WORKING & PASTORAL BREEDS OF WALES

SATURDAY 20TH APRIL 2019

IT WAS A GREAT PLEASURE TO JUDGE BEST IN SHOW, BEST PUPPY IN SHOW AND BEST VETERAN IN SHOW AT THE WORKING & PASTORAL BREEDS OF WALES CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW.

I WAS PRIVILEGED TO HAVE TOP QUALITY DOGS IN ALL 3 FINALS, SENT FORWARD BY THE WELL RESPECTED EXPERIENCED GROUP JUDGES SIGURD WILBERG AND LEANA LEWIS.

BEST IN SHOW WAS A DIFFICULT CHOICE BETWEEN THE PASTORAL GROUP WINNER, Freer & Smith’s CH NIKARA DIAMOND DANCER JW THE STRIKING SAMOYED, WHO AT 9 YEARS OF AGE IS IN COMMENDABLE COAT AND BODY CONDITION, AND THE WINNER OF THE WORKING GROUP, Ellis’ CHAYO CAUSE CELEBRE AN IMPOSING  POWERFUL LOOKING  ALASKAN MALAMUTE.

BOTH WERE EXCELLENT EXAMPLES OF THEIR RESPECTIVE BREEDS AND BOTH WERE IN COMMENDABLE CONDITION AND PRESENTED AND HANDLED TO ADVANTAGE.

AFTER GOING OVER AND MOVING BOTH, MY DECISION TO AWARD BEST IN SHOW WENT TO CHAYO CAUSE CELEBRE, THE ALASKAN MALAMUTE, WHO AT 18 MONTHS OF AGE JUST EDGED IT ON HIS YOUTHFUL LOOKS AND IMPRESSIVE SIDE GAIT.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW WAS BETWEEN TWO QUALITY YOUNGSTERS, FROM THE PASTORAL GROUP BEST PUPPY WAS THE BRIARD Snellings’ BEAUGENCY BOUZY ROOTS WHO AT 9 MONTHS OF AGE HAS ALL THE BREED QUALITY AND FOUNDATION TO DEVELOP INTO A VERY EXCITING ADULT, AND FROM THE WORKING GROUP BEST PUPPY WAS THE BOXER Jones & Charles’ CHARLONS ASTUTE A 10 MONTH OLD BITCH WHO HAS AN ATTRACTIVE HEAD AND OVERALL BODY SHAPE.

BOTH PUPPIES WERE PLEASING TO GO OVER AND GAVE GOOD ACCOUNT OF THEMSELVES ON THE MOVE.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW WENT TO BEAUGENCY BOUZY ROOTS, THE BRIARD WHO FOR ME EXCELLED IN BREED TYPE AND CONFORMATION AND IS SATISFYING IN DEVELOPMENT OF BONE AND BODY AND EVEN AT HIS YOUNG AGE HAS PLEASING MUSCLE DEFINITION AND IS A SOUND MOVER.

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW WAS THE CLIMAX OF THE DAY AND I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE TWO TOP QUALITY, ESTABLISHED CHAMPIONS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE BREEDS COMPETING BEFORE ME.

FROM THE PASTORAL GROUP BEST VETERAN WAS Freer & Smith’s CH NIKARA DIAMOND DANCER JW THE STRIKING SAMOYED WHOM I ALREADY HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO JUDGE IN THE BIS COMPETITION, AND FROM THE WORKING GROUP THE BEST VETERAN Ingram’s DOBERMANN CH TRONJHEIM BELLADONNA FROM JOJAVIK JW ShCM. AN ELEGANT FIRM BODIED 9 YEAR OLD BITCH WHO IS STRIKING IN APPEARANCE AND IS IN COMMENDABLE CONDITION.

I WAS DELIGHTED TO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO OVER BOTH THESE TOP DOGS AND AFTER MOVING BOTH AGAIN IT WAS THE SAMOYED Freer & Smith’s CH NIKARA DIAMOND DANCER JW WHO CONTINUED TO GIVE OF HIS BEST AND WAS AWARDED BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
