Many thanks for a wonderful entry which I enjoyed judging very much. The ring was spacious and with the help of my two excellent stewards, I was able to finish in good time enabling the different winners to compete in the main ring at the end of the day. I was spoilt for choice in many classes and take my hat off in admiration to UK breeders for continuing to produce such top-class Labradors. Heads and expressions were in several classes a deciding factor as were tails

Class 2395 VD (6 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 6359 CAIN Mrs H Sh Ch Southridge Sky Rocket To Hannabee , 7 ys old black looking really well, excellent type, very good body properties carrying the correct amount of weight, excellent neck and shoulders, very good back-end and tail-set, in good coat striding out really well, attentive showman. Best veteran 2nd: 6464 LITHERLAND Mrs M Oakhouse Orlando Bloom , strongly made yellow dog who came into his own on the move covering the ground with ease, masculine head, good spring of ribs, sound hindquarters, ok coat, close up to the winner here 3rd: 6523 SEWELL Mrs D Braithwell Dick Darstardly Racinto Breakerswell

Class 2396 MPD (7 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 6472 MCGILLIVRAY Mrs L Antonine Dream Lover (ai) strongly made 6 months old baby puppy full of his own importance, excellent head for age, sound legs, well-developed body, good rear, lively mover enjoying his day out 2nd: 6469 MARSKELL, Mrs S & MARKSKELL Mr B Berolee Tom Ford , chocolate, also 6 months old and had great appeal, pleasing head and eye, very short coupled body, sound legs and feet, good coat and colour, moves well, tail could have been set a little higher 3rd: 6382 DAWSON, Mr & Mrs R I & DAWSON Miss M Beskerby Pageant

Class 2397 PD (6 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 6432 HOPKINSON Mrs D M Rocheby Old Timer , lovely yellow puppy, soundly made throughout with good front, body and rear, excellent bone, kind eye and expression, excellent overall outline and proportions, easy fluid mover who should have a good future, Best dog puppy 2nd: 6548 YOUNG Mrs E Potterspiney Silas, another yellow puppy, really lovely head, eye and expression, very good body and coat, level topline and good tail, moved well, preferred the better neck and shoulders of the winner here 3rd: Mrs A M & Andrews Mr B Creamwood Tea for Two

Class 2398 JD (7 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 6434 HOPKINSON Mrs D M Rocheby Stockman, masculine upstanding dog, good neck and shoulders, pleasing head, perfect topline, very good bone, still needs to fill out his frame but has all the essentials, showed well 2nd: 6424 HODGE, Mr & Mrs A R V & HODGE Miss R Naiken Elite Envoy (ai), very sound good moving dog with excellent body and coat, good neck and shoulders, head still needs to develop, expertly presented 3rd: 6369 CHAPMAN Mrs H M & Mr D Daisypatch Jelly Tot

Class 2399 YD (11 Entries) Abs: 3 One of the best classes of the day with much food for thought, ultimately headed by 1st: 6391 DOUGLAS, Mr A & Mrs L & DOUGLAS Miss T Talard Cee Three Pee Ohh , ultra-sound dark yellow standing foursquare showing really well, lovely head and expression, beautiful neck and shoulders, very short coupled, good muscular hindquarters, well-set tail carried perfectly, in excellent coat and condition, pressed hard in the challenge 2nd: 6477 METCALFE Mr A & Mrs J Carromer Jack Flash To Baileydale , another very impressive yellow who pressed hard here, lovely head and eye, good front, strong legs, deep body with excellent spring of rib, harsh coat in good order, showed really well, a difficult decision between two top-notch dogs 3rd: 6505 RAWLINSON, Mrs J, Mr M & J & BALSHAW Messrs D & P Halshimoor Debonair At Shanorrell

Class 2400 GD (13 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 6416 HASLAM Ms L Manorwell Buckskin At Lynquest JW, very typical with lots to like, excellent head, front, good coat, sound behind, deep body, would have liked him a little shorter coupled, excellent mover 2nd: 6406 GRUMMITT Mrs E Suttonpark Phoenix At Manorwell , another very good dog that I liked, shorter-coupled than the winner, lovely head and expression, big ribs, tail could have been thicker and not the hindquarters of the winner here, but nonetheless a quality dog who moved and showed well 3rd: 6465 LITHERLAND Mrs M Oakhouse Oscar Pistorius

