Bournemouth Canine Association.

Sunday 11th August 2019. Weimaraner.

Thank-you to all the exhibitors who made the journey to Bournemouth for my Weimaraner judging. Very pleased with all my winners. Many thanks to Bournemouth committee for their invitation and superb hospitality and my thanks to my two stewards. The new in and out rings were a great innovation.

MPD (1) 1. Bennett and Slimak’s Ansona Single Malt. Very promising baby with good head ratio muzzle to skull. Slightly pronounced occipit and fine ear leathers. Well-developed chest into firm loin. Well angulated rear and well let down stifle. Moved OK once he got into his stride.

PD (5) 1. Rayner and Maskell’s Kalimor Accolade to Raystans, What a good litter with these three litter brothers who could all change places another day. My winner was well grown and muscled for his age with a clean neck into muscular front. Good depth of chest to elbow and well filed loin. Excellent hind angulation and well-turned stifle with good tight feet. Moved with a good stride. BPD.

2.Weir and Bishop’s Kalimor Boy Scout. My notes say “similar to my winner” and he had a good head with nice fold to the ear, clean neck and correct depth of chest. Body was well-muscled and had plenty of bone. Movement was not quite as collected as my first but it should improve with age. 3. Morris and Randall’s Kalimor Parker.

JD (1) 1. Morris and Randall’s Kalimor Parker well grown young dog with a head and body to match his size. Typical head and expression with deep muzzle, balanced stop into good skull. Well filled chest of correct depth to elbow and good straight legs and tight feet. Movement still loose but to be expected at his age.

ND (1) 1. Kalimor Boy Scout. 2. Hawkins’s Smilek Fernando. Good pale grey colour. Moderate head and skull. Good straight legs and feet, well-muscled body and balanced on the move with good topline. Not doing his handler any favours today.

GD (3,1) 1. Burgess’s Greyspirit Rock Star from Hantzburg JW. Liked his head and expression with good balance of muzzle to skull. Good reach of neck into correct shoulders and straight fore legs. Good angles in the rear. Presented a good outline standing but needs to stop playing his handler up and relax into his movement to show off his good qualities. 2. Morris & Randall’s Kalimor Parker

LD (3) 1. Beagrie’s Gunalt Audio from Feldhund JW correct sized two-year-old dog just coming into his own. Head and muzzle were balanced with his body to present a good outline when standing with a well filled ribcage. Neck flowed into his shoulder and good straight front legs and feet. Strong and well-muscled into well angulated rear. Moved with drive and was correct coming and going. Res DCC 2. Mutlow’s Braefell Goshawk JW. Excellent pale colour and in good coat. Preferred the masculine head of my winner. Good front and well-let down chest and width of brisket. Body balanced with good rear angulation and bend of stifle. His movement was true with well held topline. 3. Phillips’s Rivertone Rudolf.

OD (5,3) 1. Rayner and Maskell’s Sh Ch Gunalt Academy of Raystans JW Sh CM. Mature dog at the top of his form today. Filled my eye from the moment he entered the ring. Lovely pale colour and coat. Head and skull of masculine type without any coarseness, nice ear leathers and fold. Well-muscled throughout. Clean neck and good shoulder into straight front. Ribbed well back with good spring of rib. Back line and loin well filled with good rear angulation. Moved with great stride and drive, flowed around the ring. Gave him best puppy when I judged him last and was pleased to award him CC and BOB, now he is the finished article.

2. Byrne’s Enryb Singles Party JW. Presented a good outline standing. Well-muscled and mature in body with all the correct angles. Another good mover with drive, powering around the ring. Just preferred the head shape of my winner.

VD (3,1) 1. Carson & Dunne’s Khamsynn Carry on Cruising to Moorpoint JW ShCM. Really balanced with good coat and colour on this eight-year-old. Kind head and expression with good neck into correct front. Good outline standing with good muscle and well angulated rear. Moved very collectedly and kept his topline well. 2. Burgess’s Gunalt Rock Out with Hantzburg Sh CM. Lots to like on this bigger cast dog. Masculine and well balanced for his length of leg. Well off for bone with deep muzzle, good stop and correct skull. Neck of good length and very muscular front and deep chest. Rear in keeping with strong loin and back line. Covered the ground well on the move.

MPB (2) Two promising puppies in this class.1.Slack’s Silberliss Solitare just six months, good sliver grey colour and good outline. Liked head and expression. Balanced neck into shoulder and correct depth of chest to elbow. Moved very collectedly driving from good rear end. 2. Phillips’s Rivertone Head Above Water, another one to watch as she matures out. All correct just not as together in her movement as can be expected at her age.

PB (3) 1. Hostler’s Kalimor Daisy from the same litter as my puppy dog winners. Well grown and balanced height to body length. Liked her head and expression. Neck flowed into well laid shoulders and correct depth of chest, well ribbed back. Hind angulation was good and she moved round the ring on a good long stride. Feet were tight and hocks well let down. See she is a daughter of my dog CC winner who has put his stamp on this litter. BP and shortlisted in a strong puppy group judged by Richard Morris. 2. Reilly & Maskell’s Smilek I Have A Dream. Feminine bitch with good pale coat and colour. Kind head and expression. Well laid shoulder and straight front end. Firm topline held on the move. Just needs to mature out. 3. Silberliss Solitare

Good outline standing. Finer in bone and feminine head. Straight front end and enough chest depth with well angulated rear. Feet tight. Would like more animation on the move but she was determined to hold her head down which spoiled her shape.

GB (4,1) 1.Slack’s Siberliss Summer of Love. Won this class on her movement and balance. Pleasing head and expression with correct set of ear, which had a nice fold. Rear well-muscled. 3 Joneva Cocktails And Dreams At Wystry

PGB (4) 1.Turner’s Minstergate Call For Rockeyan JW. What a lovely type, pale colour, good bone and well-muscled, an excellent bitch, frame pleasing throughout. My only comment would be that I would like a little more sculpting in the head. Good balanced neck into well laid shoulder, chest well let down and firm loin and back line. Movement straight and true coming and going which won her the Res BCC. 2. Copper’s Deifstock Dazzling Star JW. A slightly bigger made bitch with good deep muzzle to skull. Clean neck into well-muscled front. Good depth of chest, straight front and correct rear. Topline not quite a well held on the move as my winner. 3. Upton-Lovett & Upton’s Gunalt Lustrous With Roydack.

LB (1) 1. Howard’s Akwamar Bette Davis. Good pale colour, correct size. Head and skull feminine with good sweep of neck into correct shoulders and chest. Well angulated rear. Could put more animation into her movement but insisted on keeping her head down.
