East Of England Agricultural Society

Breed: Borzoi

Thank you to the committee for the invite to judge borzoi at their show – the committee did an excellent job of looking after me for the day and they should be congratulated on a lovely atmosphere at the show. Thank you also to my stewards for looking after me throughout. And, last but not least, thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege to go over their hounds.

Puppy Dog (3,2)

1 – Ridge-Reeves’ Sukeshi Nuryev – Nice puppy who was sadly a little nervous today to go over but he moved out well. Very raw but nice head with dark eye and correctly set ears. Graceful tail carriage on the move.

Limit Dog (2,0)

1 – Graham’s Dashava Calgary – Long lean head, well filled in. Veining visible and good dark eye with correct set ears. In fabulous condition, beautiful silky coat. Muscular throughout but not over loaded in anyway. Well proportioned and angulated, great depth of chest, graceful and not overdone topline which he maintained on the moved, moved out well and covered the ground with ease (RBD)

2- Ridge-Reeves’ Sukeshi Master Jaba – Nice head, well filled in and veining visible. Dark eye and correct set ears. Good depth of chest, well tucked up, in good condition throughout. Coat in good condition, moved out well. Preferred the outline of 1.

Open Dog (2,0)

Two beautiful dogs who could change places on any other day.

1 – Pinkerton & Cattoni-Saraman’s Ch Korsakov Radost Power of Love Menigma ShCM ShCEx (IMP USA) well sized dog with plenty of ring presence. Balanced head, with dark eye, strong jaw, correctly set ears and visible veining. Good depth of chest, well laid back shoulders, graceful topline, correct set tail which was carried low on the move. Moved out with ease and covered the ground, so balanced on the move and with effortless power. (BD & BOS)

2 – Dawson’s Ch Tschernigow Kalinow at Stubbylee JW ShCM (IMP DEU) – Heavier set dog than one with plenty of bone throughout, but not overdone. Strong head but balanced head with correct set ears and dark eye. Great depth of chest, shoulders sloping well back. Graceful topline and correct set tail. In fabulous coat and condition. Moved with ease and covered the ground well, just out moved by 1 today.

Puppy Bitch (4,2)

1 – Marchant’s Ash Wednesday Scarlet at Starborough (IMP ITA) – Pretty young bitch who is well balanced for one so young. Still raw with plenty of growing left to do though. Feminine head, well balanced, good jaw, dark eye, correct set ears. Nice topline, depth of chest and good front and rear construction. Moved gracefully and with ease, she is one to watch (RBB)

2 – Rogerson’s Donskoi Baristinya – Another very raw puppy with plenty of promise, nice balanced head with dark eye and correct set ears. Good depth of chest, front and rear angulation. Moved out well and covered the ground.

Junior Bitch (2,0)

1 – Warren’s Charnealis Polina at Vonsarna – promising young bitch who is well balanced throughout. Pretty head with good dark eye and correct set ears. Good topline which she maintained on the move. Good depth of chest, well angulated front and rear. Moved out well.

2 – Warren’s Tatiana at Vonsarna - Nice young hound who is constructed well. Nice balanced head, in good condition, well-muscled without being overloaded. Her tail carriage today just spoiled her over all outline which is a shame as she moved out well.

Open Bitch (1,0)

1 – Dawson’s Ch Stubbylee Prima Donna JW ShCM – I judged this hound when she was a youngster and I am really impressed with how she has grown up. She had such presence and grace that she oozed quality. Beautifully balanced feminine head well filled in, veining visible, correctly set delicate ears. Long, deep and powerful jaw with correct bite. Slightly arched neck leading in to clean and well sloped back shoulders. Great depth of chest, strong fore and hind quarters with excellent feet and springy pasterns. Graceful curving topline with balanced fall away, correctly set tail carried low on the move. She moved out so soundly and gracefully that I could not deny her BB and BOB, she is a credit to her breeders.
