Terrier Group

Many thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation and opportunity to judge the group and for their kindness and hospitality at the show.

My short list consisted of the Bedlington, Border, Dandie Dinmont , Norfolk, Parson, SCWT, WHWT and the Skye from the AVNSC

My final four were

GROUP 1 VERUMAMICUS AURORA OF BRAKEMILL JW Breed: Skye Terrier (MRS J CURTIS)

This quality bitch has developed well and was presented in first class order, super coat texture and condition. Well set and used ears, strong jaw and good dentition, good body and rib, well set and carried tail. She was true out and back and retained her topline on the move giving a lovely picture in profile. All in all a quality girl.

GROUP 2 CH WATERCROFT GOLD DUST Breed: Norfolk Terrier (MRS R GEE)

This little Norfolk appealed greatly for size, not overdone but balanced throughout, quality head and eye, good width in front, straight legs and good feet, she too moved out well coming and going and gave a good account of herself in profile.

GROUP 3 CH/AM GR CH PENNYWISE ON THE ROAD AGAIN Breed: Dandie Dinmont Terrier (MRS B & MRS J DEACON & HILL)

This Dandie is no stranger to me having awarded him a CC & BOB at Windsor and I still admire his many qualities. He was as usual put down in first class order, a lovely headed dog, true in front with a well-developed firm body, he strode out with purpose and style.

GROUP 4 YORKPIECE FIERY LUCIFER (IMP CZE) Breed: Border Terrier (MRS J L LEE)

This Border is certainly from the top drawer, for one so young he gave a first class performance, so true to breed type, excellent coat texture, good legs and feet, well set and carried tail ,he completed a quartet of sound free moving animals. I am sure we will hear more of him in the future.
