of good length, well developed forechest and deep in the brisket, ribs being well sprung and carried well back. Having well boned limbs and nice tight feet. Would like a fraction more rear angulation. A happy and free mover in profile, a tab close behind, clean and true in front. Shown with a good curl to the coat and well muscled - RBOB

1ST CURLABULL DARK MOON RISING AT WIGHTCURLS (MR P & MS B MILLER & MILLICHAMP)

Liked this happy and outgoing 2 year old black dog. He is an upstanding dog, with a clean and balanced outline. He has the desired strength with a hint of elegance. Well proportioned masculine head, showing good proportions with a lovely dark eye. Clean neck of good length, brisket reaching to the elbow, enough forechest, falling away a little at the croup and moderate hindquarters. On the move has a smooth and driving side gait, a little close behind, just loosing out on top awards as not as clean in front today. Shown in good coat and condition.

1ST GLADRAGS AIN'T MISBEHAVIN TAF (MR H R & MRS G, MR W C PHILLIPS & HARRIS)

Super upstanding 20 month old black dog, top quality with lovely body lines. He has a shapely and clean outline yet workmanlike with good strength. Looked a picture on the stack with harmonious proportions. He has a masculine head with the desired wedge shape and parallel planes, lovely dark oval eye giving a kind and gentle expression. His strong neck flowing beautifully into a firm and well held topline. Well developed through the ribcage and forechest. He has such strength in the hindquarters, a lovely width of thigh and short strong hocks. A joy to watch on the move, showing good width and true movement from the rear, driving action in profile. Shown in with a good jacket of tight crisp curls – BD & BOB, shame unable to stay for the group

1ST TYNESIDES MY HEART WILL GO ON TO STORMACRE NAF (MISSES C & L A MERCER & THOMAS)

Oh my what a little poppet, at just 6 months old and at her first show, this black bitch was showing like an old pro. She is just right for size and balance with a happy and unfazed attitude to this whole showing lark. She has good overall body proportions and a shapely outline. Feminine head, kind dark eye. Clean through the neck and shoulders, holding a firm level topline. Enough depth and ribbing for her age, well boned limbs, nicely angulated hindquarters. A little lose in her movement at present, but really striding out in profile. Good tight curl to the coat. Just losing out for maturity today.

1ST KAHAWEI TEAL (MISS T JAMES)

Just fell for this ‘full of character’ black bitch, at 13 months she shows lovely maturity and oozes quality. She has such a pleasing outline on the stack, having strength and femininity, shape with functionality. She has a balanced head, which is well proportioned, wedged shaped with a lovely dark eye, giving a gentle yet hint of mischief expression. A strong and clean neck flowing into well placed shoulders, holding a firm level topline. Well developed through the body and standing on well boned limbs. Pleasing hindquarters, with a good width of thigh and nice bend of stifle. Moved out with purpose and drive, with the odd bounce thrown in for good measure! Shown with a good jacket of crisp curls – BB & BOS

1ST LIZALLWOOD HELLO AGAIN (MR A & MRS E M JONES)

2 year old black bitch looking on great form, she is full of breed type, with good substance yet has elegance. When stood she has a pleasing outline with lovely body lines. Liked her head, feminine and well proportioned, with a lovely dark eye. Strong clean neck flowing into a firmly held topline, with a well set on and carried tail. Her body has good depth to the brisket and well developed forechest, a fraction longer in loin than the BB. Liked her hindquarters as they are muscular with a nice sweep of stifle. Good crisp curl to the coat. Her more precise movement winning her RBB

2ND GLADRAGS CREAM IN MY COFFEE TAF (MR H R & MRS G, MR W C PHILLIPS & HARRIS)

Of a different stamp to winner, but with many fine qualities and much to like. This liver bitch is 20 months old, and is of a sturdier build, she has great strength and substance yet still very feminine. She has a super outline when stood, loved her balance and construction. Feminine head, with a pleasing eye that tones well with her coat. Strong clean neck flowing into a firm well held topline, she has a super spring of rib and depth all through. She is strong in the quarters and in good muscle tone. Such a shame she did not seem settled in her movement today

1ST SH CH KELSMERE KAMANA FOR FOXRIEVER SHCM (MR A M & MRS D J WHITEHEAD)

Lovely black bitch coming up 5 years of age, and can see why she has her title. She has a lovely elegant and shapely outline, workmanlike with good bone and substance. She has harmonious proportions showing balance and being unexaggerated. Very feminine head, with a dark intelligent eye. Lovely flow through her neck and topline with a firm level back. She has a super spring of rib and deep in the brisket. She has an excellent side gait, close up to main winners, but today not as clean behind. Shown with a good crisp curl to her coat.
