GOLDEN RETRIEVER

Thank you to the Exhibitors for the entry and to the Committee for organising a great show. We had a fantastic large outside ring and the weather was mild for the time of year. This allowed the 2 Retriever breeds to show movement to the fullest, which was shown by both Best of Breeds.

PUPPY DOG/BITCH (2, 2a)

JUNIOR DOG/BITCH (1, 0a)

1. Pounds-Longhurst’s Rosgar Dolly O’Dare Among Mossburn Dark golden bitch with feminine head, good length of neck flowing into laid back shoulders. Ribs well sprung and short coupled. Good angulation fore and aft, good length of leg. Well bent stifle and level tails set to topline. Presented in superb condition all through. Moved with drive keeping her level top line. Maturing nicely from when I last saw her as a puppy.

NOVICE DOG/BITCH (2, 1a)

1.  Poile’s Summeramba Twizzle At Cherrimar  Good length of neck on this paler bitch, compact & short coupled, moved nicely however would like to see more defined muscle in the rear to provide better drive.

POST GRADUATE DOG/BITCH (6, 3a)

1. Pounds-Longhurst’s Rosgar Dolly O’Dare Among Mossburn

2. Smith & Clare’s Serendipity Dog Principe James Con Rosgar JW (IMP ESP)  A golden boy with masculine head and straight front and rear. Deep chest and good spring or rib, good coat and condition. Level topline and moderately angulated. Moved out well, but preferred the movement of  1st on the day.

3. Stallard’s Maplerose All Tuckered Out

OPEN DOG/BITCH (5, 2a)

1. Mrs & Miss Morrissey & Tappenden’s  Messano Flaming Star JW  Pleasing head and expression. Good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders and good spring of rib. Shown in excellent condition and presented beautifully. His topline during movement was outstanding. Kept overall balance and flowed freely on the move across the large ring, wich made him a clear winner for my BOB. I was very pleased to hear he won Gundog Group 4.

2. Pett’s Stormerick High Hopes At Rumwood ShCM

This one made it hard to decide between 2nd & 1st. Kind expression, very balanced and in fantastic coat and condition. Well off for bone and excellent angulation both fore and aft. Level top line and moved with drive however preferred 1st on the day. RBOB

3. Krucyk’s Maplerose Royal Commander ShCM
