Hound Association Of Scotland

Breed: Basset Hound

Puppy Dog (1)

1st Melbourne & Murray’s Diheath Jamaica. 8 months old and matured well so far. Nice head with length of neck, good lay of shoulder. Good firm topine and well bodied. Would prefer a touch more length of upper arm and second thigh with less length to the rear pastern. Moved well in side gait. Still needs muscle tone to tighten his movement but should have a promising future. RDCC & BP

Junior Dog (2)

1st McIntosh’s Kelansue Dark Destroyer. Well angulated boy but a little on the heavy side for me. Nice head, good length and depth of ribbing. Looked well on the move.

2nd Johnston’s Burnvale Zephyr. Smaller type than 1. Good head and reach of neck. Balanced for and rear quarters but I would prefer more length to upper arm and second thigh.

Yearling Dog (3)

1st Melbourne, Hirst & Walker’s Diheath Really Cosmic At Kejana. Neat male of 13 months. Good reach of neck and firm topline. Well made and balanced fore and rear quarters which he used well on the move. A little broad in frontal bone for my liking.

2nd McIntosh’s Kelansue Dark Destroyer

3rd Johnston’s Badina Grand Master of Burnvale

Post Graduate Dog (3)

1st Pearson’s Armardio Angel of Harlem By Malrich. Neat male of smaller type. A little course in head for me. Well compact dog, good length of ribbing. Balanced fore and rear angulation. Moved well.

2nd Melbourne & Murray’s Diheath Baldrick. Preferred his head to 1. Good reach of neck and firm topline. Not the rear angulation of 1 but moved out well.

3rd McBeth’s Prince Albert Of Viennai

Limit Dog (3)

1st Melbourne & Murray’s Diheath Wreckless Eric. Good reach of neck and lay of shoulder. Good firm topline. Well angulated rear which he used well on the move. Would prefer better ribbing.

2nd Feetham’s Quantas-Napoca Conjurer (Imp Rom). Lovely outline on the stack and the move. Nice head and reach of neck, good firm topline. Well angulated fore and rear quarters. Moved out well. Lacking depth for me personally.

3rd McCord’s Kelansue Rubeus Bomber

Veteran Dog (1)

1st Ellrich’s Ch Malrich Sir Ruff Diamond. 9 year old male who still gives the youngsters a run for their money. Good head and reach of neck, solid topline, good ribbing and well-muscled throughout. Good angulation in the fore and rear quarters. Moved with reach and drive. CC & BV

Special Beginners Dog (1)

1st McCord’s Kelansue Rubeus Bomber. Adequate length of neck and depth of ribbing. Kept a good outline on the stack. Well angulated rear quarters which he could’ve used better on the move.

Puppy Bitch (5)

Strong class, looks good for the future

1st McBeth’s Azakarm Queen Victoria Of Viennai. Lovely neat bitch of good size. Only 8 months old but lovely head and reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Good length and depth of ribbing. Well angulated rear quarters. Very balanced bitch who moved out well when she gained her confidence.

2nd Melbourne & Murray’s Diheath Cuba. Bigger bitch to 1 but a lot to like about her. Good reach of neck and firm topline. Well angulated rear quarters and used them well on the move. Not as clean in front to 1.

3rd Pearson’s Armardio I’m On Fire.

Junior Bitch (1)

1st Leishman’s Malrich All Girl Action. Good head and reach of neck. Good firm topline with good length and depth of ribbing. Would prefer more angulation in the rear to give more drive on the move.

Yearling Bitch (1)

Ellrich’s Malrich Paris Carver. Lovely head and reach of neck flowing into adequate lay of shoulder and good return of upper arm. Good firm topline and depth of ribbing. Well angulated rear quarters. In lovely muscle condition. Such a beautiful free-flowing mover which won her the top award on the day. CC & BOB

Post Graduate Bitch (1)

1st Leishman’s Malrich Gin ‘n’ Juice. Nice head and good reach of neck. Shoulders a little forward and would prefer more length of upper arm. Good topline and depth of ribbing. Well made rear quarters which she used well on the move.

Open Bitch (2)

1st Pearson’s Ch Roamanbay Rusiia With Love To Armardio JW. Cobbier bitch but well angulated and balanced in fore and rear quarters. Good head, good firm topline. Moved with good reach and drive.

2nd Melbourne & Hudson’s Diheath Bob. Very different type to 1. Taller bitch with a touch more reach and drive. Leans into her front too much on the stack which detracts from the outline. Strong in head for a bitch. Elegant reach of neck and a little taller in type.

Veteran Bitch (2)

1st Storton & Melbourne’s Diheath Conchita. Would prefer more angulation and length of bone in the fore quarters. Very narrow in front. Good topline and ribbing. Well angulated rear quarters which she used well.

2nd Miller’s Brecon’s Tia. Nice neat type. Nice head and neck. Banced fore and rear quarters with good topline on the stack and move. Just lacked in reach and drive compared to 1.

Special Beginner’s Bitch (1)

1st Freudenreich’s Malrich Puss N Boots. Good reach of neck and adequate lay of shoulder. Good topline. Well angulated rear which she used well on the move. Handled to her advantage. B SP Beg.
