Australian Cattle Dog

Judge: Ms C Paine (Australia)

Although a small entry, it was a pleasure to judge this lovely breed and I thank the exhibitors for showing.

Class 1191 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3289 JEBSON Miss K Ch Austmans Finn Mcmissile –8 year old dog in excellent condition. Strong wedge shaped skull and jaw with a glint in his eye, muscular body, correct angulation and hard coat. Stronger pasterns and more level topline would present a cleaner outline, but nonetheless a lovely example of the breed with strong movement. Best Dog, BEST OF BREED, Best Veteran.

Class 1193 JD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3293 JEBSON, Miss K & ROBERTS Miss R Austmans Steamboat Willie – young, well muscled dog of correct proportions with moderate angulation. Strong skull and glint in his eye. Should develop more bone and substance with age. Best Junior

Class 1195 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3283 BAILEY Mr T A & Mrs I M Bryndingo Bendigeidfran – impressive ground covering movement. Strong wedge shaped head with good underjaw. Well angulated, firm topline. Would be more compact with a slightly shorter loin. Res Best Dog.

2nd: 3287 DIGBY Mrs N Multi Ch Banana Bender Smoky Mountain (Imp) – Excellent bone and angulation, although slightly heavy in body. Typical head and expression. Movement a little on the lazy side but clean and sound.

3rd: 3294 WRIGHT, L, CARTWRIGHT, D & SMYTH S L'Incanto Di Monte Tonico (Imp)

Class 1200 PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3284 COBOURN Mrs M Winddrover Faithful Soul (Imp Deu) – very exuberant! Good head, angulation, proportions and balance. Coat still needs to harden and her feet to strengthen. Moved soundly once settled, but the outline spoilt by her tail. Res Best Bitch.

Class 1201 OB (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 3291 JEBSON Miss K Ch Austmans Aurora Australis – feminine with correct bone and balanced angulation. Excellent head with strong jaws and a glint in her eye. Moved soundly with a firm topline and correct tail carriage. Would prefer a little more depth of body. Best Bitch.

2nd: 3285 COBOURN Mr R Austmans Winddrover Legacy – rather solid and heavy with adequate angulation. Broad skull, correct ears. Moved soundly but lacked powerful ground covering movement.
