Hound Association Of Scotland

Hound Association of Scotland Ltd Show

8th July 2018

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely, well-run show in the most beautiful of settings. The weather was most definitely on our side.

Junior D/B (4,1a) 1. Binks’ Dialynne Popcorn. 11mth bitch with pretty, feminine head, dark eye and lovely expression. Good length of muzzle and low set ears. Well muscled with excellent bone, good angles front and rear. Movement straight and true. BPIB

2. Findlay’s Rhiconich Primrose. Another very feminine youngster with lovely expression. Super dark pigment and eye. Well angled front and rear. Longer in leg than 1. Movement was good in profile although a little loose behind.

3. Birrell’s Finmorlan Jasmine

Novice D/B (2) 1. Findlay’s Rhiconich Rhys. 8mth dog. Masculine youngster, mature for age. Pleasing head with dark eye & nose, good length of muzzle and low ear set. Straight front with excellent bone and neat, well padded feet. Good depth of chest. Balanced with good angles front and rear but would prefer a little more length of leg. Good, effortless movement.

2. Binks’ Tannahill Kent. 10mth dog. Good head with soft expression and good ear set. Lovely neck into short back with topline held beautifully on the move. Just preferred the angles and balance of 1.

Post Grad D/B (4) 1. Findlay’s Rhiconich Jarvis. I loved this boy the minute he stepped in the ring. Gorgeous outline with super coat and tri colouring. Masculine head with dark eye, low set ears. Would like muzzle a little longer. Straight front with excellent bone and neat feet. Great depth of chest, level topline, good rear angles and well bent stifles. Movement is a joy to watch, true, straight, effortless and beautifully handled. Delighted to award him BOB.

2. Birrell’s Finmorlan Jasmine. Pretty 17mth tri bitch who was much more settled in this class. Feminine head with good eye, expression and pigment. Good neck into short back. Nice fill of chest with good depth. Good angles with well turned stifles. Moved well.

3. Kavanagh’s Beabass Magical Mayhem

Open D/B (3,1a) 1. Findlay’s Fallowfield Adored at Rhiconich. 3yr old tri male. Lovely head with soft expression. Straight front, good bone and depth of chest. Moderate angles front and rear. Would like to see a little more length of leg. Straight movement coming and going.

2. English’s Gempeni Paso. 2yr tan & white. Masculine dog of slightly heavier type and not quite the required soft expression. Nice low ear set, dark eye and pigment. Good depth of chest and well bent stifles. Moved OK although a little narrow throughout.