  Class 2401 PGD (7 Entries) Abs: 1 Excellent class of quality dogs 1st: 6506 RAWLINSON, Mrs J, Mr M & J & BALSHAW Messrs D & P Halshimoor Pitch Battle At Shanorrell , top-class masculine yellow who impressed me greatly, typical head and eye, outstanding neck and shoulders, level topline, perfect croup and tail, well-made quarters used to full advantage on the move, expertly handled and in perfect coat and condition. Res CC – a lovely dog! 2nd: 6536 WALTON Mrs S M B Gallybob Marmalade, very short-coupled masculine yellow of lovely type, good head and eye, excellent legs and feet, sound front, deep body, well-set tail, showed well and I liked him – just unlucky to meet the winner here 3rd: 6398 ELLIS, Mr & Mrs A & S W & MATULLA Mr & Mrs D Dolwen Button Moon JW

Class 2402 LD (16 Entries) Abs: 3 1st: 6405 GASKELL Mr B Sharouns Ventriloquist For Tempaskell JW, strongly made yellow showing his socks off, masculine head, short-coupled deep body, strong legs, tight feet, propelled himself round the ring with great determination, another lovely dog who made his presence felt in the challenge 2nd: 6439 JOHNSON Mrs J & Mr G Cremino Chilly Pepper Sh.CM , well-constructed yellow built on clean lines, very good neck and shoulders, excellent body and rear, good coat, carrying the correct amount of substance, moved well, muzzle could have been stronger, showed well 3rd: 6484 MILLS Mr C J & Mrs C E Lembas Sweeney Tod JW

Class 2403 OD (16 Entries) Abs: 4 What a class and what a pleasure to judge – many thanks for the honour! 1st: 6346 BRADDON Mr D L & Mrs F E M Sh Ch Trendlewood Born To Run JW, outstanding masculine yellow dog of perfect Labrador proportions presented in full bloom, really lovely head and expression, excellent legs and feet, well-made forequarters, deep short-coupled body with well sprung ribs, level topline, sound quarters, fluid mover – put on a flawless performance in the breed and in the group ring. A pleasure to award CC & BOB. 2nd: 6456 LAMBERT Ms S Ch Mattand Exodus JW beautifully constructed yellow dog built on clean lines, outstanding neck and shoulders, very good body, coat and tail, excellent quarters and he moved faultlessly responding well to handler. Must have a bright future – loved her! Class 2407 PB (21 Entries) Abs: 4 Excellent class but also with great variation 1st: 6478 METCALFE Mr A & Mrs J Baileydale Mrs Tiggywinkle, well-made sound yellow of correct type, excellent head and expression, sound front, good legs and tight feet, deep well-developed body, in excellent coat and condition, showed really well, falls away a little behind but her many outstanding qualities made her a worthy winner here 2nd: 6363 CANDEL Mr P M Wahnahnish Vision Of Love , most attractive yellow puppy, showing really well, good front, level topline, good coat and tail, sound behind, not the eye and expression of the winner which was a deciding factor here, not nonetheless a very promising puppy who appealed greatly 3rd: 6454 LALLY Mrs P Chyanhal Trezelah

Class 2408 JB (18 Entries) Abs: 6 1st: 6337 BAILISS Mrs C Tissalian Hi Society, top-class yellow bitch of lovely type, most attractive head and expression, very good front, legs and feet, short-coupled deep body, level topline, well-made quarters, in good coat of correct texture, sensible show-girl, moved well. Class 2412 LB (20 Entries) Abs: 3 Very impressive class full of quality 1st: 6375 CHARLTON Mrs J Classical Act at Foxrush JW, feminine bitch combining quality, type and substance with outstanding conformation, lovely head with kind expression, perfect neck and shoulders with exemplary length of upper-arm, good bone, tight feet, short-coupled deep body with excellent spring of rib, good double coat in pristine condition and what a tail! Moved as one would expect from her construction and landed the bitch CC in very strong competition.
