Thank you to the Officers and Committee, I really enjoyed my day judging at this well run Show. My thanks to the exhibitors for their support.

German Shorthaired Pointer

P (4,2a) 1 Braine’s Grenetrest Canterbury Bell, 8 month old liver puppy dog, maturing nicely. Strong, but not too heavy, clean cut head, soft kind eyes, long, slightly arched neck, straight front, shoulders well laid, deep chest, short back, slightly arched loin; broad hips and good bend of stifle. Well muscled throughout. Short flat coat. Easy smooth mover. BP & RBOB,

2. Scanlon’s Zakova Hellz Bells, Another lovely dog puppy of 6 months who is not yet as mature as 1, but sure they will change places at times. Classic head, clean cut skull, good length of muzzle, strong jaws. Kind expression, dark eye. Straight lean forelegs, well laid back shoulders, deep chest, ribs well back. Strong well muscled thighs. Flat coarse coat. Moves well with rear drive.      

J (1) 1 Braine’s Grenetrest Canterbury Bell BP, RBOB

PG (2,1a) 1 Edwards’ Kacela Sweet Imani In Jadenco, Very feminine 4 year old with nicely moulded head, dark eye with keen alert expression.

Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front, depth to chest, ribs well sprung, short backed with strong loin. Broad thighs, hocks well let down. Relaxed easy movement. In good coat.

O (1) John’s Keigame Jigsaw, 5 ½ year old dog, well proportioned overall,

Clean cut head, hazel eyes, correct ear set, strong muzzle. Long clean neck, correct angles throughout, deep chest and good length to rib, short loin. Well boned. In good coat. Covered the ground well with purpose and good long stride. BOB

Spaniel (Cocker)

P (2,1a) 1 Hutson’s Stobytill Hippy Hippy Shake. Feminine puppy bitch (blue roan) with sweet and alert expression. Refined chiselled head, good stop and deep muzzle, dark eye, well balanced over all. Compact body, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Wide rear quarters, good bend of stifle with hocks well let down. In good coat. Happy mover who covered the ground well with good rear drive. BP and PG3, Well done.

J (1) 1 Pilkington & Ellis’ Molkara Faustus At Brimbeck, Smart black dog of 16 months, masculine head, square muzzle, good stop, lobular ears, full dark eyes with kind expression. Longish neck into well laid shoulders, strong compact body with deep chest. Wide thighs and rounded rump, short hocks. Silky coat with feathering. Positive on the move, with good forward reach and rear drive keeping level topline. BOB


O (1) 1 Worgan’s Lujesa License To Thrill For Luthame, Neat black dog of 4 years in beautiful coat. Well chiselled skull, good stop, hazel eye, lobular ears, longish neck into well laid shoulders, good depth to chest, compact body, ribs well sprung. Short hocks. True movement with rear drive. On the day preferred the slightly stronger head of the junior dog. RBOB

Spaniel (English Springer)

PG (2) 1 McCourt’s Guinness On Tap At Woodspa, masculine l/w dog of good size with plenty of bone. Broad rounded head, fluting between dark eyes, deep muzzle, strong jaws, large nostrils. Strong neck, straight forelegs, shoulders sloping into shortish body, with deep chest. Well coupled. Broad thighs, good bend of stifle. Large rounded pads. Coat in great condition.  Enthusiastic and happy on the move, driving from the rear. RBOB

2 Chaston’s Cassapple Lindyhop, Feminine tri-colour bitch with refined balanced head and well chiselled below dark eyes. Good length to ears.   

Muscular neck. Straight forelegs. Deep chest and ribs well sprung. Short loin. Well developed thighs. Moderate bend of stifle. In good coat with moderate feathering. Good tail set. Moves very well.

O (1) 1 McCourt’s IR Sh Ch Woodspa Royal Ascot ShCM, appealing feminine bitch with classic head, broadish, with fluting between eyes, deep square flews, eyes dark of almond shape and an alert expression. Long lobular ears correctly set. Good length to neck and shoulders well laid back, good bone to strong straight forelegs. Strong body with ribs carried well back, deep chest, muscular rear quarters. In good coat with abundant feathering.  Covered the ground well, with forward reach and strong rear drive. BOB


Spaniel (Welsh Springer)

J (2) 1 Smith’s Isfryn Peeping Tom, Compact, well balanced 13 month old dog, strong head slight dome to skull and defined stop. Good length of muzzle. Dark eye, low set ears. Clean neck into well laid shoulders. Straight forelegs with enough bone for age. Shortish body with good depth of chest and ribs well sprung. Short loin. Wide thighs, muscular, hocks well let down. Quality silky coat. Moves with drive from the rear. RBOB  

 2 Cooper’s Isfryn Lady Grey. Litter sister to 1, feminine and not quite as mature but also with good proportions throughout. Lovely head with dark eye. Short body and strong quarters. Also with silky coat and rich colour.  Went around well carrying level topline.   

PG (1) 1 Smith’s Isfryn Peeping Tom

O (2) 1 Ellis & Pilkington Shannara Total Eclipse, 3 year old dog in his prime and of good size. Classic head of good proportions, dark eye and soft kindly expression. Chiselled below eyes. Clean muscular neck, straight forelegs, tight, round feet. Correct angles fore and rear. Good depth of brisket. Ribs well sprung, balanced in body, slight arch to loin, down to correct tail set. Strong rear quarters, well muscled, moderate bend of stifle. Good bone throughout. Super coat with moderate feathering and rich colour. Powerful movement, head forward with good reach of forelegs and strong drive from the rear. BOB, pleased to learn he went G1 & BIS, well deserved.
