Eston & Barnaby Canine Society

Eston and Barnaby Open Show 3 November 2019 

It was a pleasure to judge Best in Show and some variety classes at this show.The Chairman and Secretary had put a great deal of effort into the organisation and preparation to ensure all went well, which it did. 

The line up for Best in Show was very pleasing and am sure some of the youngsters present will be a force to reckon with in the future.  The Lowchen is of lovely size and a confident performer, The Dogue de Bordeaux although very young showed himself to advantage, The Whippet was very handsome and sound. The Wire Fox terrier is well constructed but decided hs had had enough on the move, pity. The Irish Setter  was in super condition and belied her age.. For Best in Show I chose the Miniature PoodleVOODOLAN BLACK MAGIC SPELL. A dog I have recently judged at a championship show and thought highly of him there, Clean in head dark eye giving a lovely expression well ribbed in body and short with well angulated quarters. Reserve to him was theFinnish Lapphund IVYDALE TUHKA who put in a lovely performance, so sound and such lovely condition. On the move he presented a clean outline and displayed lovely temperament. 

Best Puppy in Show  was the black Lhasa Puppy, LIPPLOUS DOOLALLY WITH CHANCEINN who I thought was of lovely size and of correct shape, Her coat was gleaming and put in a steady performance. 

Reserve Best Puppy was a delightful Sheltie, TOORALIES OCHO RIOS, although not in full coat this young man stood away from the other quality pups. He has a sweet head, neat well placed ears and a lovely topline. 

The winners of the variety classes will have been reported on by their breed judges
